Lock Touchscreen to Clockface

I'm finding over the course of the day and while sleeping my Surge's touchscreen becomes switched from the watch face to one of the other screens. It would be very helpful if there was an ability to hold down one of the physical buttons to lock the touchscreen on the watch face and repeat to unlock. This would prevent accidental navigation away from the watch face. Please consider adding this functionality in a future firmware update. Thank you.

Moderator Edit:

The latest Surge firmware update added a function which reverts Surge to its clock screen after 15 seconds. Some users would prefer to continuously view another data tile, such as Steps, Heart Rate, or Distance. This is no longer possible for more than 15 seconds outside of starting an Exercise log.

This existing Feature Request represents a good solution to the issue, and I encourage anyone who might be interested in this new feature to vote or comment in this thread.

I sold my shares of Fitbit last week. Can't wait to get a competitors
watch that does what I want.

Thank you. Was able to turn off the light coming on every time I move.  Now why can't they do the same thing for the 15 second watch.  On, it goes to clock at 15 seconds, off it doesn't.

+1 I don't use this device as a watch.  I'd like the steps to default.  I use an Apple Watch for my smart wearable.

How does it work using them both, I'm interested

Too bad defaulting to the face we want falls on deaf ears.

What do you mean deaf ears, the next update is going to have that.

I will believe it when I see it.  People have been complaining since March when they changed it.

The problem in March was that it wouldn't stay on the same screen. If you had a long sleeve shirt it moved.

But I would rather have that than going to the clock every 15 seconds.  Also, I rarely wear long sleeves so that is not a problem for me.  When I want to monitor steps, flights, BP or whatever on the slide screens, I want it to stay there, not go the the clock after 15 seconds.

Yes I want the locked screen as well.

I'm hoping that they change it shortly

I wouldn't hold your breath, I complained month's ago, I even contacted
tech support they said post it on the forum, no one from fitbit reads this,
there has been an update recently and they didn't change it then so why
change it on the next update, all they did is make watch light come on when
I moved my wrist, who asked for that?. I will never buy another fibit
device. All I want to do is monitor my heart rate.

Where is the info about this being in the next update? I was hoping it was going to be in the last update. I do like the backlight on when wrist is rotated feature...

I would like confirmation on the next update, also.  I would like the rotatng wrist feature if it wasn't one more thing to drain the battery.  I drain the battery enough having to swipe every 15 seconds to monitor anything.

You almost sound like you work for Fitbit, (maybe they do read this forum),

Back in July @MatthewFitbit eluded to the fact that the screen lock functionality would be in the next upgrade, but obviously that didn't happen.

@AZEducator I don't think the Quick View feature is your battery drain problem. I have it on, and I am currently at 7.5 days. (I charged last Friday at about mid-night.) The low battery warning has been on for the last ~1 day. I haven't used GPS at all, but I have logged ~1 hour of exercises each day. (Treadmill Run, or Workout)

Yeah. I don't believe it will change. We sold our shares of Fitbit. The
company won't budge or listen to our requests. Obviously they don't care.

Looking forward to buying an alternative at the holidays.

How long is your battery lasting? I just pop mine on the charger when I shower in the morning- seems to be enough.

Just doesn't charge when plugged in. It needs to be fiddled with.

I purchased 3 fitbits 6 months ago and returned all 3 five months ago due to the lack of "real" response from FitBit.  All i can say is "talk is cheap"....... and if FitBit wants me to consider purchasing their products again, they need to "show me the money" and return their product to the functions it had the day I bought them!!!  I dont want a an ugly, black, plastic watch.....  I wanted a step and heart rate monitor!

So I just purchased my Surge yesterday and thought I good place to start would be my Boxing Class this morning.  During the class I looked down and noticed that I had a summary screen for exercise, but I was only half way through our class.  I can only assume that my gloves/pads have knocked the right side buttons which caused it to end my workout.

So my suggestion would be that you could press one of the buttons twice or hold for so many seconds, once you've started your session which would then lock all the buttons during your session.  You then press the same button again at the end to unlock and then end your workout.

The Fitbit needs a solution to be able to lock the screen during exercise I have had so many exercise sessions not fully recorded because during the program I have accidentally paused the tracker really not helpful this cannot be a hard fix to get corrected please please sort it out

The ability to lock each and any of the screens absolutely needs to happen. I know the vast majority of people wanted the display to always default back to the clock face, but if, like me, you don't use the Surge to tell the time, then being able to lock the screen on Heart Rate or Steps would be great!!
