Let us delete in-app notifications/messages

This is clogging up my iphone. I have a year or more worth of useless Fitbit notification messages I'd like to shed. I saw a 'solved' notice in here from a year ago stating it was resolved by stating there is no solution. This is simply ignoring the myriads of request/votes of customer requests/concerns to fix it. Fitbit should have had a REAL solution by now and apparently do not. In reality this problem has not been resolved but simply is being ignored by the company/moderator. The solution 'solved' to put a vote in ideas does not address the real concern or issue at hand. What's the point of a community forum if Fitbit does not listen to its customers? The thread should have flagged Fitbit/moderator to produce a real fix, we're still waiting.

And do it quickly before Fitbit censures and removes your post.

So I tweeted at them on Twitter this morning and this is what I got in
response:

1/2 Hi there, Erin. We're constantly striving to improve Fitbit products
and services, and we very much appreciate all of the input we receive from
our customers. With this, we saw a similar suggestion on our Ideas board
found here:[Linked to THIS forum!!!] https://t.co/qnSbfOq1mC

2/2 Rest assured our moderators are doing their best to collate the
features our customers want to relay to our product specialists. We don't
have any announcements, however we will make news when we do. Your patience
is much appreciated.

I'm going to reply and I'm going to tweet at them again tomorrow. They WILL
make this a priority if they can't ignore it.

It is beyond ridiculous and frustrating that this has not been addressed in over 2 years!

Additionally, the little plastic piece that holds the wrist strap on my fitbit charge 2 has broken, ya know, since it's a cheap plastic piece to begin with.  Fitbit's customer service response when I contacted them was to offer me a discount to purchase a NEW piece of cheaply made products from them.  Why on Earth would I want to buy another poor product from this company when they don't stand by their current products???

Let's keep things in perspective.  It is an annoyance, Fitbit has been notified, Amazon has had negative reviews posted and life goes on.  If someone asks me about my Fitbit I tell them to compare it with others and voice my displeasure about the notifications and Fitbits reluctance to fix the situation.  I don't march down Franklin street with a sign saying "Don't Buy Fitbit."  Be annoyed, be annoying, but don't let it make your life negative.  😄

If they made the cheap plastic piece with metal instead it would solve the problem for us, but it would cut into their revenue from selling more cheaply made bands.  Why would they do that?

Erin, they are absolutely right... they will make news when they fix it, but that isn't happening anytime soon.  Kick back and have a nice glass of wine instead.  😄

We need more, they've "working" on this for over 18 months.

When my cheap plastic piece broke I got a new one on line at Walmart and it fine, others got the replacement on E-bay.

I do the same as you. I turned my notifications off in November and have not received one since.

Oh and let's not forget that the "All-Day Sync" has never worked once since I downloaded the app!

I turned that off after the 1st day I had it. And let's not forget the sleep stages. I love it when I see I was asleep and all I did was take the device off for an hour or two. Or when I get up, feed the dog, get the paper etc and the Fitbit registers I'm still sleeping. This happens once a month or more. Who knew it could so easy to sleep.

I got a new response from Fitbit on Twitter:

"We understand where you're coming from and how important this is. We'll
make sure to pass this along to our specialists. In the meantime, note that
messages will be deleted automatically after 30 days. Should you have any
other concerns, feel free to contact us."

And I just checked and I don't see those messages anymore. So maybe they
really are deleted after 30 days now. That's new and better than nothing!
What about others? Are your old messages still there?

EMichK- Mine are still there from May 9, May 7, Apr 2, Mar 22, and Jan 30.  I tried to add a screen shot, but not sure how to add images to my post.

My messages are still there from August 7-November 11,2017, the 30 day deletion did not occur. Of course I have none after that, I turned the notifications off.

My question is if Fitbit can delete some, why not all of us?

Mine too.

The key issue is the fact that we, the FitBit customers, still CANNOT delete the notifications!!!! I have over 700 notifications and NO process to delete them!! I note this same problem on Amazon's FitBit pages to alert anyone who thinks they need a FitBit device!

Hope so, but I doubt it.
I have not seen a post from you since the one that purged by the moderator.

Sorry about that, I know Ive had users write that they've called and the notifications are deleted. Like you and Diego, that's what happened when I called over a year ago. So was I misinformed or did somehow these people have their notifications magically disappear? Personally I think it's time to relax, turn notifications off and relax. This is not worth the aggravation it is causing everyone except Fitbit.
