Hi @Tracey1974 Nice suggestion, thanks for sharing. I've moved your suggestion to this one, as they are very similar. We look forward to hearing what other community members think
Ability to configure custom intervals of our required duration would make much more sense than having to select from a pre-chosen interval duration. And yes, more of them. A lot of circuit training routines have a ton of different intervals.
Customisable intervals would be incredibly helpful. I'm starting back on the Couch to 5K (C25K) program as I've lost my form lately and the current intervals would only work for the first couple of weeks. After that it's variable length intervals with variable length breaks. I can set this up on the Endomondo app and save them for later but it would be better to be able to do it directly in the Fitbit app. If I track my run with Endomondo the calories burnt seems to come from Endomondo and not based on heart rate, and also the auto tracking feature means my run gets logged twice which is annoying.
For interval Training (HIIT) sessions, which I think this is designed for, it is common to do 3 reps per set of exercises, with a short break in between reps but a slightly longer rest period between sets. It would be good to get extra flexibility in this similar to what Recovery Runner is suggesting.
For example:
Move - 50seconds
Rest - 10seconds (between reps)
Reps - 3
Sets - 10
Pause - 30seconds (between sets)
For anykind of interval training this is a must and each of the above bolded items should be configurable to suit the type of training being done. This would make FitBit much more of a one stop shop for me!
Like Katka Kat Jogger, I'm doing Couch to 5k and the intervals work week 1 and 2 but I can't add anymore intervals. I think this would be a help. I have a charge 2
Yes, this is a must. Any interval tracker needs multiple interval setting options. I need to be able to set at least 3 intervals for my training, hard, slow, and rest. I am very disappointed that Fitbit doesn't have this feature. It's got me considering going back to the iWatch.
You should have the ability to create the interval/workout that you need. All you have is Move, Rest. For running intervals, you may not want to rest at all but need an indicator that after e.g., 5mins at pace a warmup pace you now need to increase your speed for the next 30mins at race pace and then back down to 5mins for warmdown.
Instead of only being able to set one interval for movement and one interval for rest, the interval workout could allow the setting of a whole workout program with many different intervals. For example, move for 1.5 minutes, rest for 1.5 minutes, move for 3 minutes, rest for 3 minutes, move for 2 minutes, etc.
Hi @lidamonstr, thanks for explaining why you would like to have more options for interval workout. I've moved it into a similar request. I think that a lot of users would like to have this option on their Fitbit devices. You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs.
Definitely need unlimited intervals...the 49 is not useful for long distance running. Why has this not been updated by now? People have been posting about interval updates for several years.. come on Fitbit.
Have recently upgraded to the Charge 5 and highly disappointed this still doesn't seem to be a thing – I have a pyramid workout to do (2/4/6/4/2 minutes of the workout, with a 2-minute active recovery between) but can't set more than the first 2 minutes on, 2 minutes off. The 'Add' button is there (implying I could add more), but inactive. Am I missing something, should I be able to add more?
I completely agree that this should be an option! Or at least be able to enter some favourite intervals so I can easily choose between those if I don't get a whole program of my choosing.
