Let us delete in-app notifications/messages

This is clogging up my iphone. I have a year or more worth of useless Fitbit notification messages I'd like to shed. I saw a 'solved' notice in here from a year ago stating it was resolved by stating there is no solution. This is simply ignoring the myriads of request/votes of customer requests/concerns to fix it. Fitbit should have had a REAL solution by now and apparently do not. In reality this problem has not been resolved but simply is being ignored by the company/moderator. The solution 'solved' to put a vote in ideas does not address the real concern or issue at hand. What's the point of a community forum if Fitbit does not listen to its customers? The thread should have flagged Fitbit/moderator to produce a real fix, we're still waiting.

People - CAN YOU PLEASE STOP just telling people in this thread to what the URL is to be part of the conversation. They have ALREADY FOUND IT. All you are doing is SPAMMING EVERYBODY ELSE!

Please feel free to ASK them if they have clicked on the link!

I would like to be part of the this conversation but not at the cost of constant spam.

I do wish that FITBIT would take MORE NOTICE of this thread, but it is actually hard to see new contributions due to the amount of extra contributions.

People ask yourselves why in a forum of 569 comments there are only 312 votes.

Yes I know that I've just added to that count of comments and yes I voted.

I am now signing out of the conversation.

Why are there only 312 votes when the number of posts indicating people unhappy with the inability to delete those cumulative notifications is much higher?  Could the moderator please address our concern?

Have the developers been made aware of the many users that are unhappy with our inability  to remove these notifications?  If you read the posts, you must  feel the frustrations of many users, some of whom have expressed that they will not be using your product much longer. I can delete pictures, emails, etc., but not these notification.  Why would anyone want an accumulation of these notices? I can understand keeping your badges, but all those daily notices?  I think not.

Can you please make a change to the dashboard to make it where we can delete our messages and not waiting 30 days? This seems to be an issue many have had for a long time and it still has not be addressed.

I agree. You can turn the notifications off.

I have a Charge 2 and I keep getting big red dots signalling another in-app notification/ encouragement message.- on the bottom right of the Home Screen.  I do not  want these disruptions to my use of the app- they look like high alert signals and irritate me as I know it’s just some “encouragement” or such, not a low battery or needed update or some problem I need to attend to! PLEASE include something in Settings that makes this alert/notification marker an OPTION, as well as the notifications themselves. Thanking you.

I just got into fitbit.com > Profile >  Account settings > Notifications >  Here you can turn on or off all the different types of notifications on either your Mobile device AND/OR your Email. I selected what I wanted on both of these, pressed SAVE, and got a green banner saying “You have changed your settings successfully” or somesuch.  I hope those changes will happen and I will no longer see that big red dot or get Step Goal Milestones or Exercise Goad Milestones etc etc.  That “taunts” one is in there too.  It’s all very detailed - about 10 or more different types of Notifications can be set to your preference.  Hope this works and that this helps others1

@Rover36 I'm not sure what your asking, your title says Charge 2, I assume this is the subject. The Charge 2 does not save any notifications.

The label is community. I think your asking for the current suggestion

I have notifications since beginning of December- 2 each day - I don’t want them - superfluous to requirements- can’t delete or stop

Go to web browser, not the app, sign in. In the top right hand corner is a gear, open it and drop down menu will have notifications, open that and turn off all the notifications you do not want.

Hi everyone, I know this is a popular suggestion. This is being discussed although I do not have a firm commitment or timeline at the moment. Do continue to vote for this feature suggestion whilst it’s under consideration. Please note that the current discussion is specifically around enabling 'messages' to be deleted, not 'notifications'. I will let you know if that changes.

Please note that if something is under consideration and chosen for development, it can be a while until it's released or until I have any news to share. Please watch this space for any updates! Thanks for your patience.

Messages and NOT notifications!!! From what I see most if not all the complaints are for notifications not messages. Utterly useless... it's as if Fitbit is not even listening to us. As for time involved, these undeleteable notifications have been with us since February 2017.

I just got cut off in the middle of commenting to fill out a worthless survey. So the forum wants us to be able to delete BOTH notifications and messages and yet the moderator says only deleting messages is being considered. Is Fitbit even listening to us?  Utterly futile!

I think it’s time for Fitbit to change its corporate name to “Fit2BTied”! Of course that name will also be applied to ALL their customers! So disgusting that Fitbit WILL NOT fix the issue of allowing us to delete notifications AND message so!

No offense Liz- but clearly this discussion has been mainly related to the Notifications!!
Please re-read if you don't know that!

I have the daily notifications going back to August 2017.  Really irritating and probably reducing the capacity of my phone!  Please provide ability to delete them.

Dear Countrylaner,

Your sugeestion of going  to fitbit.com > Profile > Account settings > Notifications > to turn on or off all the different types of notifications on either your Mobile device AND/OR your Email was great.   Like you, I selected what I wanted on both of these, pressed SAVE, and got a green banner saying “You have changed your settings successfully”. One can  only hope those changes will happen and we will  no longer see that big red dot .  However, the question still remains, how do we delete the 100 notifications residing in our phones, computers and/ ot iPads?

I agree with this. I don't get any new notifications, so no more red dot, but I still have months' worth that I cannot get rid of.--Ilene

I have emailed FITBIT and await a reply - surely if they realise the annoyance it causes they would act quickly to allow deletion - many people may not be aware of these useless (for me) notifications

Don’t hold your breathe!! Many of us Fitbit users have begged, cajoled, and threatened to be able to delete notifications but they don’t even have the curtesy to respond! Totally disgusting for a company who NEEDs their customers!!
