Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

Please add a feature to link Fitbit data to the apple health app.

I was close to take the plunge and get me a Fitbit charge 2, but since there's no Healthkit intergration... I'll skip for now.

I agree. Apple Watch does need sleep tracking and the battery be able to last several days. What I typically use to sleep track on the Apple Watch, is use Pillow, an iOS App & Watch App, and use that for sleep tracking. I usually charge up my watch before I go to sleep and put it in airplane mode, so the watch can last the whole night.

Hopefully when watchOS 4 is introduced, maybe they'll have a sleep tracking app. I heard numerous rumors that this might happen.

With Fitbit sleep tracking, I want to be able to transfer as well. Cmon Fitbit, you gotta see that your customers want HealthKit to happen. You did it with Microsoft Health, you stopped it though, why not do Apple Health?

Hi…i’m just curious. I’ve been following this blog for months now. Does anyone from Fitbit review this? Will anyone respond with Fitbits stance on the request? If not, its some what of a waste at this point to continue to post and follow the thread….

The administrators follow it, or at least they used to. Occasionally they post, and if you do a search on this site for apple health you will see them respond by telling people to come to this thread.

Nobody has ever said why they won't, but the reasons are obvious. They consider Apple a competitor, and they don't want to do anything to support them.  It was a very poor decision on their part, but I guess they feel like it was a good business decision. Meanwhile their stock has dropped from over $50 to 7.49 per share.

I would love to see integration with iOS Health, just so that when I got to the dr's office, ALL of my data was in one place

@humanista I had the Jawbone UP3.  My first one tore on the inside of the device between the wrist sensor and the strap.  I was sent a replacement that did the exact same thing.  Jawbone would not do anything the second time requesting proof of purchase which I did not have anymore.  The product was registered too but whatever.  That's why I went away from Jawbone.  The Charge 2 has the same features plus some extras minus AppleHealth integration.  Apparently Fitbit isn't going to do that according to a post that was on here plus this is a super old thread!

@HopefulRunner I am getting IFTTT right now, not sure what Workflow is, can't find it.  Hopefully it's as simple as you say, just want my Fitbit data fed into the HealthKit

@HopefulRunner That's the one I saw.  I'm also not quite sure how to get this to seemingly feed my Fitbit data to the HealthKit.

I don't know what you mean by seamless. Have to manually run a workflow to make it happen.

Please integrate with apple healthkit. Not doing so is deliberately making a closed system inside another closed system; there's nothing wrong with integrating with healthkit and for those who want the more detailed views afforded by the fitbit app to maintain that availability!

I just bought the new Charge 2 and also wish they would fix it so that it would sync with iOS's Health APP.

Also vote for Fitbit application (surge and aria) to integration with IOS health.

Another vote here for IOS health integration ... I have an aria and a Fitbit that I use but would love seamless experience with my new Apple Watch ...

I love the fitbit products but I am also an advocate of free APIs and I really disrespect the decision to intentionally not integrate into healthkit. This would allow me to use all kinds of software to analyze my health data and would stop me being limited to the fitbit app. This is the only reason for me to move to another wearable vendor once their devices catch up with fitbit. What do u have to loose other than making customers more happy?

Guys, please integrate.

From the consumer perspective, it's silly and annoying. I have previous health data from other devices and I'd like to look at it all together.

Over 4000 requests and no news? Activity trackers are getting better and cheaper, and iOS integration will be a deciding factor in my purchasing habits. I own one, but don't think I'll recommend it or buy it for the rest of the family.
