More Accurate Battery Life or % in Mobile App

I have owned a Fitbit Charge HR for about 2.5 weeks now. Using the battery life indicator icon on the dashboard on my iPhone or IPad, I was shocked to see that I was at one-half reserve or less by the second day after full charge. I have no notifications permitted and only sync when I open the apps ( few times in 24 hours.) When I plugged in the Fitbit to recharge, however, the battery reserve always showed much greater than the dashboard icon reported. "What gives?" I asked. So, today I called your trusty tech support staff who has just confirmed that the battery life icon on the dashboard only has three "levels" it can report: full, medium, and low. Hmmmm. Not so cool.

OK, guys, please revise your onboard firmware and app software to more accurately reflect the true status of the battery reserve when checking into the dashboard. The "new dashboard" graphics have not addressed this issue. Otherwise, a lot of folks are going to be charging their devices unnecessarily rather than tracking all the fun on wrist or ankle, where they belong. Thanks!

I agree.

Thanks for putting a more accurate %, but it is buried pretty deep.

PaulTO can you explain how you found it?

I was not 100% clear. I made it easier to navigate to the charge% on my Charge 2, not the iPhone.

This works for me a lot better, so I no longer care if I have it on my iPhone.

If this is works for you....

- in iPhone, Go to Charge 2 at top

- select Menu Items - remove the ones that you don't care to see or change the order. I moved Battery to the top.

I can now see battery from my Charge 2 with one click on the side button. (OK one click once the display is on)

I also changed the initial screen that see by changing the Clock face to the fifth one, then changed the "Customise Display" to show Hourly activity and Stair Count first. These are the two things that I am most interested in during the day at a glance.

NOTE: These are not new features as far as I can tell. It was just not clear to me that I could do these things. Maybe if they put "Customise Display" and "Menu Items" up with "Clock Face" it would be clearer that they work together.

Bottom Line: I can track my hourly step count with a flick of my wrist, and got FitBit Flyer for the first time!!. (My score is a sad 2) And every morning I check my charge% with a flick and a click.

Hi, having a fitbit flex and will move on to flex 2 next week and I was wondering if it is possible to add battery level on the mobile app and win 10 app. today it says like full or half full....

Half full could perhaps be 40% or 60%... and that is a huge difference...

Thanks!

I would love to see a % for the battery life, for example instead of just having it day full in green med in orange and low in red it would be nice to see 100% or maybe 90%, 80%and so on the can syill be green orange and red, this way you can see how low your fitbit tracer is. 5-10% it will need a charge before you go to the store and you will know its not going to die on you while your out.

It would be nice to see this in the dashboard as I only have the flex, but for the trackers that have more of a display im sure people would like to know the battery% on their trackers

Hope to see this feature in an uodate soon thanks for your time and so far im loving my flex 😃

Please add the ability to be able to see the exact percentage of battery charge remaining via the iOS mobile app.  Thank you!

We all keep asking for this future. It is now two years since this post
started but Fitbit take no notice. Perhaps that is why the popularity of
their products is starting to wane.

I believe Fitbit did take notice as the Charge 2 does have a % Battery on
the device itself. I just wish they would show some love to the people that
bought previous models and provide a firmware upgrade for them.

Where? I have a charge 2 and don't have anything like that. Have I missed a firmware upgrade?

I absolutely love the idea of showing the actual battery percentage on the Fitbit devices! Also, have a notification on the app when your battery is down to 25% and 10% so that someone has time to get it charged. It's nice knowing how much battery life is left because I get really paranoid if I don't have my Fitbit charged. I work overnights in a hospital and there isn't anyone to bring me a charger if my Fitbit Blaze dies. The Blaze currently does not have this option or it's the iOS app.

I don't know why fitbit engineer could only indicate the battery in low, medium and full but a cheap miband 2 could indicate the battery in %.( not to mention this miband 2 could last for 20 days although their function is less ) Why can't the engineers modify the app.

Now I saw that this battery indicator in % request started from 2013 but till now there is no action. Pls do something.

I agree, I have had my traker die when I was out shopping, and if I would
have known the % of my trakers battery before leaving I would have charged
it

If showing the % battery left is too much precision for the app, a little more precision would be appreciated.  For example, show when it's full,  3/4, 1/2, 1/4, and almost empty (10%?) -- or even by thirds!  Right now, my One seems to be full for a day or so, then half full for days and days and then suddenly empty.  So, i plug it in when it's half full, thinking if I wait much longer, it'll suddenly be empty (cause it's done that before), but half the time, I'm surprised to see it's maybe 2/3rds full still!

Thanks.

I was very surprised when I charged up my Charge HR last night and a battery indicator wasn't on the device.

I was even more surprised to see so many different topics about it (dating back to 2013), each topic having thousands of votes...but, still this feature hasn't been added.  Why is that?

Can you add this to the Fitbit Flex
ovalwhisper97

Kindly add a battery percentage feature in the fitbit app instead of full, medium and empty.

When am charging my charge HR the app says battery full even before a 100% charge. Having a percentage will really be useful.

I have owned most fitbit's and none display the battery as a percentage. I have a Blaze currently and that's the same. I have an Apple Watch and that shows a percentage. I even bought a MiBand from Xiaomi for £8 (from CEX). That only has 3 leds but the battery percentage is showed via the app, it's IP67 certified and shows number of days used.

This would be superb for a Fitbit. See the battery percentage in the app (for a Fitbit Flex 2) or on the device (Blaze). Look in the app and it also shows "last charged - 3 days ago"

Sometimes my device shows low battery and dies a few hours later. Other times low and I get 2 days.

Pebble showed percentage as well. Maybe use their expertise to help!

See above for how it would look

Battery life showing "full" on app when Fitbit tells me it's 85%, 88%, 90% is unacceptable - especially since the whole 15% of the battery drain was within 24 hrs on a new Fitbit. I was hoping to remove battery level from my menu on Fitbit so it'll be one less click to go back to the original screen.

I can't believe this idea had been up since 2013/2014, and hasn't been changed/fixed. There are so many others like FitBit out there. Aren't you worried about the competition? I had to contact customer support because I thought there was an issue with my connectivity between Fitbit and the app.

As a new Fitbit owner, I am very disappointed and will most likely be returning Fitbit Charge 2 ($180) in favor of my old Mi Band 2 ($30) that does almost everything Fitbit does, with battery lasting at least 3 weeks (max 2 months) with similar settings AND is water proof.

THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING.

The battery life display issue is certainly disappointing, but in this case consider the other benefits. Why did you chose FitBit? Are you basic needs being met? My solution to the battery issue is to recharge every three days. That's better that every day with the Apple Watch.
