Make Heart Rate Data export in Excel/CSV format

Please add the heart rate data to the reports that can be downloaded/exported.  The ones for the activity and sleep are perfect but since I have a pacemaker I really need to have one to print out for my cardiologist showing how often I rise above the set pace.

Thank you

In the daily heart chart I couldn't find an onscreen Print Button so that I could quickly print that page.

That would be convenient

There are so many ways this can be useful. I'm personally wanting to use it to monitor my heart rate as I start new medicines. I need to be able to export it to show my doctor!

I had excellent help from Auke at info@annovating.com.  He supplied me with very helpful daily Fitbit heart rate data (graphs, etc.) for my heart clinic review last week.  My doctors were very impressed.  This was my data I could not download/export myself from the Fitbit database.

Thank you Auke.

I agree that a heart rate tracker function could have remarkable benefits for physical and mental health management!    Imagine being able to notice signs/symptoms of anger, or fear, or anxiety, even a panic attack, and immediately institute self-soothing measures to ground yourself.  Imagine being able to catch early indications of a-fib, WPW, and other arrhythmias.  So much potential!  Some insurance companies may begin to reimburse for fitbit HRs, and imagine what that would do to your profits!!

I'd also really like to export a list of the resting heart rate my fitbit is calculating versus the date. How can I vote for that?

I would really like to be able to download the pulse rate data, for whatever reason I have a low heart rate and am physically fit. I have had treadmill stress tests and passed fine. I do need to track the pulse rate data though, are there any other products that people recommend that do that?

It would be great if Fitbit would support this.  Search for other posts I've made for more info on using a defined Activity to view your information on the screen.  In a nutshell you only get 300-400 data points even if you define a 24 hour activity.  To get all the data, you have to access their database with their API.  Several of the folks on the forum have written applications or created a web site that allows you do this.  All the solutions require more or less prep to get your data the first time.  For example, I scheduled my Windows program through the Windows task manager.  Every night it goes out an automatically downloads the last three days of data (providing overlap in case a previous day got missed for whatever reason).  It then automatically creates an Excel file for each day.  You could also choose to create a csv file. See parseheartrate.com for more information and to download the program.  Good luck.

I did this to catch A-Fib events.  It is somewhat successful if you can see that your heart rate jumped while you are sleeping.  But an optical heart rate meter will never be able to give an accurate heart rate once you are in A-Fib.  Someone mentioned their doctor wanted them to get an EKG.  ANYONE with A-Fib should absolutely purchase the $99 Kardia sensor from AliveCor that works with Android or Apple smart phones.  You can take an accurate two-lead EKG which is uploaded to the cloud dashboard where you can give your doctor access directly, or you can save it as a PDF and email it to him/her.

The new Apple watch is the most intriguing for getting actual alerts of likely A-Fib episodes.  Unfortunately it won't work for me because I have an android smartphone.  If you have A-Fib and a recent iPhone that would be a no brainer.

I too need the heart rate data and my sleep data for my doctors.  I find it quite ridiculous that it is not available (even as a more detailed form of the graphics on the phone app) on the desktop.

This should be such a simple thing - to me more important than steps or stairs.

Please add the feature where you can email (or at the very least, print) heart rate monitor detail so it can be shared with specialists.

I'd like to see this implemented as well.  I currently have other daily stats being exported to a google spreadsheet via ifftt, but was sad to learn that apparently fitbit does not allow the heart rate data to be a part of that.  I primarily wear my fitbit because I need to monitor my heart rate - it seems very counterintuitive to me that this data is not available for export while other data is.

Hey Fitbit, I’m hoping you guys monitor this thread.

i can help you with the user experience for this.

Basically all the data on the home screen and the exercises should be exportable. The data is there already it’s just a matter of you guys formatting it so it can be dumped to a .csv file.

Gary. ✌🏼

Detailed heart rate data can be exported. You just have to use the right tools to get it.

Bear in mind that Fitbit data is not of medical quality.

How?

What tools please?

@Aerobatic51Off the top of my head, two pre-baked options are here and here. There are several other tools mentioned earlier in this and other topics.

If you want to roll your own solution, the tools are documented here.

This would be incredibly helpful. I recently had a Zio XT device lost in the mail, and I'd love to be able to share my daily HR data from Fitbit with my cardiologist rather than having to wear a separate, less comfortable monitor for another week. Making HR data exportable would open up many health applications. Right now, my best option is to take weeks' worth of screen shots from my online dashboard.

Additionally, it seems to me to be a data rights issue that I'm not able to export my own heart rate data.

Fitbit, please add this HR functionality as soon as possible. Thank you!

Surprised that I cannot export my heart rate data when I am logged into the browser dashboard.  I wanted to get a better view of my heart rate at specific times, and to download all the data as well.  I can see other options to download my data - but when I tried those, none of them include heart rate data. Browser dashboard does not even show me much of anything useful related to my heart rate -- just some basic small box that I cannot even click on to open up and expand to see more detail. Yet through the iPhone app, I can access more graph options and historical views -- even though there it is very limited on zooming into the graphs to get a better view of data points. You would think that the browser would at the very least provide the same views as the app, but also allow access into greater detail of the data collected.  And of course download all of the heart rate data!  I have been wearing my FitBit for over a year, primarily to monitor my heart rate throughout the day.  Recently I had gallbladder surgery, and I have noticed quite an increase in my heart rate that started at two weeks after surgery and persists even at 7 weeks post-op, both while resting and during general activity (yet my resting HR is definitely below 90 bpm, so doctor is not concerned).  Many others have posted here in comments that they are also using their FitBits to monitor heart rate for medical reasons too.  Seems VERY surprising that this feature does not just already exist -- and more so that this enhancement request was made over a year ago too - with over 2500 votes - and still not implemented.

please fill the hert rate column in the export, currently there is a column, but the heart rate is put to zero. Is it a bug?

Yet another Fitbit feature request thread that is older than the two years and they have yet to implement despite it being under consideration... *sigh*

Stepping Up

I've had a Charge2 for a while.  I gradually went from not running at all to training for races.  I want to focus on trail running although 1/2 of my training is in city areas.  For motivation and curiosity and wanting to get better, I am now on the search for a more technical watch.  Other fitbit folks probably also progressed and may wish to see more data that can help them improve.  I like Fitbit and would love to stick with it but I want a Fitbit with all of the features of a Garmin 645 (with none less than the Charge 2).  That includes a barometric altimeter (ideally) and being able to retrieve my heart rate and default the heart rate from a chest strap such as a polar H10.  That way, I can use the Fitbit most of the time but while I am sprinting I can use a more accurate chest strap.  Is there anything much more technical in development?
