@SunsetRunner I am less concerned with Fitbit now that Google has bought them out. If Apple had done this, I would be concerned. Price and affordability would be an issue. Garmin would be my second choice. Not being an Apple person makes my choices easier. Apple is good for some but is a detriment to others. I have tried some of their products before...Safari is the best of its internet apps. Google is one of the top-notch companies but as always they need to take the high road on privacy issues. Every tech gadget has issues of its own and |I would be amiss to suggest that Apple products don't have their lemons!
This discussion has become too contentious for me. The only reason I have been posting here for several months is to add my voice to those negatively impacted by the sleep score. No one here knows me or my financial status. I have purchased another device that I like very much and that is my prerogative. And, I am sleeping better. Do all the speculating you like over why I have put my FitBit in a drawer, no one here knows my intentions for doing so, now or in the future. I will continue to watch the developments of the Google FitBit buyout and any decisions on the sleep score. I have my reasons for doing so, even if the only reason is simple curiosity.
Today is World Kindness Day so, @Runner0001@Granacher@DALwpg, et al, who have offered kind comments and health suggestions with me, thank you. I am now using TENS for my pain and have enjoy reading "Zen and the Art of Happiness".
I'm out too. This doesn't help my insomnia and my comments tend to become acerbic when I'm in that phase. Getting drawn into these arguments seems to feed a negative part of me.
You're not wrong but I tend to lash out at those who defend Fitbit, attacking them when they aren't the problem, just apologists for the problem. It's not fair to them or to the others who are reading to keep up with any developments. It's frustrating not getting any response except to delete talk they don't like.
It's just more negativity to bounce around in my head while I'm trying to sleep. I thought I could help but that's not the result. And doing the same thing over and over again while expecting different results....
Thank you fiddlegrrl. I appreciate your compliment.
A little kindness every day makes me feel better. Whether I provide it or receive it the result is the same. I have appreciated your thoughtful articulate comments and your contributions and help in ensuring people understand the very real personal impacts that have happened to people.
We all need sleep and living in the central time zone it is time for me to turn in. I am hoping for a good few hours. I hope you enjoyed a little kindness coming your way today fiddlegrrl. All the best.
Full time shift worker here. Insulted by Fitbit’s complete disregard and ignorance of those of us for whom sleep often happens in bits and pieces. A 4.5 hr sleep between 12 hr shifts is not ‘Poor’ - it is sometimes all I can squeeze in and I’m happy to have it!! The ‘average sleep’ numbers were FABULOUS because it allowed me to track my sleep over the course of a week and plan bigger or more frequent blocks of sleep time if I was ‘running low’. (Shift workers will understand that 2 short ‘poor’ sleeps in one day when switching over from Nights to Days can be a Good thing!) And don’t bother telling me to waste time logging into some program to get the info I need ... Fitbit, are u aware of how people use apps? They should provide useful information at a glance. They should not offer up inane, arbitrary judgments of a person’s work schedule. Please get rid of the Sleep Score, or at least give shift workers back the useful average hours function.
I agree with @TheVinny! And the love-in with Apple...good you can afford it...the rest of us don't have that kind of money to just replace this Charge 2 with something like an iWatch that kind of scares me. My family is big on Apple but we are big on tried and true...Fitbit, Microsoft, and others that are in our ballpark. Instead of talking about moving on, feel free to do so. The rest of us here won't need to be a part of your discontent. Google's purchase of Fitbit actually shows me that Fitbit is wanting to move forward...with or without the flip flops here. And there are always ways to work around these issues...such as @WavyDavey 's suggestion to go to the dashboard here. But if you're gonna leave for a few minor issues like this, be my guest! I can only go with my own Fitbit experience, and my patience with them is integral. Just because I enjoy using my Fitbit doesn't mean I am a moderator or someone who's in the up and up here. I just prefer to stick with my early birthday gift over fruitless complaining. So if you like iWatch, have at it. I will continue to hang my hat here...not only for the improvements to come...but also for the ability I have here to help others dealing with anxiety or mental health issues. Switching to an iWatch would not solve anything for me...I would just be using the same watch my family uses. I choose to be different...and that's why I will be a Fitbit user for years to come! And I won't be pressured into upgrading to the top of the line paid version. We all beat to our own drums.
Hi @MH69,thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us, this feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your post here to keep this board organized.
Hello @MH69 and @bruinsgirl33 ,If you have a Charge 3 or newer, you can see your sleep average on your android app. Unfortunately, if you have a Charge 2 or older, you'll need to log into this on your laptop and click Dashboard above then double-click Sleep to see your sleep without a sleep score. That's the best we can do until it becomes an option for everyone. You might need the paid version of Fitbit to have that optional feature. Hopefully it is an option for the rest of us.
I see no indication that they're "trying". I'm not sure how their silence & refusal to even *acknowledge* our concerns is indicative of any sign on Fitbit's part that they value their customers.
At this point, the fact that they are completely ignoring their users who have posted over a thousand comments on a thread that started last JULY
speaks volumes to me. It's been "under consideration" for two months. Just how much more feedback do they need for the simple request to make a feature optional?
Fitbit has just released something, go check out, just released to see it. Please don't be rude. And no profanity, it's very rude, and I know what youre thinking, "why is a random person saying this?" She's a **ahem**. Well guess what!?
I was not rude, used no profanity, and I have no idea what Fitbit just "released". I just know I see a useless and demotivating "sleep score" on my app and lots of requests to make it optional, which Fitbit has not yet addressed.
