Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

I would love to see FitBit sync up with the iOS HealthKit - I think it would be a plus for using FitBit compared to other trackers.  Right now I have to use a 3rd party app to get this work - I'd prefer to keep it all FitBit.

Thanks, and I hope to see this added soon!

I agree with everyone else. I've just got the Fitbit Flex and am really disappointed to find that it does not integrate with the Apple Health App. Judging by the number of posts you have a lot of unhappy customers due to your not getting this app integrated with Fitbit. Also, when do you plan on this actually happening? There are loads of comments asking for the integration - how many do you need before making it happen. Endomondo and fitness app and many others all integrate. What a disappointment. Should have bought a Jawbone.

agreed. It's sort of silly that this doesn't work with apple health. Clearly it can be done since sync solver is a workaround, but it's incredibly annoying.

What is sync solver please?

it is a 99 cent app in the app store that does sync fitbit info with health

It's a app you can get in App Store that imports Fitbit data to apple health. Doesn't do heart rate though. I tiny bit kludge. Have to adjust a setting in apple health so doesn't double count steps. The faq for sync solver explains what to do.

I think that if we want to push the company allow integration wiht the health kit, we need to start Wrinting Bad Review on the Apple Store and on they facebook account, in the Apple Store there will not be able to cancel our review and this will be a incentive to change their politics.

I went from being a #1 fan who recommended fitbit to everybody and encouraged them to use their company wellness money on a tracker ... To being somebody who actively discourages people from buying into the Fitbit system. I have recommended numerous competitors and bought family members alternative devices for gifts.

Its beem months and months and I figured I would log back in to see where things stood. Sounds like the response is still PR crap: "we're reading your comments and we'll announce something when we have something to announce."

Well, I have something to announce. You lost a customer because of your inaction, whether its being stubborn or stupid or both. Good luck with your incredibly dense business decisions.

@MatthewFitbitor @zapleahy ... I would like you to somehow convey to your boss's boss that their bull-headed stubborn decision is losing them customers. Each day that passes by is another missed opportunity.

Look, I know it's hard to admit when you're wrong or when you've made a mistake. It can be tough! And that's exactly why I don't expect anything to change with you, ever, because clearly your organization values its own pride and opaqueness above customer satisfaction.

You know what an HONEST answer would be? "We don't give a crap about HealthKit and we never will. Don't wait on us: it's never going to happen." See, I would respect that. But this pansy, mealy-mouthed lip-service you've been peddling since October is just a compete insult. The fact thst you're completely oblivious to how angry you're making your customers says it all.

Again: I ACTIVELY DISCOURAGE people from buying your product. Not because of a decision you've msde, but because you won't be honest with your customers about the decision. And I won't stop for as long as you keep it up with the canned responses: "I assure you we are reading your feedback." What an unbelievable joke.

Folks I know this costs money, but there is a great tool called Sync Solver is the App Store that syncs Fitbit with Healthkit.  Yes it costs $1.99 and yes Fitbit should have it as part of its eco-system, but for now there is alternative.  I have been using this for a few days and it works pretty well.

It is absolutely ridiculous that your app doesnt sync with Healthkit. There is no excuse. I like your product, but I will not recommend it to my friends until it does basic things, like sync with HealthKit.

I use sync solver also and yes it does work the point is we shouldent have to. Also it does not sync HR becuse FitBit has not added it to their API. That should have been done as soon as they released a device with HR in it. I really like my Charge HR but had I known all of this ahead of time I may have purchesed a diffrent device. Shame on me for not doing more research.

Can you help me find SyncSolver if I type in sync solver or syncsolver into the app store nothing appears? I typed in just sync and went through 3 pages of apps but nothing seems to match what I'm trying to do here.  I'm not usually dumb when it comes to IT so what have I done wrong? I know in the past searching on an app name like ToDo reveals nothing but if you type in the compnay name it comes straight up with all their ToDo products.

Search for fitbit. It comes right up after the fitbit program.

SyncSolver does not allow for minute, fine-grained data syncing, including the number of steps you take throughout the day. It will only output a block amount of steps.

Still can't believe that here we are, with the Apple Watch about to be launched, and you haven't integrated HealthKit. I know where my money is going, Fitbit was fun while it lasted.

Seriously thinking that if my fitbit dies or gets lost or what ever I will look elsewhere for a device, no good reason not to be in the game with IOs integration.

Or you might be the Blackberry of fitness trackers, remember them?

Well, it seems my girlfriend lost her FitBit. As an iPhone user, guess what her criteria are for a replacement. So she is currently looking at getting the same Withings gizmo I have.

So I will be voting with my wallet. I'll be buying an apple watch as soon as it is released in April. I'll also be buying my wife one. I will never buy one of your products again due to your management's decision to not integrate with Health Kit. Goodbye

THUNK!! The other shoe just dropped.

I will be replacing my Fitbit flex (and my wife's) with Apple Watch. We would normally hand down our old gear when upgrading, but I don't want to support Fitbit in even this small way based on the whole HealthKit debacle (and how Fitbit has treated customers).

Pity, as I would have happily purchased a Charge HR by now.

Fitbit should change their name to Fitberry -- the Blackberry of fitness wearables.
