I 100% agree. Will look into changing for another brand shortly if this annoying sleep scores are not remved shortly. Totally useless numbers of nonsense. I really want the average sleep time back.
Avantis, this is the first time I even saw a sleep score added. It does take away from the quality sleep I get when I adjust two sleeps and apparently my sleep quality is 60 when my total sleep was over my 6 hours goal sleep So I am quickly taking this with a grain of salt while checking out the best sleep apps. I'm also hearing through the grapevine that Google is the company that is most interested in Fitbit and our Fitbit devices are able to sync easily with Google Fit. So we might as well check out Google Fit more. Also with the ten challenge limit, I am using Stridekick which offers unlimited challenges, Add to this app the scammer issues, and it is looking like Google will need to be more diligent at making sure potential scammers have a Fitbit Device to use this app, or they will be unable to join our community and promote their own agenda.
Sleep score should be optional. I’ve been working for 3 years to get from 4-5 hours of sleep a night to 6 1/2. Sleep scores in the 70’s are so counterproductive.as they don’t tell my how the score is arrived at. And while I’m at it your settings should include shifting to larger font and high contrast. Not all Fitbit users have 22-year old eyes. Get some ADA smarts.
I hate the sleep score! I want to see the average amount of sleep I get and the sleep score is not accurate. I just compared two nights on my sleep score with almost identical numbers in every category and on one of the scores I got a 63 - the other an 84! This is not only frustrating, but totally depressing and demotivating. I wish I could download the pictures of both nights, as I took screen shots, but I see there's no way to do that on this forum. Plus, the only way for me to see why almost identical sleeps numbers would result in such a huge difference in sleep scores is to PAY more money for the Premium feature. I also tried this feature for the 7 day trial and was not impressed with the "extra" info which really didn't explain anything. Give us back the average sleep time and let us deactivate the sleep score feature!
Who ever thought that ‘grading’ sleep was a good idea? I couldn’t loathe the ‘sleep score’ more, it is awful. Why would I want to wake up every morning with a C or a B when I’m used to being a straight-A student? How do you even achieve an A? Can I study for this exam?
Come on, Fitbit, use common sense here. An arbitrary grade for sleep means absolutely nothing. I want to know how long I slept; I don’t want to be graded on it.
It’s the worst idea since Betamax.
in order to succeed we must be able to admit our failure. Admit it, Fitbit, this idea failed.
Definitely let us turn it off! Well put, but I don't see Fitbit doing anything about this option or responding to our requests. Maybe an Apple watch or another device is a better option!
My thought is if Fitbit did listen, we would not have the dashboard that you want back. I say this because the last two major changes where met with just as much animosity, even though all three changes contained much requested suggestions by the user. However as with those changes in sure that there will be improvements in future months.
How many votes do we need? They need to do a survey to find out just how many people want to disable the sleep score option. At any rate, there was no need to force it on us and not give us an option to shut it off.
I completely agree - sleep score is judgemental, and as someone who struggles with their sleep at times I'm never going to get a "perfect" nights sleep and end up feeling demoralised. Even a good night's sleep at 80 there's still 20 points I didn't get! It's also patronising - I'm perfectly capable at looking at the data myself and drawing my own conclusions especially as I have my own subjective experience and know what was going on for me at the time. It's also important to listen to how you feel - having a number like this oversimplifies the whole thing and in effect is telling me how I ought to feel based on the sleep I've had. This is NOT helpful. I really wish I could switch it off.
Resting heart rate when sleeping is important because generally the higher your heart rate, the more at risk you are for things like sleep apnea and sleep deprivation. Also, it shows if you're overtraining in your fitness program. So I would much rather see the heart rate in there not sleep score rating because that tells the link between a good sleep an average sleep, a crappy sleep, and a deep sleep. Sleep score is an arbitrary number that should neither be shown here nor should it be considered a true indicator of your actual sleep. I think we need more relevant information about false positives. My best sleeps have not come with a high sleep score, but with a total sleep over my goal whether the sleep quality was 62 or higher. I don't see how less than 5 hours of sleep would result in much more than 65. And while I get the suggestion of a suggested interim sleep goal, you can get so caught up in seeking to attain it that you miss out on the purpose of sleep.
You can actually see the sleeping rate with premium but it's buried 2 menus deep and it's a PITA to get to it because the user interface for premium is so poor. Especially if you want to track it say over the course of a week.
The whole reason for the sleep score is to induce people into paying for premium. Fitbit thinks we are all stupid
I can't see myself buying the Fitbit app because in the time they brought in this recent upgrade, I have seen issues from disappearing stats to problems with picking up my Fitbit device via Bluetooth, to having issues again with IMs, et al. I can only imagine the headache the paid version of this app would be. This is already enough of a headache...I am happy to have Stridekick to work with as well. And why the ten challenge limit when some people in our challenges forget to synch within the twelve-hour limit. And Fitbit already knows we aren't all into spending money on an app that has these problematic upgrades before we are ready for them. I also know some iPhone users for whom this last massive upgrade either rendered their account obsolete or used up too much storage to be useful. Either way, when these kinds of upgrades are made, there should be time to think these decisions through and realize how much this app is causing issues even for newer phones and Android OSes! Hmmm!!!
Sleep Score is useless. One of my favorite features was average sleep time, which is now gone or briefly visible before moving to sleep score. Please just bring average sleep time back. You can either make sleep score optional or turn it off entirely. But please just bring back average sleep score as the primary sleep measure on the dashboard. Sleep Score is an unwanted, annoying feature.
My posts keep being deleted by Edson but he won't tell me why. He asked me to "reach out" to him but he won't reach back. Taking down posts makes it seem our little movement here is losing steam. No. We're just having our free speech quashed. Let's see how long this post stays up.
I decided this morning I am done wearing the Charge 3. Besides hating the sleep score and disturbing lights that flash on the Fitbit during the night which also interferes with the production of melatonin and disrupts sleep so why bother! Plus, I have developed rashes on my wrist and even moved it to the other wrist to see if it was due to the device and sure enough I developed another rash on the opposite wrist. Furthermore, I just did research and found you can turn the airplane mode to on with an Apple watch and stay disconnected from Wifi until you want to sync the info the watch has collected. The airplane mode is ON the device which is what I really need. This means I could wear an Apple Watch without the harmful radiation that I am getting from the Fitbit. Plus Apple has great customer service. I am not looking for anything fancy and the Apple 3 is only $199.
Hmmm, if Google is interested in Fitbit that might be why they are not fixing the Sleep score. Google buys Fitbit and they come in like a hero and make the sleep score optional. Googleis able to do what Fitbit can not do and we love them back. There, Sleep score mystery solved . . . Thank you
Completely agree. I HATE sleep score and would much rather see my graph rather than having to click through everything. Same with the alarm - this app is a pain in the neck!!
