Just bought the new Fitbit sense and very disappointed I can’t download my own music like I was able to do with my Fitbit Versa. Please put it back into the sense
I just upgraded to the fitbit sense... I now realise buying the fitbit sense was a big mistake, and am planning to return it and buy an apple watch...
Absolutely ridiculous! Not only does the fitbit sense not have the features promised on the box, it doesn't even have the features of the previous lower model watch.
You've lost me Fitbit. I only stuck with you because of my friends on it, but I'm pretty sure Apple watch will overtake you in health features soon and you won't even have a spot anymore in the fitness market with anti-consumer decisions like this.
Seriously... $500 for a watch that doesn't even have the advertised features and is a downgrade?
I hope your company goes broke. You won't be getting any more of my money.
I wonder when someone from Fitbit will take the bull by the horns and let us know what is planned for the Versa 3/Sense no music issue. If it's never going to happen, then at least be up front and say so. That way at least we know where we stand and can then decide to either put up with the fact that it won't store offline music and keep whatever Fitbit we have, or begin the process of looking for a smartwatch that has both GPS and Offline music avaiable. Or for those of us with Spotify, make that work without having to have a phone with you. You might as well as clearly plenty of folk aren't opting to purchase whilst this remains unanswered. The silence on this is deafening Fitbit.
This feature seems like such a no-brainer... We've already paid so much for the device itself, don't deliberately put obstacles in our way just so you can have a background deal with a subscription service no-one (literally no-one) uses... That's just cheeky...
1.) Who at Fitbit came up with the great idea of removing the ability for users to store their own mp3s on the new high-end watches?
2.) How much money is Pandora and Deezer paying Fitbit?
3.) How many of you are not buying (or returned) the Sense and Versa 3 because you can no longer listen to your own music on your watch? me
This is a deal-breaker for me. I was just moments away from clicking the "BUY" button, until I found out the new Fitbit watches no longer allow you play your own music. Fitbit just lost $329.00.
I've had numerous fitbits. one, charge, ionic, versa 2, and now the sense. i agree with everyone that music storage on your fitbit device is necessary.
Wow, just brought my first ever smart watch and assumed I would be able to exercise with just my watch to listen to music....Now I need my phone unless opt out of my family Spotify and pay another £120 a year for Deezer......Brilliant. I was 50/50 with the apple watch, but went for the Sense instead. I will reconsider and exchange this for the apple smart watch.
Shame, as it seemed like the perfect product for me, but obviously an accountant got in the board meeting and showed how much money Deezer would pay to make selling the subscribe rights...Accountants, all money and do not necessarily think of the end-user, only the margins.
I bought the Sense a few days ago, cost a small fortune, but at least now I can run on the mountains and get my GPS recorded while listening to my audiobooks. Except, I will have to bring my phone!! This sucks, but I think I can get a refund. I had fitbtis for 4 years, sorry to have to chang to Garmin. Why did they do this?
Totally flabbergasted this £299 'smart' watch doesn't have the ability to store offline MP3s. This must be a commercial decision and FitBit must be cahoots with Pandora/Deezer and Spotify to get you to pay for their premium service.
Put the ability to store offline music on the Sense and any other watches that have the ability to play music.
In 12 days the possibility of returning to Amazon expires and then bye bye Fitbit.
Incredible underestimating the impact of certain choices (or retaining users stupid sheep) and the stain on the Fitbit name ... and certainly a choice made by highly paid manager
the fact that there are only several hundred votes recorded in this thread is deceptive given that there are many, many more votes and comments in the same vein being made in other parts of the forum such as in the thread "Can the Sense store music like the Ionic?" I hope that Fitbit is truly taking the concerns of its patrons/consumers seriously in terms of ALL of the features that are valued and desired in its high-end fitness wearables and that it will make these requested changes much, much, much sooner than it has in the past with others.
Recently I just learned of this--not being able to store personal music on the Sense & Versa 3--not a good idea, IMHO. I will stick with my Versa 2, & if something happens to that option, I will have to say goodbye to Fitbit.
I've been getting emails to update my versa to a versa 3 or sense, and while it still has waterproof ability and added the call ability, I'm not going to until I see that. I do not do paid subscriptions to music which allows no phone listening, and didn't see much of a change or need to upgrade to the versa 2. The Bluetooth calls is that tipping point, but at double the price of the versa during black Friday 2 years ago, and the storage being available with other apps, why isn't it included?
I just received the Versa 3 this morning as a gift and was also very excited b/c of the coupling of GPS and storing music on my watch. I am incredibly disappointed to learn that this feature no longer exists. I blows my mind. Additionally incredible that not only did fitbit remove this feature but it also doesnt support Apple Itunes of Google!! And its a shame b/c, otherwise, i really love the watch. Even though I am not a huge Apple fan, I will return this for the Apple watch so I can get the features I really want/need. Too bad fitbit. Not sure who creates your technology strategy but this is a HUGE miss
The main reason I bought the Versa 3 vs the Apple Series 3 watch was because I have already owned 2 other Fitbits and wanted to continue with them, especially when I learned the Versa 3 added GPS and I read that you could add music to a Versa. I've had the watch for a couple of weeks and today I tried to add personal music, only to learn you can't load personal music with the Fitbit Versa 3. But you can with prior versions - this makes no sense and is extremely frustrating. Please add this feature back.
FitBit need to tell us the reasons behind the decision - that doesn't mean they will fix it but we need to know why. Personally I don't think they can because I think it's a backhander they are getting from the subscription services they say you can get your music I can't return my FitBit because the place I brought it from says there actually isnt anything wrong with it - which I guess is correct.
However I have removed the Spotify App and the Deezer app from the watch and have also cancelled my FitBit premium subscription as well. It will be the last watch I but from FitBit.
I have a Fitbit Charge 2 and a Fitbit Inspire HR. My plan was to upgrade to a smartwatch. I decided I did not want the Versa 2 because it didn't have the built-in GPS. So I come back to the Fitbit website to see the new models and I find the Fitbit Sense, pricey but I immediately wanted it. However, because of the price-tag, I looked up reviews on YouTube to see if it is worth the money. Spoiler Alert, it's not! Fitbit downgraded the watch by taking away free music onboarding.
As I said, I use a Charge 2 and Inspire HR. Therefore, this would still be a big upgrade for me. Nonetheless, I am not about to pay Apple prices for a downgraded, underperforming fitness tracker with mediocre smartwatch features. I am now looking at a few Garmin and Amazfit watches. Hopefully, someone at Fitbit (or Google) will correct this mishap and roll out a better version before I make the switch to another company.
Really glad I didn't order yet. Was excited to get the versa 3, but not going to given the lack of offline music (or spotify offline) support.
Frustrated that fitbit hid the nuance here. Offline music and a gps enabled watch go hand in hand. Glossing over the nuance, and the fact that the deezer/pandora offline options require an additional subscription, feels wrong.
When I bought the sense the description explained you can store music offline on watch and no need for smartphone. This is totally mis-leading. A deezer subscritpion is needed for that. Bring the music app back please.
i agree. it is completely backwards. what would be awesome if a single person from fitbit actually responded to this thread and at least acknowledged how big of an issue this is. But I am not holding my breath. It feels like this thread is not even being read by fitbit.
Why on earth is the feature of playing your own music missing on the most expensive fitbit watch so far? I do not get it. Was anyone complaining about it? Is it too expensive to implement? Or are there some interests of Spotify, Deezer and Pandora and others to keep you from playing other than their stuff? I am really disappointed to see fitbit got rid of this function in their top tier device... And I am honestly sorry to have sold my versa 2 because I could not see this coming. It had better battery life with Versa 2, option to play music via Spotify etc. or upload your own... What did I get instead? A device double the price for fancier animations and a "no guarantee" ecg option. Well, not pleased at all...
@Mickeyla I think you hit the nail on the head - "Or are there some interests of Spotify, Deezer and Pandora and others to keep you from playing other than their stuff?". I think that's exactly what this was.
I have started another post asking FitBit to explain what was the business decision was, not asking for the feature to be added, but explaining the reason why.
I'm not holding my breath but it should be a simple answer, if they are being honest that is.
