Macros in grams in the app

Hey everyone!
I have got a Fitbit Charge 2 and I have already downloaded the app into my iphone. As long as I am tracking the macros, I would appreciate if the app shows me also how many grams of protein, fat and carbs I eat, not only the percentage as it does now. I know I can check it in the dashboard on the internet via my macbook, but I think it would be really useful to make it possible in the app as well. What do you think?

more macros needed for sure - if only fitbit would show macronutrients by food (g or %) or meal overview.

Yes. With changeable macros

Some people weightlifting or fitness training need more protein (towards grams of their muscle mass)

Some people doing keto will want 20-50 grams of carbs or less a day.

Please give adjustable macros

Maybe even food recommendation too

(Ex you need to eat more veggies)

There are so many of us that want this feature. If Fitbit is listening. Please do this for us!!

YES ! please add the gram next to the % as well. A lot of us track our diet by Gram instead of %.

are you making any progress is this evaluation? FitBit is leading us to believe they are listening, but we aren’t seeing any ACTION...

This request was made over a year ago.. and still not added to the app.

Why not?

Lots of people, yes including me, would love to have macros grams next to percentages.

please add this asap!

Please display macronutrients in grams not percentages, or allow display option.

Fitbit app should also show the actual GRAMS of your macros in addition to your percentages.  This is a better visualization of tracking your meals if you are breaking them down by macros, especially if you are dieting and other apps already do so.

Another day goes by and nothing from the mods here....

If you all haven't yet given the fitbit app terrible reviews in the Apple/Android store, I suggest you do. They've had mods here say they are not going to implement this feature, so maybe convey your frustration in a manner they'll pay attention to. Posting on this thread has not convinced them of anything, but a low app rating might.

I hate to do it but done. I will gladly go back and change it to a 5 star rating once this is implemented.

As will I. But given how unbelievably simple a feature this is and how ubiquitous it is among other tracking apps, it is absolutely mind boggling that they can't incorporate a sum function for macronutrients which would be unbelievably simple. A 1-star review is extremely deserved until they prove otherwise!

I hope we get this feature. It seems so obvious and yet Fitbit doesnt include it. And over the course of many many years, it has been suggested and requested time and time again without implementation, which is incredibly disheartening. I've use fitbit products, purchased them as gifts, and recommended it to others as well - but having to use multiple apps, or having to visit the wesbite, is proving to become cumbersome and unnecesarily annoying. I'm not even going to get greedy and ask for net carbs display because that will probably take another 10 years. Can we please just atleast get total grams for macros on the app? Upvoted and comment for visibility.

I’ve tried to tag MODERATORS in order to bring attention to this issue. Crickets 🦗😕

Thank you Garda on your insistence to get answers from the mod team beyond the tiresome and ambiguous "we are looking into it". Lack of response and implementation, to what appears to be a highly in-demand and simple addition, is very disappointing. I've done a search on the forum and found 65 results for "macro grams" dating as far back as 2013. 5 years later, and still not implemented. As suggested above, I've decided to rate the app poorly in the app store, and encourage others to do the same if they feel similar, because the app management team has, in my opinion, proven to be inadequate in implementing new features. When was the last time the app even got a worthwhile update? A quick review of the app history shows dismal updates - compromising almost entirely of "bug fixes and performance improvements" (wheres the new features?) I'm strongly considering moving over to MFP + Apple Watch once my current fitbit breaks/becomes obsolete.

Yes, the update history has been vague and not very promising especially as Fitbit tries to pivot into recurring revenue it seems that they don’t care about those of us who have thrown money down on one or two devices or more (Fitbit charge, then an upgrade to a charge2 and an aria 2 scale for Ken personally) I had been a Fitbit fan but seeing all the dead air on a simple feature request that is supported by a large part of the community has be frustrated with Fitbit entirely.

Sadly as I mentioned earlier in this thread and as others have also mentioned since, the only way to get this really noticed seems to be to let our complaints known by posting 1 star reviews and leaving comments on the play store or App Store. It’s sad that we have to resort to something like that in order to get enough traction to warrant a proper response but Fitbit wants to play stupid games and you know what they say: play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

I just rated Fitbit with a one star review out on the app site.

This has been requested many many times and no luck.

I would love to go back to just utilizing the ONE app but

as it is now I only use the fitbit app to track my exercise!!

After looking at the Versa last night in person, I am on the verge of purchasing it but there is no way I am going to do it with the response we've gotten here.

Will probably never reach them but done anyway.

I actually called Customer Service the other day about this issue and they said they would forward this on to senior Fitbit leadership and would reply within 24 hrs, its been a week now and still nothing. Really fed up of the total inaction on behalf of Fitbit.

I have now done a 1 star review on the app explaining the situation.

Also, do any of us want to send LinkedIn emails to people who work for FitBit?  Direct messages to have them look at things, or at least a link to this thread.

I guess it really depends on how aggressive/to the point we would like to be both about about not getting ANY response to a concern or request or movement on this topic.

Agreed! I would love to see sugar added to the tracked nutrition items and be able to see food consumed in grams in the app as well. There are very few things missing from this app, but those two are a big one for me. If those are added, I could stop using multiple apps for food tracking.

Good morning,

I would like to propose my idea for the App "Fitbit" (Android/IOS), that consist in creation of section with specification of macros' grams inserted during foods registration. In the app there is only the percentage.

For example:

  - if I record 70 grams of bread, is usefull to know how many grams of macros it is costitueted (18 carbs + 1 fat + 3 prot.)

This is displayable only on Fitbit's website, section "Food Diary", and not on the App.

Thanks in advance to your attention.

Best Regards,

Viviana Meraglia
