Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

Please Please integrate Fitbit with Apple.  It is what the people want!

Why is this not an option yet?

A lot of comapnies are now creating their products based on HealthKit and ResearchKit to help people live healthy or to let doctors see How You're doing remotely. It is very difficult with fitbit products at all without such integration and often this topic is so important that we choose other products for solutions especially for US market.

Just adding my voice to this thread. I'm very surprised that Fitbit is not integrated to Apple Health yet.
A lot of less important/know apps are.

Charge 2 would be even better if it could be integrated with Apple Health

I've enjoyed my Fitbit HR for the past 5 months but recently upgraded to the iPhone 7 and lack of integration between the 2 devices is a deal-breaker for me.  For that reason, I'm out.

What did you move to, Garman or something else? I have a charge 2 and
really like it, but the lack of integration with Apple Health (for blood
pressure and other dash-boarding options) has me looking to jump ship.

I recently got a Sony Smart Band 2. I wanted an affordable HR monitor, and at $100 it was cheap enough for just that task. Step counting doesn't match very well with my iPhone 6s, but it is good enough at monitoring my HR to satisfy my interest in what my HR is through the day (and night).

Last night i found a new ( or at least appears to be new) app called myfitnesssync that allows you to pull over fitbit stats to apple health. It was 1.99. Seemed to work ok for me but id still prefer a seamless transition instead of a third party app to do my dirty work.

Also it would be super awesome if fitbit would allow me to transfer steps from a non fitbit device to the fitbit dashboard.

I have the Blaze and the Surge. Both of hear track my sleep and HR pretty well.

@Fitbitget integrated with the HealthKit from Apple so that information can be utilized.

For those of you that didn't know if you lay your phone on your bed (preferably below your pillow) your phone will track your movement and give you a fairly accurate reading of your sleep patterns. The same thing occurs with FITBIT watches that have HR monitors and accelerometers.

Again @Fitbit get on board and get some better comparability.

I would also like to see Fitbit both integrated into the Health app and be given the choice to use an Apple Watch in order to track my health/steps etc in but within the Fitbit community.

I'd like to see steps go into the fitbit dashboard from the apple watch...right now it just shows up as activity....

Hi CRM,
What hardware and application are you using for Blood Pressure? Do you
like them?

I use an Omron 10 series blood pressure monitor. It's compatible with my iPhone 6s. It has the band to wrap around the upper arm...I just have to sit for about 10 minutes after putting it on because I struggle sometimes getting it on. After it's done, I put my iPhone beside the monitor and it syncs automatically to the Omron app and the Health App. I had a wrist monitor but my doctor doesn't believe they are reliable. I didn't like the wrist type because if I didn't have my arm in the correct position, it would error out. I really like our new one. It also supports two people, so my husband can use it too without mixing with my numbers.

I got it at Walmart. Hope this helps.

Suggesting the integration as a paid service doesn't seem fair. It's an integral function and we've already purchased Fitbit and Apple hardware. Apple isn't charging us to use the Health Kit and another app developer, maybe even more, has put out an APP that sync several related apps, Fitbit to Health Kit and Fitness Pal to it. Makes it clear to me how easy this sync we are asking for is to do. That's my 2 cents on paying Fitbit to sync to Health Kit.

Paying Fitbit to integrate with Apple is ludicrous. They are already in the top segment of heart rate wearables. The only way you can get a higher priced device is to get something from a competitor and encrust it in gems.

So no. I think it's time they opened up to Apple. Already paid top dollar.

I would absolutely not subscribe to a fitbit paid service, i.e., syncing with Apple HealthKit, that all the competitors offer free as a matter of course.  To suggest doing so is out of the question.

Is there some issue that Fitbit has with Apple that they haven yet integrated this crucial feature?

With the iOS 10 update, you're able to delete many "stock" apps but Health isn't one of them. Given that this app is here to stay for iPhone users, it may be in fitbit's best interest to get on board and allow integration.

I love what the Fitbit app has to offer and look forward to continued updates. I am also interested in using Health and feel that any time I would spend on Health would be in addition to my use of the Fitbit app rather than in place of it.

Please consider this and get started on integration! Thank you for all you do, Fitbit team. You're making us a healthier species one step at a time.

@humanista I think they also have deals with other app builders to 'push' their expensive premium workout apps to you through the Fitbit ecosystem.

Just got a charge 2. Was super excited...then found out that it doesn't sync to my apple healthkit.

Seriously?
So hurt right now. Considering a switch to something different.
It's too bad, really.
