Manual entry of Stairclimber (add floors/distance)

The Fitbit doesn't register floors climbed on Steppermills and Stair Masters.

It would be great if we could manualy add floors to our daily totals.

Obviously we are already adding steps / calories / active minutes from doing the exercise... just want to add the floors.

Thanks

I think it's time to start tweeting Mr. James Park's account and emailing him directly (Google it) since his developers don't take these forums seriously....  Can't say we all didn't try to get it the nice way...

Have new fitbit charge 2 and I cannot manually log my 215 stairmaster floors in one hour yesterday? Unbelievable!

Need to manually add number of floors In the app, yes?

StairMaster® stairmaster stair master and other stairclimber equipment at the gym or at home can accurately report floors climbed. Fitbit, why can't I correct bad data or enter good data (floors climbed) — why?

It would be SO beneficial to manually add stairs to charge 2.  But it seems as if fitbit isn't listening to the multiple pages of requests...

I had to unsubscribe just to not be bothered all the time with this request that Fitbit doesn't seem to give a rats **ahem** about, despite the fact that so many want this adjustment.

I filled out a 'satisfaction' survey letting them know how displeased I was with them not adding this feature. Totally sucks. These devices aren't cheap.

The forum exists to keep you off the internet where you could actually have an impact on them.
In short, Fitbit don't give a s**t.

You're right they don't. I have emailed them several times. I finally filled out a survey expressing my dissatisfaction with the customer service aspect and honoring our requests as users and supporters of their company. Ugh!

FLOORS is one of the more interesting and unique features but it does NOT work. For this reason I have just RETURNED my FitBit Charge 2 to COSTCO. NO way to correct ERRONEOUS data, no way to manually add Stair Machine data. BOO.

On rainy days I do 150-200 floors on a Stair Machine. On sunny days I hike 5-10 miles with 2000-3000 foot ascent.

Wiith no way to log manual floors from a stair machine, my stats are way off, making my Fitbit nearly useless.

No thank you, FitBit!

I have now started messaging them daily on their Facebook page, maybe if more would do that we can get them to at least respond that they are, or are not working on their product failure and the fix to allow manual addition or subtraction of floors.

Link their fb page so we can all get on it.

You should email fitbit and let them know they lost a customer because of this! Maybe if enough of us complain via email and not the blog maybe it will help. Just a thought. Enjoy your day.

Clicked message and restated the problem.

The reply I just got back via messenger:

"Thanks for reaching out, Jim. You can be assured that our product development team consults the Feature Suggestion board regularly to ensure we're delivering on what our customers need and want. It's worth noting that it takes some time for the requests to reach completion. We'll share news as soon as we're able. We appreciate your patience."

Man "takes some time" ......3 years and 8 pages on the subject....

I'm going to flush my Fitbit.

I also just posted on their Facebook, great idea.

Let the flushing of Fitbits commence.

Because the fitbit uses a barometric decrease in pressure to measure floors, it doesn't give credit for a legitimate (and strenuous) activity like a stairmaster.  It WILL however give you credit for 5 floors if you walk around inside an elevator that goes from B to G to 1, 2, 3, and 4.  I found this out accidentally while on my way to a doctors appointment.  Since my body knows that the stairmaster is real exercise and that the elevator is not, it seems that the fitbit ought to mirror that reality, if only by allowing you to manually enter your floors.

And in regard to Badges, people who are out to game the system for a silly badge can find multiple ways to do so.  On the other hand, people who are actually working to receive a motivational badge should not be penalized because they forgot their fitbit, or had to enter their activity manually for some other reason.

I'm in total awe that we still after hundreds of requests can not adjust or activity. This one missing feature still upsets me. Some people have found their Facebook page and started posting the requests there and deficits also. I think I will do that too.

PLEASE allow manual editing number of floors. I walk up the same flight of stairs multiple times a day. When I walk up at night it typically does not register. During the day it does. I don't know why. I have tried swinging my arm. It doesn't help.

When I noticed that it sometimes didn't register a flight I started a habit of touching my toes before I start climbing then at the top I raise my hand over my head.  That gives a bigger difference in altitude and the FitBit counts every flight now.

I also touch my toes and reach my hand over my head before stairs and it works (as long as you're not on a stair-climber).  However, I paid $150 for this thing to count floors and I look awful silly touching my toes and reaching for the ceiling before walking up flights of stairs.

Agree with others. I would like to manually add floors or steps (stairs climbed) i have a flex 2 which doesn't have the altimeter needed for this feature, but i live in a 5 storey house, so feel I am losing out on this data

Three years of this and nothing. It's obvious the requests are falling on deaf ears. I give up. This fitbit will be my last. And I own stock in the company! Sheesh. Not for much longer. What a waste of potential.

I would also love to manually enter the elevation (then calculated to floors in the app) displayed on a treadmill after a workout.  Please add this feature to the app!

I have a season pass to the water park and I walk there every week. If you are not going to make a waterproof fitbit that has a altimeter then at least add the ability to log floors manually.  It's not that hard to keep track of the number of floors climbed at the park.

Looks like we've been asking for this feature for, going on, three years now ... are you all planning on including this feature? There could be a make-or-break point between continuing on as a fitbit customer and jumping ship to garmin / apple watch.
