More Notifications

Hello Fitbit Team!

after a message of one of you moderator i have decided to make that topic.

I really like you products but the people using an IOS device really need more notifications!

So please give us more! 😃

Notificions i would recommend:

E-Mail

Whats App

Facebook

and more messaging apps

Your own App notifications don't come through to the watch!! So private messages, group messages and general Fitbit notifications don't get forwarded to the Blaze.

The surge already can do these but you can only choose one app ie. What's app, hangouts, etc.. The ability to view all notifications would mean I don't need to look at my phone. Also the integration with Google voice so I can issue commands to the watch.

Hi. I have had a Fitbit Flex for several years. I am upgrading to a new device with more functionality and I like the look and features of the Charge HR EXCEPT that it does not display text messages, only incoming phone calls. I have and iPhone 6s, and will only purchase a HR if text messages are displayable. This functionality was available years ago on earlier Fitbits, so it is obviously possible with the software. I'm afraid Garmin will get my business if this does not happen soon.

Vote for other notifications for other apps such as line, whatsapp, facebook on fitbit alta on ios and android...this should be really helpful

In addition to FB MEssenger notifications I would like to see all FB notifications be an option on the FitBit Blaze.

I would really like my blaze to show email and wattsapp messages to.

Given up waiting for this when devices like the new Garmin Vivoactive seem to handle it.

Sorry Fitbit but you lost my cash on this occasion, appreciate these things take time but lack any real commitment to even acknowleding the issue is pretty poor.  Come on Fitbit, you can do better.

I would also like to see email notifications, but on my Alta (in addition to the Surge and Blaze that have already been requested).

I got a Blaze after having a Gear S2 for quite some time. Only to be utterly dissapointed that it does not recieve Facebook Messenger notifications. Yes its a fitness watch but all i want is the same type of notification as the normal text messages.

No reason why this can't be a feature. Perhaps even more alarmingly there other users on here trying to tell people this is a stupid idea!? Behave, this is a place for positive ideas not to step on other peoples toes.

Well done you. A voice of maturity and common sense. If you don't like the idea simply don't vote. I'm so glad you said that I was beginning to think it was just me.

Hi,

I just bought the Fitbit blaze last week, and I am glad to say that, it is a wonderful tracker. However, my one concern is that it don't support Watsapp, Facebook messages through IOS. However I have seen in some forum that Blaze supports watsapp messages in Android.

Is there any chance for watsapp, FB messages to get integrated in future for IOS ?

Thanks

Good news! Even though it looks like Fitbit will never implement this feature (I've seen several requests dating back at least 2 years and no useful feedback from Fitbit)... BUT!

Garmin has just released the Vivosmart HR+ which does everything the Surge and Charge HR do PLUS it has proper smartphone notifications!! (and it's waterproof which will be good in the pool).

If anyone is reading this wondering what to buy.. go for the garmin! Personally I'm going to be getting one when I replace my surge (maybe sooner if I can find an excuse... ;))

That's what I've done. Sorry Fitbit but you dragged your feet with no real commitment to a response so I've gone for Garmin.

Facebook messenger would be great too

As long as it would be a custom set up. Some of us get a lot of emails that we don't care to read. I would rather they didn't end up in my blaze's notifications.

I understand about the wattsapp. Some countries outside of the US rely heavily on apps like wattsapp for text messages as opposed to a standard sms message since via wifi a wattsapp message can be free while the standard text isn't always free. It would have to bring in the wattsapp messages via notifications similar to text messages though, but not sure if the integration of third party apps like wattsapp is easy or even possible.

Please make the notifications more than just texts and calls, if you could make Facebook and the messenger on that that would be brilliant, possibly snapchat as well and maybe clash of clans 😉

Please add support for generic notifications on the fitbit charge HR.

I would like this too be a feature as well! Heart I dont normaly use msg, I normaly us Facebook msg or Whatsapp. I've seen an app on the playstore thats called BitTicker but it cost £1.20 and i have an apple device so i couldn't get this anyway. Smiley Sad

JJ, the BitTicker worked with FitBit until recently, and worked really well. Due to a FitBit update and most likely intentional decision by FitBit, that app doesn't work anymore.  Hopefully, but I'm having my doubts, FitBit will allow BitTicker to work again or get notifications to work within the FitBit firmware, and not just for the newer Surge, Blaze or Alta.

What's App is more commonly used then SMS text messaging now.  Hence, it will make more sense to enable What's App Notifications on Fitbit Alta for iPhone users.

SMS is dieing here in Germany. In 2015, 16.6 billion messages were sent by SMS (2012: 60 billion), vs. 670 billion via Whatsapp alone.

It's possible to use the app "Tasker" on a rooted phone to send WA messages to the Alta, but that's not a good solution for the average user at all.
