Make sleep score optional

Suggested idea is to have the sleep score optional !

We should be able to choose if we have the score or not , I hate feeling like I failed my sleep!

Let's hope this isn't just lip service.

Because if it doesn't get fixed, I'm definitely selling my fitbit going to Garmin.

I agree completely - getting a "score" for my sleeping habits is irritating!

I want to get rid of the score and look at the interesting information, like how long I slept, in what stage.

Please update the app, so we can opt out!

@LizzieFitbit this is excellent news. I hope a decision is made to make the sleep score optional. Your message indicates that "it can take some time before updates are available or a release is finalized." The original request for this change was on 7-19-2019, a full two months ago. Many people have been suffering with the useless sleep score for two months now. I hope your developers can figure out how to bring back what was previously in place without having to re-invent the wheel (that already existed) so we don't have to wait much longer to have back what we already had. Also please let your developers know that what people want is to have the same view we had previously that showed the average week's sleep time above the horizontal bars for each day, and the ability to scroll down that list to see previous weekly averages. This is the useful info that is now buried behind a handful of pages we have to cycle through, and when you get to it the way it's presented isn't nearly as useful as it was previously. Thanks for listening . . . please don't make us wait much longer. Because I am literally just a few days away from replacing my Fitbit, and I've used various models for almost 5 years.

Also...to revert to the average night sleep should not require a development. Fitbit already had that capability.

I for one am not impressed. Look how long it’s taken to receive that half hearted ‘maybe we will but maybe we won’t’ response. The arrogance is unreal. Just do it! How many more users do you need to complain?! Maybe their being on watchdog yesterday and scoring so low on accuracy might be helping them listen. Other watches /competitors are starting to gain and surpass them so they really need to sit up and watch ( and listen). I took my Fitbit off over a week ago and doubt I’d put it back on after this fiasco. Zero confidence or trust in them now.

Hello,

I am not a fan of sleep score. I'd like the option to disable that feature. Being forced to see it is so unpleasant that I want to switch trackers.

Thank you for your consideration.

Yes it could be! But only if Fitbit decides to. All these comments and management remains inactive. Abandoning any responsibility to their customers.

And Fitbit management doesn’t seem to care. Where’s the loyalty and responsiveness to your customers???

Agree. Please allow the option to completely turn off sleep score or choose weekly average hours slept at the header of each week, along with the first graph you see being hours slept.

Having average sleep per week showing is better than a sleep score which is based on something unknown

Should be easy to add a toggle to the app to turn it off and restore the old layout

I hate sleep score.

I used to feel chuffed if I got a green star for achieving 8 hours sleep.

Now, even when I do have 8 hours, my sleep is rated as FAiR. This just makes me mad.

I think it is unconscionable that Fitbit is now grading my sleep. I’ve been struggling with looking at this every day. According to your S-1 filing made in May of 2015, your mission statement is to help "people lead healthier, more active lives by empowering them with data, inspiration, and guidance to reach their goals." For those of us who fight through PTSD every day to keep moving forward, being arbitrarily graded is one more reminder in how I’m not what I used to be. You’ve taken something that used to be a win for me, seeing I’d slept more than a couple of hours, and made it a slap in the face when I sleep more  hours that are rated “poor”.  Helping people live healthier, active lives has to includes mental health. Please allow us to go back to the number of hours slept and turn off the sleep scores, and do it quickly.

Wow, completely agree, how can you argue with that?

Well put @LP33

I used to look forward to looking at my data everyday and now I'd dread it. "am i going.to score good or not?"

I completely agree. Please make the sleepscore optional.

I am glad I’m not the only one. I find this feature very unhelpful and confusing and most of all ... it is discouraging.  Please allow us the option to remove it.

Hi, we aren’t asking for a ‘development’, but rather to bring back something that was working. Hope you take into consideration what your loyal customers are requesting. We will keep our fingers crossed - and also for the old dashboard... thank you for reading this.
Kind regards, Inara

Hi @VanessaSee, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback about having the option to disable the sleep score, this feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your post here as it is  currently "Under consideration". This helps maintain the Community and the Feature Suggestion board more organized.

Maybe you can work on why it won't stay connected.

Your suggestion makes sense to everybody except the people at Fitbit. They are opposed, preoccupied with the survival of the company which is not a surprise given their total lack of concern for their customers.
