Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

I hope fitbit does decide to integrate their app with Apple Healthkit, if not I will switch to a different brand of a fitness tracking bracelet.

actually is a matter of simple business opportunity - either we continue using our fitbit devices and getting the best out of them, or we simply change them for another device compatible with Apple products.  Personally I use Mac (my office is Apple only), iPhones and iPads.  Same does my wife and my kids, and all my employees. It is much cheaper and easier to get compatible activity devices than been digging around for ways to use what I already have..... - it is a simply fact.  I am not going to change my major investments for a device where I have multiple other options... - we were actually thinking of giving away fitbit devices as christmas gifts to all our collaborators, but now we have to rethink if it is worth or not...

Hope you change your mind as we really like the simplicity of our flex fitbits.

Hi @SunsetRunner My dream is to work in an all-Apple organization. Are you hiring? 😉

As a newbie app developer, I will one day own devices from multiple companies so that I can test the apps I write.

So one day I will buy a fitbit device, but it will be after I get devices from everyone else.

Not because of the lack of integration, but because what this issue has revealed about fitbit. The way they have treated their loyal customers, is bad business.

Saying in one breath that you want parity, while in the next rolling out features that are the oposite is insulting (Cortana support).

I suspect there a is deeper reason for the hesitance to integrate, time will tell.

Has anyone found a sync app with Fitbit partner API access for intraday data yet? Apps like Wristband manager and Sync Solver appear to still be constrained to daily totals only.

Please integrate Fitbit with Apples iOS8 Health app. I see it fitting in with the fitness section, steps, flights climbed, active calories, and walking + running distance.

It it will add to the amount of current health data that is available in emergency situations in one place.

Is there any update on this?

Are there any updates on this integration taking place?  It would be the best of both worlds and very beneficial to all Apple and Fitbit users.  Please provide an update on the status of this...

Why has Fitbit not integrated with the Apple Health app?

They dont care about this update.  That is obviously clear at this point.  This has twice as many as the 2nd most requested feature.  But they still dont care. They NOW SYNCE to google Health AND Microsofts Health app. But not iOS healthkit.  I mean, really, wth?

Once again, so much for their stated concern for all stakeholders. I'll get a hand slap for this comment and frankly do not care. I have rarely been so disappointed in customer service as I have been with fitbit on this issue.  If they had been HONEST from the get go with their intent NOT TO integrate to apple health I would not be angry.  I would be disappointed, but not angry.  After the months of deceipt from corporate on this issue, I am furious.

I've trained myself to keep my iPhone in my pocket roughly 90-95% of the time.  I'll make due with this less than ideal mode until apple watch launches.  I never would have planned this purchase if not for fitbit's actions.  Now I'll give it a try.  If I don't like it, I can always try withings or jawbone.

I've always liked fitbit's products.  I simply refuse to support a company that blatantly is deceiptful to its customers.  Once trust is broken, it's very difficult to repair.

Good luck.  Merry Christmas.  No fitbit's under the tree in our house this year.

What does fitbit have to say about parity now?

As stated by others, the obvious support for Micro$oft and Google, while snubbing Apple is an insult and makes fitbit look less than honest about their motives.

I would like to hear an honest reason for the lack of Apple Health support.

Finding out that fitbit does not integrate with Apple Health was a big disappointment. I have other apps that measure things like sleep and running, which do connect to Apple health. This could be a reason to substitute for fitbit. Please addres this issue swiftly.

I would very much like to have integration between my fitbit and the iOS 8 Health app. I just got a new Fitbit Charge for Christmas and the first thing I tried to do was integrate my data with my Health app - and I was surprised and disappointed to learn that it's not already available. Please add my vote to the request list for this feature, as soon as possible please. 🙂

So I made a tweet about my disappointment with no Health Kit integration and Fitbit support led me here.  No response or answers or even a timeline from them so I am not sure why I was directed here but I guess I will add my voice too.  Please consider making your Apple friends happy.  I just got my Charge and would love to see my stats on my Health Kit dashboard.

You will have to be on the web version of the website, because the vote option is not viewable from the moble page.

I wonder if this business choice (not integrating at this time) has anything to do with Fitbit's intentions of going public and doing an IPO early in 2015?

I wonder how it will after their stock. I would not buy stock in a company that is out of touch with their customers. Just saying.

@ChrisCA ,

Knowing why fitbit is making the business choices it is making might help me understand the choices. The choice makes no sense to me, but I don't know their motives.

I completely agree, please integrate with iOS 8 healthkit!

Hi, along with everyone else here, please add my vote of asking that you connect with the Apple ios 8 Health app.  I want my steps to synch automatically from my FitBit. I don't want to have to go between multiple apps for my data.
