More Accurate Battery Life or % in Mobile App

I have owned a Fitbit Charge HR for about 2.5 weeks now. Using the battery life indicator icon on the dashboard on my iPhone or IPad, I was shocked to see that I was at one-half reserve or less by the second day after full charge. I have no notifications permitted and only sync when I open the apps ( few times in 24 hours.) When I plugged in the Fitbit to recharge, however, the battery reserve always showed much greater than the dashboard icon reported. "What gives?" I asked. So, today I called your trusty tech support staff who has just confirmed that the battery life icon on the dashboard only has three "levels" it can report: full, medium, and low. Hmmmm. Not so cool.

OK, guys, please revise your onboard firmware and app software to more accurately reflect the true status of the battery reserve when checking into the dashboard. The "new dashboard" graphics have not addressed this issue. Otherwise, a lot of folks are going to be charging their devices unnecessarily rather than tracking all the fun on wrist or ankle, where they belong. Thanks!

@WellnessIsNow, I chose Fitbit for the stable reviews, well known brand name,  and as a splurge for my birthday.

When pros and cons and weighed and reviewed after trying it for two days, I am very disappointed that I chose Fitbit.

We have ten pages of requests for this feature going back to 2014 but Fitbit do not appear to listen.  I think we can probably give up on the idea that they will incorporate this feature.

The company will continue to lose market share if it does not listen to its loyal customers.

I got a miband to replace my Alta and it does show the percentage in the app. It's amazingly useful.

For a brand like fitbit it's amazing they do some things so well and the basic things (like battery status) so badly. They obviously have no intention of doing it otherwise it would be done by now.

The percentage shown in the battery life feature is requested since 2013/2014 and yet it is not been done till now, the only reason that I can think of is that the fitbit is not able to show before of hardware problem or otherwise they must have done so.

What bothers me more than anything else is that no one at Fitbit has the
courage to post an official position on this matter. I'd (reluctantly)
accept an official "No, not going to happen". The silence is deafening.

the aggravating thing is that when I charge the HR, it has a percentage of charge display. So, the SW is their. just no
way to invoke the display with only ONE button

Fitbit needs to put a battery status app on the actual device, and make it easier to see the status on the online dashboard.  Battery status is one of the more important things to know about as you go through your day.  I'd like to be able to know that I have x hours/minutes left on my battery so I can decide when to charge, especially when it would be more convenient for me.  My Charge vibrates when the battery is about to die, which is really no help at all, since that occurs about 30 seconds before the battery actually dies.

This is a great idea! I think it can help a lot of users to see their battery levels on the Dashboard. Please spread the word so it can get more votes!

Mr. Moderator,
I'm a busy individual but sufficiently puzzled by your advice to "spread the word" to write and ask you what, precisely, you suggest I do to proselytize this issue further? Moreover, why should I? It seems that I, having offered a reasonable suggestion for a useful -- and likely very simple upgrade -- and having already garnered hundreds of positive comments in support of same, that the ball lies squarely in your court (or someone equally accountable at Fitbit Enterprises) to act upon the matter and carry it through. Go to it, laddie. This problem should have been addressed months ago. Had you already shown zest for action rather than urging strangers onward and upward, I might yet have been wearing this pathetic, brain-dead little gizmo instead of having buried it in the back of my sock drawer the last time the battery conked out.
Godspeed,
WSC

@MarlenS - thank you for being the first person at fitbit to finally recognize this issue/thread/post and reviewing it. Please spread the word to Fitbit coder/analyst/IT team to get this implemented.

@killerloopz .... you deserve this  *STANDING OVATION (gif)* for your reply that was posted 4 hrs ago! (hopefully the link works)..

I still vote for the battery percentage. Either on the dashboard or tucked into our watches. If our phones can do it, so can this.

No offense. Low, Medium and High could be anything. You can tuck it in the "Today" setting on the Blaze (which I use). Otherwise, you can add it in through the app for other users. I've charged my device when it's low, but when I look at the battery when it's charging, I could've easily made it go at least another day with my use.

Even if its just by a 10% increments its still better then the low med or

I totally agree. I would like to see the battery percentage on the app instead of just a high, medium, or low level!! Please implement this Soon with a firmware update.

So Fitbit moderator -- how many votes do you need to implement this. It looks like the thread started in 2013. There is plenty of support, so what's the status if implementation??

This request dates back nearly 4 years. The team at Fitbit keeps merging it with new ideas, which updates the date on the post to make it look more recent. The first post was in 2013. I posted a similar idea in 2014 and they merged my idea with the idea that was already submitted. But, it looked as if I was the originator of the idea. Now, they just recently merged with another idea and did the same thing. I've been receiving email updates since 2014 and have seen hundreds of comments come through backing this enhancement.

We don't need to share this and get more votes, it already has 2600 votes and is one of the highest rated ideas. We need Fitbit to make an honest decision here and either commit to making a long over due change, or be more open about the product roadmap so we know that it's just not in the plans.

Either way, 3+ years and 2600 votes later, and still no change.

Thank you. When I suggested this to the support team, I was told to post it on this forum under a "similar" feed. I agree, it's time for the Fitbit team to implement the request. It has more than enough support. Thank you for originating the idea!

Why doesn't Fitbit's Alta HR have a battery PERCENTAGE?  I can't imagine the software programming would be difficult, and it would be far, far more helpful than "low," "medium," "full."

Alta HR and all otherFitbit devices should show battery percentage level instead of just the battery bar indication. Would be a lot easier for us users to identify the remaining battery level

Dear Team,

I missed the functionality of a battery percentage view. With a "Flex 2" no aisplay is available and the current indicators within iOS and Android app isn't really helpful. The displayed status is not really good. up to 2 days before the battery is empty (physical), the APP informs me about empty accu ... well that's worse!

This function is missed in general within the apps - Flex2, Charge 2, ...
