Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

Fitbit won't integrate because they see apple as competition, what they don't realize is like me a lot of people don't want an apple watch, I love my automatic Cosmograph Daytona. What i do want however is a wearable tracker thats minimalist, tracks my HR, and has a long battery life, the fitbit Alta HR gunmetal covered all these basis, (although it could use a longer lasting battery, and be more minimalist no screen needed, and be  water resistant with a rating of 5 ATM like the Garmin Forerunner).

I would like my fitbit to talk to Apple Health because all my other apps do and i would like to have 1 place that has all my health info and not have to hop from app to app..

Fitbit should stop blocking apple health!

Come on Fitbit.  There is no good business or technical reason for not allowing your collected data to export to Apple Health or to any other consolidation program .  Users need a central place to accurately collect all of their accumulated health/fitness data.  You either need to upgrade your apps to collect data from all of the multiple sensors/sources out there or allow the data you do collect to be shared.  I like your activity trackers, dashboards, and helpful fitness programs, but they don't go far enough.

It's outrageous that this has not been implemented after all these years. Fitbit claims to care about people's health but can't be bothered to implement HealthKit to help those wanting to get healthy(ier). This is why I stopped using my Fitbit over 6 months ago. My watch broke today so I grab my Fitbit from the closet. Now I remember why I stopped using it all that time ago due to lack of Health integration. I do not want open different apps, I should be able to get all my health data in one place. But Fitbit only cars about selling products not assisting people that buy their products get healthy.

Been a loyal user of the fitbit devices and app.  Due to the Charge 2 and the HORRIBLE heart rate inaccuracies I ditched itand upgraded to an Apple Watch Series 2.  It can pair with my Polar heart rate chest strap so now my heart rate is accurately measured instead of reading zero half the time on the Charge 2.

Would love to remain a member of the community to sync my Apple watch steps and participate in challenges with friends but alas I cannot and there looks to be no chance of it ever happening.

Goodbye Fitbit app and community, 'twas fun while it lasted.

There's an app called Stridekick that allows you to compete with friends with other trackers, including the Apple Watch. It has challenges within it as well. There may be others apps that do the same thing. Unfortunate that FitBit is willing to lose its customers over this, but it seemingly doesn't matter to them so...

No reason this feature isn't implemented. It's ridiculous that there have to be other "sync" apps that solve this for your users. Please implement ASAP it's not a complicated feature, Health Kit makes it easy for apps to integrate.

I loved my fitbit. So much I bought one for an ex girlfriend (who is now on her second one) her daughter has one, I've bought them for my mum and my sister...

But, I upgraded to an Apple watch because it's a better all rounder and does so much more..

I'm now excluded from my challenges with family and friends, even though fitbit has had lots of money from me.. I used to extol the virtues ask the time, but no more...

I won't be buying another fitbit in a hurry. Disgusting service, holding customers to ransom.

This is a win-win, as far as I'm concerned. Until my FitBit doesn't need to be removed to charge, there will always be times during which my steps will be mis-counted. Connecting iOS health data could fill in some of this gap in the data.

I've been using my new Garmin Fenix watch for a couple of days now, and I love the integration it has with everything, specially with Apple Health, not to mention is a way more advanced, solid, and reliable watch.

Now the circle is complete, Garmin scale, Garmin watch.

So long Fitbit, and thanks for all the fish.

Come on Fitbit!   This thread's been open since June 2014, has 181 pages and nearly 5k up votes.  Do you care about your customers and what they want or merely about profit and what you can get away with?

I don't think it's as simple as "Do you care about your customers and what they want or merely about profit and what you can get away with?"

However, it is obvious that the lack of action on the issue of Apple HealthKit integration is a deliberate choice. There are no technical barriers to integrating with HealthKit and Apple Watch. There's nothing wrong with FitBit choosing to not support that platform.

Many of their former customers (myself included) will also be exercising a deliberate choice to not buy into their ecosystem. There's nothing wrong with that, either.

Ugh I just bought an Alta HR to come home and find it doesn't sync with HealthKit.  If there are no plans to open up to HealthKit I will be returning my first Fitbit 😞

So for three years users have been asking for integration with the Apple Health app. I know that Fitbit is trying to forge and bolster it's own identity. As a user and stockholder I get it. But sometimes its necessary to join forces.  Like it or not, Apple is king of the hill. Failing, or refusing, to implement integration does nothing but force current, loyal users to seek out alternative products.

I bought a Charge 2 and an Aria scale a week ago and really like the app and it's ability to help me improve my fitness and watch my weight.  Am very disappointed however that the acquired data doesn't port to Apple's Health app..  I have a blood pressure monitor and two sensors on my bike that have no problem doing this.  What's the big deal?  I'm am a big Apple fan, but I don't want an Apple watch, it's too overkill for me.  The Charge 2 is just right.  I'm almost sorry I bought these now, I should have done a better job of researching I guess 😞  Expensive mistake

I just started using Fitbit and was disappointed that it doesn't sync with Lifesum, but I'm downright shocked to find that it doesn't sync with Apple Health App.

I might have to return it because of this.

You have GOT to be kidding me.  Everyone here has been so nice on the threads discussing why it is a good idea to incorporate HealthKit.  I'm not going to be so nice.  You people are **ahem**S to not incorporate.  Are you that petty to not integrate?  I can't see any reason to not offer to input information to HealthKit - it almost makes me question if you actually care about helping consumers who want to be more mindful of their overall health vs branding.  You can still be a data source AND give your beautiful dashboards and communities, etc and I want to be able to share my Withings scale data, my Fitbit data, my Omron data in a nice report for my doctor independent on proprietary data.  I forgot I choose to switch away from a data provider and to another I don't want to have a different interface.  You've cornered the market - just embrace the healthkit.

I just bought 3 Alta HR's and will be returning them.  Thank god I didnt open the others 2 and give them to the family.  Boo Fitbit...  boo...

@CherriDeMars

you just made it clear that fitbit hates UNICEF, Kids, and does not want your everyday activity to help malnourished kids around the world
