Integration with Google Fit

I'd very much like my fitbit data available in Google Fit. I use a different app for food logging, but Fitbit's step counter, sleep tracker, and aria are great.

If their data was available through the new Google Fit it would be fantastic.

I'd love to be able to combine my steps from my Flex with what my phone logs on Google Fit. Please integrate these apps ASAP. Thanks 🙂

Please include this option. Most of your users got a fitbit because they want to be able to export the data (especially gps!).

Sad to say that even if I truly love my fitbit charge HR, I going to leave fitbit community if this is not done in a near future...

I hope Fitbit doesn't try and keep us from integrating our data with services like Google Fit, which could give us extra insight into our health.

I think it would add tremendous value to your product to implement syncing with the Google Fit platform. There are so many options available now for fitness trackers and many of them sync now or will sync with Google Fit. This would be another talking point as to why a Fitbit device should be chosen over any other. Choice is what we want!

Unfortunately fitbit doesn't believe in hiring real developers for Android, just look at the app and website, they'll spend the big bucks for designers, they don't care if it's accurate or works well, or plays well with others.

It's really unfortunate!

The lack of movement on this makes me pretty sad. I understand the desire to put up walls to lock users into one service or another, but those very walls are what will drive FitBit's most passionate users away over time: the kinds of users that build products around platforms just for fun, or who answer forum posts on their own accord.

This happens to far too many companies, and I'm sad that it seems to be happening to Fitbit.

The technical challenges of integrating with Google Fit are not profound... I'm an engineer myself, and from what I can tell, the rational for not integrating with Google Fit is most likely a business decision.

I'd like to see FitBit be the mature player in this exploding fitness-tracking field, not another walled garden. And if they choose that open path, I will stick with them for years, build software on their platform and give it away for free, and evangelize their products because they are a good company making good choices.

But until that day, I'll be keeping my eye on products that are more open than FitBit, watching for an excuse to switch.
