Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

Still no plans to sync with health kit? I really rather get a fitbit surge. But will get a different device unless health kit integration is coming. Please just add it so I can pull the trigger on a surge.

So I am a Mayo Clinic patient, it would be great if Fitbit could sync with the health app. Mayos app already syncs. I would be able to easily share my Fitbit data with my medical team. Diet, activity, sleep, ect. Please, please, please make this happen for me.

As someone with a One and an Aria, please support HealthKit ASAP.  Otherwise I'll be going to Withings!

"That said, Fitbit needs to play its cards right or risk alienating long time loyal customers. To start, Fitbit should work on finding a way to present its wait-and-see tactic as something that's in customer's best interests. Addressing unhappy customers who are ready to jump ship over HealthKit would be a nice move, too."

I know that a tracker that is not fitbit graces my wrist.

I know one banned ex-fitbit fan is sporting something new and will not be back. And she got trackers for family that are not fitbit.

This is no longer just about yes or no on Health Kit, but how you treat your customers.

It is not just not a matter of fitbit's numbers dropping. There are people that got fitbits for Christmas, and were disappointed to find out it was not integrated. Buyer beware, people are assuming it is. Fitbit might not be worried about their numbers dropping, but what about Jawbones numbers? How are they going?

I would absolutely LOVE!!! for iOS 8 Health App integration!! Another question would be, I want to make sure that my steps are not double counted, and since the new iPhones have the Motion Co-Processors, would the steps be double counted? I would also be interested in using the Charge HR to track steps, but also sync it with my iPhone's GPS. I don't want to get the the Surge just to get GPS tracking. Is their any way to do that?

Please, please, move fwd with an update to allow our Fitbit to communicate with the fairly new iOS 8 Health app. Chop, chop; don't dalley; we are ready for it now and eagerly looking forward to what will be a great partnership. Thanks.

To balance someone with health issues and the need for additional exercise the ability to monitor heart rate real time during activities is great.   However for fitness planning seeing that over time with the activity on their IOS 8 device give them the kind of information that shows if they are going to far in activities for their health.  So I hopet that integration with Apple's HealthKit is released as a benefit to all and especially those who are working to improve their health under constraints from medication and other health conditions.   It is nice to get healthier if you don't have heart disease or diabetes but essential to monitor if you do.

Hi,

I reques that Fitbit offer 3rd party intergration with the Apple iHealth app, so that I can view MY data in all of the apps that I choose to use.

Features request for HealthKit integration: Exercise and sleep data available to talk to other health apps that I use for different apps. Also, allow FitBit to retrieve food, water and excercise tracking data from my preferred apps for tracking that info through HealthKit.

Don't want to feel like my data is being held hostage by one app just because of the tracking device that I chose to purchase. Annoying to have to enter that data into others apps manually, ESPECIALLY when a competing band has already adopted HealthKit.

I understand, your reluctance might be a marketing tactic of locking customers in to fitbit.com.

I bought Sync Solver to help with the issue, but you also currently limit data like HR that is not available via your API.

HealthKit is incomplete, but it does offer a comprehensive view and long term tracking. As a cancer survivor and somebody working in getting back into long term health and shape, tracking all health statistics is essential. I still use FitBit for more detailed statistics tracking.

I have been a loyal customer being on my 5th device (Charge HR). Please, add full integration.

Would really like to see this happen.  Silly not to integrate.

Please integrate Fitbit data with HealthKit. Your product only gets better when it allows consumers maximum control over their data.

Lmao. Voting doesn't matter. This is just a bad marketing decision that eventually will be reversed, or Fitbit will become a less relevant company.

I've read some interviews with Mr. Park.

He is not worried, because fitbit's sales have not dropped this holiday season.

I wonder how many of those devices were returned when the gifted person discovered the lack of Apple Health Kit?

I wonder how much Jawbone, Misfits, Garmin, Withering, and all the others sales are increasing. I wonder what fitbit's numbers would have been if they had supported Health Kit.

I know people that went with something else, including me, because of no Health Kit.

It matter at least as much as posting.

The only thing that will really affect change will be Fitbit realizing that they have become the Blackberry of fitness trackers.

I think the lack of integration with iHealth is a major setback for the Fitbit App, its devices and users

Would be nice to see integration with the IOS8 app.    This way it is easier to see all of the data under one App that is convenient.    Even it it just sends the Fitbit data there as simple interface at first, this would start the integration.

I would greatly value having the ability for my Aria scale to interface with Healthkit as well as my Charge HR. At the end of the day, the data collected should be non-proprietary in terms of how it can be used....

I don't carry my Iphone every time I go out to a work out and I certainly don't wear it like my Charge HR, hence it doesn't pick up complete data on my daily routine.  The Charge HR is worn full-time and as such it would be useful if the data recorded by my Charge HR in reference to excercise, HR, calories burned, sleep patterns could be accessed through the Healthkit Ap as well as through the Fitbit AP...Both have different and valuable uses.

As soon as Fitbit integrates HealthKit, I'll buy a Surge. But not before.

Ha,

just bought this and didn't bother checking whether or not it was compatible as thought everyone would jump on board. My bad.

But just goes to show they don't care as this is probably the most voted for topic and they still refuse. Sign that a company will fall wrath to its users over time.

Disappointed 😞

I just earned my Great Wall badge using my fitbit one. I have personally purchased 3 Fitbit ones and a Zip and they have all worked great.  I would get a Charge HR today if it integrated with the IOS 8 Health App.  I will buy another brand of tracker that does integrate before I buy another fitbit product that does not integrate.  I can't beleive there is any question about the need to integrate more than 7 months after IOS 8 with the Health App was announced.

I'd like to add a vote for iOS HealthKit support. It is a good idea to allow applications to use a common repository and API for health data sharing. The fact that other mobile platforms do not have this functionality is just a minus for those other mobile platforms. Having support for a HealthKit would make managing health-related data that much easier. Not every application will share data with other applications, but being able to do this through HealthKit would be a huge plus.
