Integration with Google Fit

I'd very much like my fitbit data available in Google Fit. I use a different app for food logging, but Fitbit's step counter, sleep tracker, and aria are great.

If their data was available through the new Google Fit it would be fantastic.

What if an user doesn't want notifications, screens etc but just a
bracialet that collects data?
The market in this way has few opportunities like the flex or the jawbone.

The android wear products are going more toward smart watches.

I am very surprised by Fitbit.
No answer on its argument. I can understand that you have a different business model, but you do not have attention for your customers.

I've given up. I just sold all my Fitbit garbage and bought a Pebble. What a waste of time.

Please add Google Fit..... I love my fit bit data but your devices are falling behind. I am open to paying for the integration feature as a premium service but you have to own up the data syncs.

Without syncing with Google Fit any Fitbit device is useless for me. I use Google Fit to monitor my activity while my phone is connected to me and it recognizes information from Runtastic. But there's no connection at all with the Fitbit Charge I just purchased. So the Fitbit Charge is going back for a refund because just being able to see the current time and steps is pretty much useless without some sort of sync with all my other data. Fitbit should save some of the money it spends on glitzy tv commercials and develop something that's actually useful.

Hi Guys

The amount of people using multiple accounts these days after having many different trackers is growing. Also there is so many different companies that not all friends and family have the same brand of tracker. I think its about time that cross compatibility came into effect. The ability for the FITBIT app to pull data (inc steps) from others would make the FITBIT app the most used app even if other hardware is used. This woul make life so much simpler. It could even be done with a subscription or small payment to allow for this?

Opinions?

Yes, Even as I don't use my FitBit any more, I'd still like to track my progress on Fitbit.  It's the most Universal of all the apps.  Fitbit needs to embrace this aspect.  Data is king.  This is why Amazon sells the Fire for cheap.

Who knows, maybe they're planning for an Android wear device for next year. Let's give them a chance.

Well, yeah ok. Give them a chance. But this really isn't a hardware issue.
Runtastic integrates with Google Fit and it's software, not hardware. Given
the price of Fitbit devices, they shouldn't be expecting users to be buying
new hardware every year just to get a software update.

I too would like to see data transfer between apps (Garmin-Fitbit) made available which doesn't rely on 3rd parties. I'd happily pay once for this. Not sure a couple of lines of code is worth a subscription tho.

You have probably another 10 months before I need to replace my fitbit charge hr.. if you guys remain as unresponsive (last update was a year ago) and closed, I will be a one time customer of fitbit...

Posted something similar months ago (was actually in 09/2015, just checked it)...because I cared about Fitbit, also
had a Charge HR, a Surge, then again a Charge HR. Then eventually said bye, bye to Fitbit in January this year, with the Blaze just being a minor change to the Charge HR for double the price, not even being capable to work with "Smart notifications" on iOS (for what reason?? Garmin fully supports both iOS and Android, so does Pebble). The Blaze could have been the device...if it would look like a (round) watch, would have customized watch faces, etc. etc.

Sure, these are all personal preferences...but with many people asking for the same specs over and over again...yet no response by Fitbit.

Meanwhile couldn't care less. Only product in use is the Fitbit Area scale,
because I bought it. It's a scale.
Not much you can add here. Good product, but for what it is too expensive.
Anyway will keep it.

For anything else I believe Fitbit is out.
Had the newer Garmin vivoactive HR, great device, but still more an (expensive) band-looking device. Now, the Forerunner
235 as the perfect real Smartwatch/sportwatch/activity tracker is miles
ahead of any Fitbit product. Love it. That includes the app. Sad but true, as much I
liked Fitbit the past 3-4 years, starting with the One.
Unless they come out with any innovation, Garmin and even Pebble with their
new (cheap) watches won.

Same here.  I keep my Surge next to my bed to wake me up.  that's all it get's used for now.  I got a Moto360 sport.  It does everything I wished my surge could do.

It's just a question of respect. But atm I didn't see any response or any move from FitBit. Sad...

oh dear!  just bought a 2nd hand Surge, and now find that it doesn't integrate!  I should have stumped the bigger money and got the Garmin vivoactiv HR Smiley Frustrated
