NET Carbs instead of Carbs

There is a difference! If you are following, Atkins, Keto, Paleo or any of the LCHF diets, you do not count standard carbs, you count net carbs (Carbs - Sugar alcohol - Fiber). There is currently no option on your site at all that allows the entry of net carbs or a field for sugar alcohol (Erythritol, Xlitol, etc) to be able to calculate this in your macros.

Diabetics use this, as well as dieters for weight loss or training.

Yes please implement the net carbs feature. I'm sure many people would benefit from this enhancement and it would improve an already great product.

YES! I want to see net carbs instead of carbs including fiber. Fiber basically doesn't have calories so it doesn't make sense how the macro ratio is presented on the dashboard. Very misleading.

I’m getting a little frustrated that I have to omit adding in the carbs from Fiber and Sugar Alcohols like Erythritol in order for my Carb count to track accurately for my dietary needs.

This is very significant for Keto, Paleo, Atkins, or any other LCHF diet implementer.

I would like to see an option available where I could view Net Carbs represented in my daily Macro percentage counter instead of all the carbs I’ve consumed.

It would be fantastic if there was an option to track Net Carbs. I love being able to track calories burned, but several lifestyle plans Keto, Adkins, Paleo, etc, focus significantly on net carbs, and it would be great to have that as an option for monitoring when tracking food.

I know this issue has been raised before, but can there be an option to toggle to net carbs in calorie tracking? I'm tired of having to input my food intake in 2 places (Cronometer and Fitbit) every day  just to make sure I'm hitting my macros.

Agreed they should have it but if you link cronometer to fitbit cronometer will push your food data to fit bit and it works well except that water is not included.

So some of us follow a low carb or keto diet.  Having the app have the feature of allowing you to choose to not track overall carbs but only net carbs would be a great boon.  At the moment I moved on from using the fitbit to a different app in order to track my food as it doesn't give me this option.

Could you separate net carbs (total carbs - fiber) and fiber from net carbs in the food log? This would be VERY helpful to people on a ketogenic diet.

Sorry, it should read "Could you separate net carbs (total carbs - fiber) and fiber from TOTAL carbs in the food log?"

Please consider adding sugar alcohol values in food so we can then have the app summarize NET carbs.  Total carbs is not helpful and there is no way to subtract the sugar alcohol carbs.

Anyone on keto needs this.

Thank you!

It would be ideal to have a net carb macro instead of just carbs. I struggle to keep track of my macros as Net carbs would be more representative of what I am consuming. For example... An avacado has 17 grams of Carbs, it also has 15 grams of fibre meaning it only has 2 gram net carbs. Substantially lower. This would be a great addition and make it easier to maintain weight loss!

  • I wish fitbit actually showed net carbs due to people that need to track them.

It would be helpful to see all daily nutritional info like sugar and fiber rather than just macronutrients. It would also be great if it could automatically set the snack/meal time and allow for changes rather than having to change it every time. There should also always be an option for multi-add rather than just when used with previous food.

I agree I want to know how each food contributed to my day, for the carbs, calories, fibre etc so I can eliminate the bad ones or learn from my mistakes.

- like OMG that cup of peanuts REALLY was a bad idea - it took me over my calories for the day! or

- like OMG I just had a low fat Yoghurt - but THATS what kicked me out of Kitosis by being full of sugar

etc

In the app, under macronutrients have the option to display the net carbs (Carbs minus fiber) instead of total carbs.

There should be a way to calculate or show net carb consumption in addition to total carbs.

Being able to track net carbs instead of total carbs, with that being able to add the sugar alcohol into the nutrition information if it doesn't automatically pull up.
