Maintain Fitbit web dashboard going forward

As an older user, my eyesight and hand eye coordination are poor. So, I prefer the website dashboard on my PC. That dashboard keeps directing us to the mobile app. Please assure you will continue maintaining both as I cannot rely solely on the mobile app. Please consider all of your customers when providing tools. Many thanks!

I also did not purchase the Fitbit I was planning on due to the website issue as well.

Bought My Last Fitbit

No Web Site

I'm Gone

I've been an avid Fitbit customer for years and referred many friends to fitbit.  I'm terribly frustrated that browser access is no longer available.  The browser is much easier to record food and view stats.

I've briefly looked at other fitness and nutrition trackers.  If I can find another good option I will switch.  If there's not a good one on the market now, I will keep looking.  I would think someone in the market would see the value of these comments and take advantage of the opportunity for new customers.

No need to switch devices.

Do what I did and sign up for My Fitness Pal. MFP syncs up with the Fitbit mobile app to get your sleep, weight, and calories burned data. MFP has native apps for web, tablets, and mobile phones. The food logging features blow away what Fitbit had and supports portions (this alone is worth the membership price as it will save you a ton of time). I did not realize how bad the Fitbit portal was until I moved to MFP.

My main interest is sleep tracking. One YouTube said that Apple has finally caught up to Fitbit on sleep tracking and is even better. Has anyone here had experience with Apple Watches’ sleep tracking or know of others who have?

Do you have to have both Fitbit Premium and pay for a MyFitnessPal subscription for this to work? I don’t want to pay for both services, especially when the Fitbit site no longer meets my needs.

Moderator Lizzy...

You steadfastly refuse to directly answer the many, many complaints about Google's elimination of Web Dashboard, Window/PC.  We want this function restored as soon as possible.  The new "app" is substantially inferior to the original Fitbit Windows Dashboard.

What do you do with all these complaints?  Is Google corp receiving these messages about the Dashboard?  Do they simply ignore them?  Is there any discussion going on?  Any understanding of what a ridiculous decision the removal is?

Moderator...Please, respond directly and in detail to this issue.   Tell us why the dashboard was senselessly removed, why Google refuses to restore it.  Why does Google refuse to allow any Fitbit device to function with Windows, so many of us can use our laptops?   This makes no sense, and we need it addressed.

Please return the online dashboard! I just purchased a new fitbit 6 and super disappointed I can no longer view stats online. I have poor eyesite and the phone app is very difficult to use. If I had known I would have purchased a different tracker. Very disappointed

Well said! Nowhere in here has there been any explanation of why this
decision was made. Like others have said, right now my FitBit sense2 is
just an expensive watch. I too am considering looking at other options. My
guess is that they are trying to destroy FitBit and thus eliminate
competition for their own fitness watch.

Yes, at 78 I am very familiar with my computer and can type quickly on my keyboard. The phone, on the other hand, is incredibly tedious to enter data on and to navigate. Everything is very small and difficult to see, and I don't know how to move around it and find things. It is like a confusing brain-teaser, frustrating and exhausting to work with.

Learning an entirely new skill at my age is actually a fairly big undertaking, and it seems so unnecessary.

What possible benefit can it be to your users to have LESS options rather than more? Is this a marketing decision? Whatever the reasons behind it, I suspect it was made by people who are young, have excellent eyesight and coordination, and are extremely smart-phone-savvy, not by real-life, more set-in-their-ways, sometimes-clumsy-or-clueless, arthritic, near-sighted, forgetful seniors, who rely on routine and familiar procedures, and need fitness as much or more than young people.

I think removing access to the Dashboard on the computer was a misguided decision, and I hope you will reconsider.

You are correct. That is what they are doing, Just everyone remember when
looking for a new Smartwatch don't buy Google also. Don't use Google as a
search engine. Tell a friend to drop Google or Fitbit

That is my point. They never told anyone by Ads or small print that your
Fitbit would be useless and nothing more then a watch. We all know these
types of decisions are made in years not days.

I haven't used Google in about ten years. I personally use DuckDuckGo, as do my friends. During the last eclipse I saw pictures taken with a Google phone that were outstanding and the young man didn't use any special equipment, just snapped the photos. I'm not going to buy a Google phone just to take pics, though.

They won't they don't care it would cost money to service an older
demographic, their attitude is. Just die already. I'm 71 and i bought a
pixel 2 watch . The google fit app makes the phone fitbit look great,
imagine how bad that is,

Taking away the webUI dashboard was a completely senseless move.  You just knocked out half of your demographics of people who have disabilities.  I've been a Fitbit user for years, most recent device being a pixel watch 2.  I personally do not like the app interface - it is not as intuitive as the webUI dashboard and its difficult to do things I'm used to doing online.  Maybe someone needs to contact the American with Disabilities Act?

Bring back the WebUI dashboard.

Has anyone heard from Fitbit about the website?

The thing to remember is that it was a purely business decision. Buy out and eventually do away with it so that is someone wants to continue tracking they either have to buy yours or go to someone like Garmin or Vital Fit, or even Apple. Do away with your competition, oldest principle in the business world. But while I understand the motivation, if the Google device is worse than the Fitbit device, then why not improve on the Fitbit and keep it going? Cut your losses and keep your customers.

I think it would be tremendously helpful if our Fitbit stats could be viewed from a webpage. Imagine logging into my a page such as my.fitbit.com, and you could see your steps taken, calories burned, hours slept. Sort of like how you can with Garmin. Photo attached to give an example

Changes to Fitbit, or any product, should be positive improvements, not deterioration of capabilities or value. How many millions of us prefer to work on a larger screen than a phone? I find it more efficient, productive, easy and valuable to be able to have a greater view of information. I trusted Fitbit with my information, I used it daily, and I enjoyed seeing the charts and graphs of data that was important to me. Eliminating the web dashboard has taken all of this away from me. I am very disappointed with, and angry at, Google for this arbitrary and punishing tactic aimed at increasing phone use. Shame on you.

Now that you mention it, since fitbit has now been taken over by Google, Google also took away the timeline for maps online which had made a lot of people also upset. They clearly don't care about their customers
