Maintain Fitbit web dashboard going forward

As an older user, my eyesight and hand eye coordination are poor. So, I prefer the website dashboard on my PC. That dashboard keeps directing us to the mobile app. Please assure you will continue maintaining both as I cannot rely solely on the mobile app. Please consider all of your customers when providing tools. Many thanks!

I actually spoke to two different individuals on their Disability team and they are aware of unhappy people are of losing the dashboard.

They are also aware of the importance of taking care of those of us with low or no vision.

They said they would work on it and hopefully do something sooner than later.

Right now, I am trying to be patient and give them a chance.

I am considering moving to a different Product.  I have had 3 different fitbits since 2014 and use the Dashboard on my PC to track nutrition, steps, etc.  I do use the mobile app for looking at stats and for the clock and weather feature, but nutrition tracking on it is painful.  There is no way to edit Custom foods on my android app.  I had a complete database of favorite foods and custom meals on the online version that never would sync to the mobile app.  All of that is gone.  Please bring it back.

@NeesWeband @Godmother57 thank you for putting in the effort.  I spoke with them via chat (one person passed me along to a second person).  Assistive technology was discussed, and I told them that, at least for now, use of a large monitor and full-sized keyboard was sufficient and what I may need to do differently as things progress.  She said that the interaction amounted to my making a "feature request."  At this point, restoring the dashboard = adding a feature.  I received an email later that day, and several days later I received a second email, which said my feedback had been reviewed and passed along to the appropriate team.

I also had a feedback form given to me to fill out (after the chat).  I gave positive feedback on the chat itself (star-based ratings on various things).  When it asked for comments, my comments were more global.  I won't say more than that.

I think it is good for them to hear from more people, so they might realize that this is not a unique issue.

The Disability Community (and those that love being able to monitor their data) need to speak up loudly about this - not just here, but on social media, sites there they can leave reviews. Tag other accounts that would be interested.  I am looking at Garmins now.

You are absolutely right. I have decided to start leaving reviews wherever possible. The current situation is outrageous. There is no justification for restricting elderly and disabled individuals from accessing their health and fitness device data. Health and fitness are vital to people with disabilities. Many of us follow specific diets, participate in physical therapy, monitor our water intake, track heart rate, sleep, and oxygen, and track our active minutes. It is essential to have access to weekly and monthly trends for discussion with healthcare professionals. For individuals with dexterity issues like myself, navigating a small screen and inputting data can be challenging. I imagine it is equally difficult for those who are visually impaired.

Normal practice from Google. In this case , PC dashboard was available. Then you had to click a link to get to the browser. Then it disappeared completely with just a page to download from Apple/Google app store. The android only version is sub- standard and not what I signed up for (or pay for). Google/Fitbit don't give sh1t. I too will leave bad reviews where I can. Please join me.

I have no idea how to obtain a refund. I reached out to disability support, but I don't believe that will be beneficial for anyone who is leaving because we are now being denied disability access to our health and fitness data, which I view as a serious violation, just like you. I am unable to use the Fitbit product that I bought; it is completely useless to me now. I believe I should receive a refund for my purchase as it does not function as described when I made the purchase.

This is interesting it's from the Terms of Service

4. NECESSARY EQUIPMENT

Full use of the Fitbit Service is dependent upon your use of a computer with adequate software or a supported mobile device and Internet access. The maintenance and security of this equipment may influence the performance of the Fitbit Service and it is your responsibility to ensure the equipment’s functionality. You are responsible for all Internet access charges. Please check with your Internet provider for information on possible Internet data usage charges.

Note that it says fully use of the service is dependent upon your use of a computer with software or a supported mobile device. It does not say that a mobile device is required. Doesn't that mean that they are violating their own Terms by not allowing us the OR part of that statement?  We cant to access with a computer and internet access.

Not having a web presence is just not acceptable.  Google has been pushing on app driven for a while, but reality is that there are millions of people that still have a PC and would like to do things on web on a big screen.  I'm not going to just get a Chromebook so I can log my calories on fitbit.  If this is not resolved, I'm going back to Garmin (which to be honest, is a much superior product).

Taking away the computer access has hurt the app greatly i choose this app back in 2018 due to the capability of being able to add and edit recipes for the app but now you have taken this away and I am not able to edit the recipes to it or even see what the actual recipe calls for anymore. this feature was one of the main reasons I choose this app and wen Google took over and started making changes like this it hurts the product and why they would do that when it is a great product and there are a ton of people who use the computer interface and now you have taken that away completely you need to bring it back Or i guess myself and others will have to start looking at other avenues.

Google if you are going to take over existing companies in order to improve your company you need to look at what they have actually provide to the customer base because if you change everything to run on the app base only then your app has to become so large and to maintain that does not become cost effective because an app can only be so big that is why Fitbit had a web base also was to be able to accommodate the extra stuff that people use when trying to utilize the system i know you have google fit but it does not function like Fitbit that is why you bought it just like Microsoft did when they bought Borland software just to get their software program called Framework which they hacked into their office product so stop trying to mimic what is there and good but enhance it and promote it with all that you have and integrate it the correct way not by taking away access

The app doesn’t show the data that is gathered by the device and WAS displayed in the browser.

the browser view is more detailed (maps graphs etc) and easier to use.

then there I are the usability issues for those that need the bigger screen.

fitbit are essentially disenfranchising and discriminating against their user community / customers.

Please bring back the Fitbit browser for computer.  It's much easier & breaks down the nutrition information in more detail showing fiber which the app doesn't.  I've used Fitbit for 14 yrs. & am very disappointed in the changes.

I need something bigger than a 3" cell phone screen.  I like to zoom in on my hikes.  I heard that Garmin offers website based stats like Fitbit used to.  I hate to switch after I just received the Congratulations it's been 9 years of Fitbit but it might be time to divorce Fitbit.

There are many of us that have only a windows computer, so essentially you just cancelled my fitbit. I think that really sucks..... why cant you just leave a minimum windows app so that we can use it..

Check out MyNetDiary as an alternative to the Fitbit web page.  MyNetDiary has an easy to navigate web page that allows you to enter food intake and to track nutritional data.  Though it won't sync with your Fitbit unless you have the premium version of MyNetDiary, the free version meets my needs to easily enter food intake daily and then compare calories in vs what my Fitbit indicates as calories expended.

No terms of service allows a company to stop providing the service you paid for without offering a refund. Email support requesting a refund. Then file a complaint with your credit card if you don't hear back. Most credit card companies will go to bat for you if you provide documentation.

Please bring back the browser dashboard! So much more comprehensive and user-friendly than the app!
I am tempted to get an Apple Watch at this point.

Please add the functionality from the web browser to the app particularly this ability to save favorite meals. It is quite inconvenient to have to enter every single ingredient every single time on the app in order to track.

The problem with these over paid executuives is they think we aren't worth listening to. We don't know anything, When you have power to make a decision without consequences you don't care. If you know one of the executives tell them to their faca in front of friends and public.  THEY SUCK

I totally agree with you on this! If there is an address or addresses that
we can communicate our feelings with on this that would be great. No one
likes bad publicity and if their competition is smart they will take
advantage of this, as I'm sure many are planning to do. When they lose
enough customers and it affects their bottom line ($$$) then maybe they
will do something and hopefully they will do it before it's too late.
