Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

Here's my vote for Fitbit to integrate with iOS' Health app and HealthKit. Frankly, I *expect* the Cadillac of activity trackers to integrate this functionality, so don't let me down. /hint

Please add as app for apple Health - soon!  Otherwise, will need to look at a different tracker.

I don't work for fitbit or Apple, but I do know IT. fitbit has to submit an updated app. Apple has to review it. Then it will be in the App Store. Apple so far approved 4 apps: fitPort, myfitnesspal, carrot, and webMD. Just imagine how many apps the have to test.

Please integrate with IOS HealthKit asap. I'd love it if FitBit did everything,so just need one app. But as it stands I have MyFitnessPal to log nutrition (best one for UK food database), iDrinkWater (love their whoosh reminder to drink water every hour or 2 hours), Noom for daily tips, group chat and encouragement and various exercise programmes. FitBit links with MyFitnessPal which is great, but the more it can link with the better.

I'd love to be able to use my fitbit Flex wih the iOS Health App, so as to have a few more tracking features other than those in the fitbit app.

Fitbit should have been ready to work with Healthkit before iOS was made public. When iOS 8 came out I had a number of apps that were ready to be updated to iOS 8. Sadly Fitbit was not one of them.

If this is an issue with Apple locking down the app to developers then Fitbit should have shared that with their community. There are now 7 pages of people who have no idea if this product will ever be compatible with Healthkit and Fitbit hasn't even touched on this subject.

Even if it's an Apple issue Fitbit should be keep everyone in the loop as to what's going on. This is rediculus.

Folks,

Apple put the brakes on everyone when there were problems with 8. Then there were problems with 8.0.1. 8.0.2 just came out yesterday. Apple is also very controlling about letting apps and updates through the App Store. We might not be waiting on fitbit here. The ball might still be in Apple's court.

I would love to see just how it will all work together. Even if I just end up sticking with the Fitbit app and Myfitness pal.

I really hope fitbit data will integrate with the ios8 health app soon.    I am surprised that it is not already.     I use both the flex and aria scale; both a great products.

Now relly annoyed!! Fitbit was one on Apple list back in June when ios8 and Healthkit was introduced! The fact that small apps have HK integration and Fitbit doesnt is just bad! This should really work As soon as device was updated to ios8.0.2!! Pretty sure we will wait till monday at least!! Really bad support!!

fitbit should be updating us on this however as was ststed before there are only a few apps that have been rleased for healthkit,  trust me im waiting for tactio health to come out and I know theirs is ready but not released by apple yet

I was disappointed to see integration with the Health app in iOS8 hasn't happened yet. The fact that so many people are asking for it on this forum when we only just found out about it when we upgraded our iphones should tell you there is a demand. My Fitbit is a year old and while I really like it, there are other wrist bands out there and the new Apple iWatch is looking pretty good. When this one wears out, I will only consider a band that syncs with the Apple Health app because I don't want to go searching through a bunch of apps for info during my annual physical.

The worst bit for me is they cannot even update us if they going to implement Healthkit support in next update!!!

Hoping Fitbit will integrate with iOS 8's HealthKit asap!! Wondering why they haven't at least responded to inquiries. Disappointed.

I will add my vote into the hat for Fibit and Healthkit integration. Since there were SO many articles I read about how awesome the iOS8 Healthkit app will be for Fitbit and Nike Fuel customers I was all ready to link up my Flex and my Aria and be amazed. No such luck. Smiley Sad
Some sort of news update from Fibit regarding this Healthkit integration would be great!

When I orignally posted here it was to add my support to the requests for HealthKit integration.

However, having tested HealthKit with a Jawbone (my girlfriend has one) over a couple of weeks I can't say I am impressed. The stats and information presented by a dedicated app i.e. Fitbits own app is always going to be better and more tailored than the vanilla info offered by HealthKit. So I would always end up using the dedicated Fitbit app.

I'd hate to see the day that Fitbit stopped improving their iOS app becuase its cheaper and easier to present stats via Healthkit instead.
