More clock/watch faces for the Charge 3!

So, the Charge 3 is out and there is a huge let down:

There are only 5 clock/watch faces:charge 3 clock.png

Come on Fitbit...at least include all the Charge 2 watch faces too. We all loved the Charge 2 watch face with the time, date and the highlighted feature (steps/heart rate etc.)

Whats missing:

- Faces with the actual DATE and DAY

- Faces with a DIGITAL SECONDS TIMER

Or to say it again, just include the Charge 2 watch faces. Thanks in advance.

Thanks but I can't take credit for it. A while back I saw a bunch of posts of clock faces and I pulled down the one face I like it best: date/digital time with seconds/day, and three metrics: steps/heart/weather (it would be the best if you could select the 3 metrics you were interested to see).

Every now and again I re-post it because I agree it would be perfect so I could finally stop wearing my watch with my C3.

Yes it would be nice how ever the way Fitbit has been handling their company’s complaints this year I don’t think anything will happen this year?

im beginning to wonder if they will fix charge 3 at all or come up with another new Fitbit next year to replace charge 3?Thank goodness I read reviews before buying anything new and didn’t buy charge 3.If u have charge 3 How come u guys bought charge 3 or haven’t returned it?This has been going on months. When u guys r still buying it they r still making profit from it so why should they fix it in their heads?People still buying it.Makes no sense to me?Oh well Goodluck if u bought it.i have still been waiting since February when Fitbit said they were going to change up adventure challenges so please keep that in mind Fitbit doesn’t do anything fast.Hopefully u won’t have to wait until next Xmas to see change with charge 3?🙏🏻

@debgumm asked "How come u guys bought charge 3 or haven’t returned it?"

Why did I buy it? To upgrade from my 2-year-old Alta. Speaking only for myself, I am happy with the device, and have no plans of returning it. Asking for more clock face options is a wish, not a complaint. And if they never get around to releasing more clock faces, I'll say "aww, darn" but I won't lose sleep over it. It won't change my high opinion of Fitbit. I read the reviews and did plenty of research before purchasing the Charge 3 last week, and knew exactly what to expect - of which I have not been disappointed in the least.

I would really like to see FitBit include a few watch face for the Charge 3 that has:

- the day of the week

- the date

- the time (digital time)

- steps

- heartbeat

looking at the watch face there is plenty of room to include the above.

Thank you for listening,

kurt

@nitrosheep thanks for posting I have only seen a few people make a good comment on here about the 3 in the last several months.

I like my 2 still except not being waterproof.I will have to wait and see if they come up with a fix for this one?I will not compromise on face.On my charge 2 I have date time floors steps. Those 4 r the most important to me.Wished they would have made charge 2 waterproof it would be perfect for me then.

With like a thousand comments with different requests fitbit provided what? About 5 more clock faces? It's clear that we need an API so developers can meet their own demands and the demands of others along the way. Why can't we develop our own clock faces and make it available to other people?

@nitrosheep I'm happy to hear you like your Charge 3, but confused about
why you came to a page for folks requesting new faces to share that
opinion. There are many more on-topic pages where your enthusiasm would be
welcomed.

Speaking purely for myself, it's not a minor inconvenience for me. Its
quite serious. I simply can NOT see the **ahem**ed thing. The use of gray
scale kills that ability.

Hopefully, you're not there yet, but a rather common occurrence, for those
of us over 40, is declining near vision (especially where contrast is
lower). For many, myself included, our distance vision remains perfect.
We only carry reading glasses for reading, not excercising.

With Charge 2, I could read the watch WITHOUT reading glasses.

I truly don't understand why Fitbit wants to punish its many loyal
customers, like myself, by releasing a LARGER watch with less visibility.

Let me assure you, its a real slap in the face...very insulting. While
very minor, compared to others, ageism is still a form of discrimination.

This is compounded by the fact that Fitbit clearly could care less about
the nearly 2,000 customers who took the time to complain. This is likely
mostly loyal customers who actually care...a small percentage of the many
more who are also disatisfied.

In my case, this is not a complaint from a geriatric person afraid of, or
unfamiliar with, technology. I'm a life long fan of technology who has a
continuing career, now over 30 years, developing computer software.

@techfan42 I can certainly understand your frustration, especially if vision problems are an issue in reading the clock face.

As to your asking of why I commented on this thread, it's because I also posted here previously to chime in on the request for more features on a clock face. Replies to this topic come to my email inbox, and when I saw debgumm's question earlier today ("How come u guys bought charge 3 or haven’t returned it?"), I came back to answer her question.

But back to your point on the visibility - do you think the Versa would work better for your situation? (Maybe exchange for it if the Charge 3 is truly a no-go in your case?)

@nitrosheep given that you previously came here requesting a similar
change, your list makes a lot more sense now. Thank you for taking the time
to explain.

Regarding the vision problem, it strikes almost everybody past 40 at some
point. It's called presbyopia.

Regarding your suggestion about the Versa, I have considered it. To me,
Versa seems a bit bulky /ugly.

For now, I'm happy with my Charge 2 as a watch and my Samsung Note8 phone
as a smart device.

As a swimmer, and Fitbit enthusiast, I've eagerly awaited a swimproof
Charge 2, for the past couple of years. The Charge 3 was both exciting and
bitterly disappointing. Hardware-wise it's a dream...software-wise (with
its lousy faces) it's a nightmare.

Because of the Charge 3's poor software, there doesn't seem to be a device
for me right now. I'm still hoping Fitbit wakes up and makes an easy fix
to Charge 3.

Though, with the passage of time, and poor communication from Fitbit, this
seems increasingly unlikely. Fitbit simply doesn't seem to care anymore.

I'll wait until the good weather and probably (sadly) be forced to embrace
a bulky smartwatch. Though, it won't be the Versa.

There are much more capable choices available. If Android doesn't improve
their ecosystem, maybe I'll switch to an iPhone and go with Apple Watch 4.

The Amazfit Bip is also intriguing, but not sure I trust the company.

@techfan42 great post again👍.Weird u happen to mention amazfit bip.Heard other people mention that under this post.My family r always Apple users my dad started me on Fitbit a few years ago.My dad likes to wear Fitbit and Apple Watch both I was just at his house and he just bought that amazfit bip.So now he has 3 watches. He said he really likes the amazfit bip because he hadn’t found anything yet better then his charge 2 for sleep he said.until this amazfit bip that he really likes.so I got to see it in person for the first time a little wider then I like but flatter then the charge 2.I don’t like too big and bulky things either charge 2 is perfect size for me not too large/bulky or small.Just wanted something like the charge 2 that’s water proof. He said he paid 79.00 for it that seemed cheap too me?also got my dad into the magnetic bands that dress up charge 2 when u need it he Just got a black one one a couple of weeks ago and tells me thanks for telling him about that He’s 75 and it’s sooo much easier for him to put on.anyone out there that doesn’t like my post talking about other products oh well sorry but so has so many other people I guess that’s what Fitbit gets for Never saying anything anymore except we r moving u into the post because it’s already been suggested?Gosh who owns Fitbit company?Haven’t looked that up?anyone know?I personally still think that this year has sucked for good customer service.I own my own business and if I treated my customers complaints like this I would have been out of business?I wonder what the true count is now of complaints for this because people word their complaints different ways?Im sure in the way thousands?Especially from all the different stores u can buy it at?

Well I have packed up my Charge 3 because I can’t stand the inaccuracy of it.  Also I was out walking and it was on dim I forgot to change couldn’t read it.  I’m sad cos I like the size, the fact it’s water proof BUT it kept giving an error when I wanted to change clock face, tracking incorrectly, I also wasn’t happy with the sleep reporting and of course the lack of decent clock faces.

its truly sad the lack of customer service.  I have told them that I was in an electronics shop buying something behind the cashier was a Charge 3, so I told them of all the issues.  We have a company well respected company that tests everything and reports to members but they also get on tv in our news.  I also posted on their site and it has been accepted, even though some of their staff tested the Charge 3 with good comments.  So pleased that my post was put up.

I have sent sent an email to Fitbit today saying it goes back tomorrow and that I have as we Aussies would say, bad mouthed them!  Did tell them another company that I buy stationary etc from will have stocks and I will be quite happy to give them my feedback.

so take that Fitbit.  The Charge 3 would of been my 4th Fitbit!

@debgumm thank you for the kind words regarding my post.

I wish I were shocked by the poor customer service, but I'm not. That
trend seems widespread across so many companies nowadays.

That said, I am surprised by the total lack of communication from Fitbit.
I'd expect them to note the increasing frustration expressed by their
customers in this topic and maybe offer an occasional hint of caring.
Sadly, the last time one of the moderators acknowledged this thread even
exists is over a month ago.

At a time when they face so much new competition, I would expect Fitbit to
strive to retain longtime customers. Instead, they almost seem to be
actively trying to drive them away.

At this point, I can only hope some other company will recognize the market
for lightweight, compact devices. Unlike a lot of the smartwatch crowd, I
have no need to strap a phone on my wrist. I only need a watch with
fitness tracking and basic notifications. My phone is better for
everything else.

The ironic part is that, if Fitbit would simply open up the API for the
device a little bit, I could program it myself to do what I need. Like
many other developers out there, I'd be happy to share 🙂

It is disappointing to hear all the bad things that are out there.  What's worse is the response isn't acknowledging there is an issue but to go to a post and vote.   Well, I didn't go to a post to vote.  I voted by not purchasing the product.  I have no complaints against the Charge 2 other than waterproofing.  I was excited to hear they were able to figure that out with the new Charge 3 and then added some great features like increasing the battery life.  Sweet!  But the regression in functionality and apparent lack of quality control coupled with poor customer service/community response has convinced me the company is in a state of contraction.  It's too bad because they have a solid platform to build on but appears they are just resting on their laurels.  Oh well.  I will continue to use my Charge 2 and look over here occasionally to see if they have addressed any of these pitfalls.

Major issues for me is:
Reports of inaccuracies.
Poor selection of *****functional****** watch faces.
Poor contrast and visibility.
Failure of units to charge/wake up etc.

Addressing these issues is paramount to whether I buy the product and since I haven't heard the company acknowledge the issues.  I think in the beginning there was something along the lines of, "here post here and 'vote'" so there is that.

Anyhow, I do love the previous gen product.  I'll hold off on upgrading until real solutions are promised/released.

Probably just someone in management who's too busy using the Devs to work on the objectives for his "Bonus" before end of year to care about this 🙂

I wonder what the Devs are actually working on right now.

Well I did take my Fitbit back, I was sad to do it but it was not worth the price.  I liked the fact it was lighter, waterproof but quality nowhere as good as the Charge 2.  Today I finally got an email from Fitbit, apologising for not getting back to me saying let’s help you.  I replied too late!  This Charge 3 would of been my 4th Fitbit.

As some one posted Fitbit will be in trouble if say Apple or some other Company produced something like the Charge devices, instead of the clunky smart watches!  I agree.

I just got my new charge 3 to replace my charge 2 and so far it’s great, I
like the charge 3 cause it’s water proof and I the band too. Thank you

@SunsetRunnerSo what did you get instead?

The Charge 3 I didn't buy because of the clock faces would have been my 3rd. My Charge 2 is great, but the battery life is getting shorter with each charge. It took Fitbit six months to address the clock faces in the Blaze. My C2 might not last that long. I'm also looking for something lighter, waterproof, and with a thinner bump on the back for the heart rate sensor.

The Samsung Gear Fit Pro looks interesting. However, it has GPS. The idea of being on an electronic leash is unappealing. Their Breath feature (which like the C2's Relax) also uses HRV-biofeedback, however it looks like you might have to be connected to the phone to use it, not sure.

Any info on alternatives is appreciated.

@CrystalClearly

i haven’t bought anything else, will stick to my C2 for the time being.  I’m having wrist issues so I don’t want a clunky watch.  I liked the size and lightness of the C3 but just couldn’t cope with inaccuracies, it even had me doing stairs which I hadn’t done!  I’ll just sit it out and keep tabs on this list and see if they resolve the issues etc.
