Guys, there's no need to be rude about it. Fitbit will do what Fitbit wants to do, and if you aren't happy about it, well.... Not my problem.
The reason is, Fitbit has a lot of feature suggestions, and they are working as hard as they can to try and make the communtiyhappy, they are working through the suggestions one step at a time.
They are hard-working, and they are just trying to help, if you have a problem with it, just know that they are really trying hard to be a good company, and you all are just being rude, and Fitbit is not to blame for this. It's us.
@lifebmad, you do realize that Fitbit has been releaseing the features? Just be patient and wait for the day it comes out, could be next week could be tomorrow! No one knows when they will get to it.
Might be a good time for members to know which people posting on the forums are Moderators or Fitbit Employees. click to learn how
There are also Fitbit Community Council members, but they are not employees of Fitbit, merely members, like everyone else, who keep track of their steps. click to learn more about CC
Healthy debate is good when all sides are included. Many comments have been deleted, including some of mine, so moderators don't appear to allow a free-for-all here.
Though accusations have been made i don't think anybody here is a Fitbit moderator in disguise as a consumer. Just my two cents though. And if so they've had little effect here as most all comments say the same thing; that sleep score is a step backwards and useless and even like an insensitive/unwanted grade to many.
I DO think Fitbit made a significant mistake by switching the sleep average default view now to a useless sleep score default view. THat's not our fault, it would be Fitbit's fault entirely and why they have to take the heat and why these forums exist. But I also agree with those that think the ability to have an OPTION for sleep score will be made soon, just as the title of this thread was changed (many times) to now reflect what is being considered.
All in all Fitbit being purchased by Google probably has something to do with the delay to make the score optional at this time but seems reasonable that it will happen. And if it doesn't at least I can live with having my sleep averages still available. But if I were a betting man I'd bet sleep score will be an option that can be removed for users fairly soon.
Because it would be dishonest. Most people find dishonesty to be a bad thing. Not sure why you'd need that to be explained to you.
That is also patently false. If they were trying, we wouldn't see a wishy-washy "Under Consideration" after so many pages of complaints. All we get is, "Hah, maybe later", "Keep those suggestions coming - we'll be sure to also ignore them" and "I don't like your post, so I'll delete it." It's all damage control and no action.
This is not behaviour at all representative of a company that is "trying". Hence the suspicion cast on you as a shill.
Terms of Service - click - are the guidelines used by Moderators to keep the forums on track. This thread is about the suggestion on sleep score, nothing more. Moderators have the ability to edit, delete or move any posts or suggestions as they feel necessary.
Amateur mistake. I didn't even look at the dates. 5 years puts it back when users were first asking for heart rate zones (still under consideration). Does anyone know when's the last time Fitbit actually listened and responded to feedback?
I agree that if someone differs from others at times we seem to be Fitbit moderators or something else. Just because we don't agree, Vinny and I are only trying to say don't assume we are part of the Fitbit team. I have been using my Fitbit since June of 2018 so I am allowed to be patient. I've seen a lot of things here that I like (being able to see entire DM conversations) and things like the sleep score, by the way, which other sleep apps also use...so we might need to see what Google is willing to do. If other apps use the sleep score we might need to be more specific about what sleep score does for our psyche. I think of it as a false positive at times. But we need to think in terms of making a case for why it should be optional. And saying simply I don't like it likely won't fly! Okay, what don't you like about it? What we need to be is more detail-oriented so Fitbit and Google see that it is a detriment to our sleep habits. Having dealt with mental illness, I am not one to shy away from the need to keep sleep a priority. And to me, sleep totals and averages will always be king. I might do an average sleep score just for basic stats, but we all know what it is individually that makes or breaks the sleep score for us.
I feel you. Normally I am too but attention to detail is one of the first casualties of insomnia. I'm in that mode now. Comes and goes. A bullying sleep number oddly doesn't seem to help.
Please, please make this “feature” optional! I don’t understand how the sleep score works, and I don’t want to - I only want to know how long I slept. Sleep tracking (by hours) was the reason I bought a fitbit, and the reason I recommended it to many friends. I don’t want to track my sleep based on a metric that someone else just created. It’s stressful to look at, and i’d love the option to go back to the old way!
My take on this problem was to use another app to view my health data. My Omron bp meter delivers all data fully automatically to Apple Health so I thought doing something similar for Fitbit would be fine. I bought the FitnessSync.me app an converted my data to Health. But apparently Fitbit’s API does not deliver all data so the result is not as I expected. I find this disrespectful and unfair by Fitbit, it is my data!
To phrase it politely, I’m not sure that my next wearable will be a Fitbit, also because the sale to Google concerns me.
