Make Charge 3 quick view more sensitive (so screen turns on easier)

Supposedly rotating your wrist towards you activates the Charge 3 clock face, but mine doesn't seem to respond to rotating...or shaking...or tapping...I usually end up having to push the button to check the time, which is annoying and inconvenient at best. Since displaying the time is the primary function of a watch, can the clock face be made more sensitive to movement? Or better yet, can there be a low-power "always-on" clock face setting that can be activated during the day?

Yes PLEASE! Always On is a function that I really need. Please make it happen!

I agree. There needs to be a choice over the length of time the screen stays on. I had a Garmin and it was always on. The battery had to be charged more often but that was fine. Can’t time anything at the moment

Full agree with this suggestion.   Lack of an always on feature greatly reduces the utility of this device , especially since the wrist flick feature is not reliable.   Should be user controlled on/off to enable battery conversation at a minimum.  3rd option for low light even better.  Need this for both clock and timer modules.

Can we expect the 'Always on' feature in the future, or will it never be developed?

Listen to your customers. Add the feature. I’m about to return this for a different watch. I was okay with my surge battery life and clock face always on.

Just bought Fitbit  - disappointed that this basic feature  (clock display always on) is absent and appears that Fitbit  have done nothing since raised on this forum more than one year ago. Returning to Garmin

Why does this require votes to get always-on display?  It should be a option available to everyone with a simple warning about battery life.  I got this from my health insurance for free but I would definitely not purchase it without a simple clock face that is always there.

Why is always on not an option? - quite useless while exercising

How hard can be to build a watch that shows the time? When I turn my wrist the display does not turn on, it takes a lot of shaking to turn on. I need the always on display when I go workout. Looking at the previous unanswered post I can see that I'll have to go back to my old Garmin.

I bought the Charge 3 for my Mom who Will be 90 soon and in addition to steps and BP like the notifications and silent alarms but am considering returning since the display timeout cannot be changed. many people agree. can we expect a change or update that can be applied to the current version or will we have to get a new device. if it be updated very shortly I will return it

I was gifted a Charge 3. I've noticed dozens of requests by others for an update, since this model was released, that would allow to have the display visible for a longer period of time. I'd like that option too.

This isn't rocket science.

It is now January 2020. Exactly how much longer do you plan to ignore your customer base now that you've been bought by Google?

Very inconvenient regarding the always-blank-clock.

Shame on Fitbit that people having to plead for a basic features. If you can, announce you will add the feature soon, if you can't, tell customers that you can't. Don't ask for votes and keep users involved in this for more than a year. Based on the number of devices you should be able to make a decision on whether to put effort and give that feature ot not.

I am going to buy a different brand as I have been waiting too long for Fitbit to fix the problems. I paid a lot of money for a charge 3 and now I have not been impressed with it so what do you think I will tell people who ask me about it?

I note it has been some time since this issue regarding ‘always on’ watch/timer/ has been raised. When will this be resolved please?

I have tried a few smart watches and finally landed on the Fitbit Charge 3. However, without the always on display feature, I'll probably continue trying other brands. Please give us an update with an always on feature.

An always-on display feature is absolutely needed for the Charge 3. If the fitbit is to replace my conventional watch, I need to be able to see the time without having to shake my hand to wake it up. I love fitbit otherwise, but if this is not addressed, I will no longer upgrade when the next generation comes out.

Always On is a really important feature missing on this device. I haven't noticed this to be missing this feature, or never even thought it could as without this it can't even be a watch replacement in this day and age. Please consider adding this feature as soon as possible.

Is there any progress on this request? I just bought the Charge 3, and am planning to return it since I discovered that it doesn't have always on watch face. This should be an obvious feature for those of us who must have a watch on all the time and don't mind charging the watch more frequently.

Fitbit, it's been a long time since this complaint arose. Yes, it is still a complaint among many of us. Yes, you are losing customers over this simple issue. Yes, I will soon be one of those.

Having always on capabilities seems like the most basic feature of a watch, and the unreliability of the currently offered features of the Charge 3 make me want to go back to my Walmart watch for the ease of use.

You're losing a lot of customers over this simple issue, so hopefully for your business' sake you'll take notice.

My wife bought for herself another Fitbit and I inherited her Charge 3 (switched over from Garmin due to strap issues). As Garmin had the always on feature I can only ask for this option to be provided here as well. If you worry about battery issues or screen burn I think you can also give us a period of time when this can be enabled as always on. Me for one I don't need it when I sleep. Can you tell us if this is in anyway on the roadmap or not?

I am glad to find this forum and know that others also think this is an issue to be fixed!  Not having the always-on feature on my Charge 3 is super annoying and I have thought about not using Charge 3 altogether because of it.  But since my daughter gifted me its still 'on' my wrist for now 🙂  Hopefully this item is addressed before i decide to give up...

Pretty frustrating to see that this thread has sort of kept going into 2020 and it seems fitbit does not intend to change this. Had I known I would not have purchased the Charge 3 at all. I need to be able to see the time by spinning my wrist, my second hand is usually busy. I will be returning my fitbit and switching to something different. That plus the lack of GPS at this price point is not worth it.

I bought the Fitbit Charge 3 after a recommendation in Which.co.uk magazine. If I'd known you could not have the time always om display I would not have puchased it. As others have commented, it is not easy to get the screen to respond to tapping etc. It is preposterous to have a watch that makes it so difficult to readily and quickly see the time. I cannot believe that whoever designed this piece of technology has not addressed such an obvious problem.
