@LizzyFitbit I have today sent an official complaint to the UK asa (advertising standards authority).
Fit bit are still advertising this and the versa 3 as being able to store music but with no mention of having to have a premium subscription. That is false and misleading advertising as far as I'm concerned. I have sent them a screen shot from your website today.
I was forced into this by the complete lack of response for our issues that FitBit have chosen to ignore.
I was going to buy a Versa 3 as my first smart watch. Fortunately I visited the Fitbit community before doing so, making me realize that it is not possible to store my music in the Versa 3. It is a show stopper for me. I will wait a bit to see if Fitbit will provide this functionality. Meanwhile, I will take an additional look at the competition.
Please allow for personal music storage on Versa 3. This could be a perfect product if you didn't have to pay to listen to free podcasts & your music! This is not right!
Lack of on board music is the main reason I dont think I will be getting a versa 3. I don't see the use of adding GPS so I can run without my phone, yet I will.need my phone to play music unless I subscribe to yet another streaming service. Poor form.
After waiting for over a month to receive my new Sense, I was thoroughly disappointed to find out that it no longer had the one feature that led me to buy my Ionic two years ago. To eliminate one of the most popular features is a poor product management decision. As this request has over 400 votes as of my writing this post, I do hope the development teams are quickly putting a plan in place to add this feature in to both the Sense and the Versa 3.
Like many on the Community and the Forums, I am now seeking ways to either resell my Sense or return it without losing too much money in restocking fees, as I purchased from a 3rd party. The sad thing is that I really liked the product for the 20 minutes I spent setting it up. Responsive, fast, and sleek.
A way to prevent loss of sales for these two products would be for a product manager at Fitbit to come forward and indicate when this feature will be added and how it will be implemented for current purchasers. At the very least, you should offer free Pandora subscriptions to purchasers until the feature is implemented.
Just read article in 10 26 wsj, interview with fitbit. Their strategy is health, not the other frills like your own downloaded music . Customers need to keep expressing our needs!
I would like to be able to save music to storage. After that, I would like to see it support at least the top 5 music subscription services with a top 5 market share. I use Youtube music.
I do hope Fitbit is listening to their customers concerning the ability to download our own music to the Versa 3 and Sense. I just read this, which does say something:
“Fitbit recently posted its second-quarter results where its revenue fell 16.7% to $261.3 million, compared with a year ago. The net loss has widened to $104.1 million during the quarter, greater than the loss of $68.5 million a year ago. “
Fitbit, listen to your customers and improve the customer experience by allowing your customers to download their own music.
Well, reading that article I will be another disappointed customer that will send the Sense back to Amazon. If at least Spotify was an option I would think about keeping it but they just let control other devices. I can't understand how you advertise something and then you remove it from your smartwatches.
If Fitbit want me to continue buying their devices (I have had many) they must enable MP3 playing/storage. In hindsight I would not have upgraded to Sense.
I was just eyeing up the Sense as an upgrade of my Iconic and saw this....
I can't believe the Sense doesn't allow mp3's to be transferred and this is another sale lost from a long time user if the feature isn't implemented on the Sense or a new Iconic.
Well actually it's multiple sales lost as I will persuade my my wife not to buy and refuse to allow my child (who is using a handmedown) to buy.
Listening to music I own is a key part of my workout. I will just buy another brand when my Iconic dies if there is no decent fitbit available, which is a shame... I do like fitbit!
So PLEASE add (put back!) the feature to be able to copy mp3s and listen to them to the Sense/Versa and any future high end fitbits!
Will you return the feature to load music onto the Versa 3 similar to its predecessor of the Versa 2, this feature is highly recommended more than anything you can possible do for these trackers. Having GPS + Music so the user does not need to bring there phone is key.
I run 10km 3 times a week, bringing my phone is a huge burden & I currently use a Charge 4, the day you incorporate the two features GPS + Music I will buy instantly. Not to mention I love the blue / gold look on the Versa 2 / 3 special edition.
Was told to leave a comment, this is my opinion and I will spend the money to upgrade my Charge 4 to the Versa 3 if this is incorporated 100%.
I have been planning to make an upgrade to the Versa 3, then almost decided to get the Versa 2, but until the decision is made "to allow the music" its hard to decide, since the only reason I want to upgrade is to have a phoneless run & a couple of new features + gps tracking.
I look forward to being able to upgrade. The support is unprecedented for these features compared to any other requests, throughout a wide range of online forums, reddit, social media 100% would be a large increase in sales, many are planning on returning their product otherwise.
I won't buy a fitbit without local music storage. Add it or you permanently lost a customer.
Glad I found this. My ionic is getting long in the tooth, bad battery life (after 3 years) . I want fitness tracking, GPS and local music storage. Will not compromise on those features. The ionic was perfect for me but is no longer supported or I would just get another one.
I listen to long mp3 tracks on my runs. No streaming service has them. I. need local mp3 storage.
Based on my own experience with fitbit support this was a waste of time we will be ignored as fitbit seems to have extreme apathy toward Thier customers.
I purchased the Versa 3 today thinking i would be able to store my music on the watch because the advertisement said i could store upto 300 song? What i didnt realise that was 300 song through deezer and i honestly fell mislead by the advertising. I'm very disappointed in this as the previous versions of the Versa did allow personal music storage. Please add this feature back into the Versa 3
I was just about to click the Order button, and decided to check out the reviews first. I have been a fitbit customer for 4 years. I have owned two, which each lasted about 2 years, and planned to order a Versa 3. Very disappointed in the lack of music download capability. I really loved my previous fitbits, but wanted the ability to leave my phone at home, so I planned to upgrade. Not any more. Guess I will bite the bullet and ask for an AppleWatch for Christmas. Didn't want to do it, because I don't want to be a slave to Apple products, but this is a big downgrade from previous models.
Obviously, as customers, we aren't important enough to receive a response about whether the ability to store our own music files will be added in or not. So, I am asking here if anybody knows the answer to this question...
If Fitbit does decide to add this feature back in, will it be a software download that all of us who already own the Versa 3 / Sense can do, or will it require a hardware update? I.e.: a new watch!
I purchased my Fitbit via Amazon, and for some reason I have until 31 January 2021 to return it if I'm not happy. I will have owned it for almost five months at that point. I think that is sufficient time for Fitbit to give a response!
The watch does have the "Ability" to hold music files as there is storage available on the watch. The question becomes does Fitbit enable it's O/S to allow that storage to be used or not. And the answer to that is probably NO since I'm sure they pull in a good amount of revenue from those music providers you have to now pay for. However, there is always a possibility that some third-party developer creates an app that allows for this, but it would probably not be with Fitbit's blessing.
Just bought the versa 3 and linked it to the iphone SE (I know, it's old, but it does supports IOS14) Like many others here, very disappointed not to be able to use my spotify premium in offline mode. I'm sure many of us like running with music, so the less you have to carry, the better, and then you find out that you still need to take the phone. If I could answer the phone on the watch while running, it would compensate a bit, but though you can pick up the phone on the watch, you still need to get your phone out to actually conversate. 2 options that could improve the device considerably. Get it done.
I've just been sorting through some old boxes of LPs.. remember them? Anyway, I came across one from Manfed Mann's Earthband called The Roaring Silence and it struck me that's exactly what we've had from Fitbit on this issue. If music storage isn't going to happen on the Sense/Versa 3, then at least be brave enough to let us know. There are alternatives and much as it pains me to consider purchasing Apple wristwear, it's looking a distinct possibility.
