Naming/Labeling Alarms

Hello,

Wouldn't it be nice if you allow us to name the silent alarms? For example: an alarm to wake up, one to drink water, food, one to remind me of something such as an important meeting, etc...

Your feedback is highly appreciated.

Best regards,

Would like this on the Alta for the Windows 10 mobile app

If you want to set alarms for different things we should be able to label them, walk your dog, go for a walk, drink a galas of water, do 25 push ups and remind me every day every hour, every 2 hours so on and so forth. That way you know why your buzzing.

I'd love to be able to label an alarm to use it as a reminder. Example: Blaze buzzes at 3:00 PM and displays 'Pray for Mom & Dad' or 'Pick up Milk'. Nothing too robust, just a quick reminder.

I was just about to post this suggestion when I stumbled across this and realized it had already been made. I'd love to see this feature!

Hi,
Yet no movement to make such a small request happen?

This suggestion has been around for over 2 1/2 yrs. now with many entry's
and responses.
Seems either they don't care, or only want to sell new product. **ahem**ed to
what the consumer wants!

Not even a reply as to whether it's technically feasible? I could understand if they can't add such a feature, or choose not to--but no reply. Maybe I'm naive but you'd think they'd want the customer service rankings.

Sounds very cool to have the option to name the silent alarms, so when they activate, you will see like a reminder of what it is for. I'm pretty sure this can be take in consideration for our developers team.

It would be great to be able to say what the various alarms are!

Instead of flashing what time it is when an alarm goes off, why not allows us to customize what flashes, so we can remind ourselves what the alarm is for. Instead of 7:30, I'd rather see "take medication" or "go to class" or whatever the alarm is telling us to do. Seeing the time is not a helpful reminder if you don't remember why you set it.

Thanks but we still haven't been acknowledged its such a simple request but
Fitbit isn't interested in keeping their clients happy!

I use alarms on my Fitbit Blaze to remind me to go to bed. "Look alive" may be a great message to show when I wake up at 5am, but it's the complete oppossite of what I'm using the alarm for.

+1 for allowing alarm labels to be created.

Seems like a simple request and there is quite a large demand for this feature, please include it in an update in the near future!

I would love to see this feature implemented. I currently use silent alarms as medication reminders. I'm hesitant to use them for other cases (e.g. reminders to move, drink water, be mindful, etc.) without some sort of label because I fear they'll lose their effectiveness.

Yes, please make this a priority.  Anything would be better than nothing:

- Show a small amount of text on the charge HR face

- show the alarm comment in the dashboard when the alarm happens

- Effectively give yourself a message with the alarm comment

Last resort would be to make us open up the alarm page to see the alarm comment

When the silent alarms start vibrating there should be a custom message that you set from the fitbit app display on the tracker. It could be usefull for reminders in the day or what you have to remember to do in the day.

This was orginally posted in January of last year and has received, from what I read, nothing but positive feed back. Yet, it's not applied? You think that a company such as fitbit would have applied this to it's newer products like the Blaze or Surge. While I like my fitbit Blaze there is still A LOT of room for improvement. Please do this soon as I know I would fully utillize this feature!

I'd love this to be implemented on the Alta. Given that the Alta already tells me to move, it seems like just a tweak to the alarm page on the fitbit app would be enough, right?

I can't believe this doesn't have more votes.  I can't believe that there is no way to change the meaningless "Look Alive" message that displays.  I'd love to use silent alarms to keep me motivated, eating, greet me when I wake up, throw me the occasional insult etc.  But all I can do is see "Look Alive" and try to remember why I had the alarm set.

Alas. This thread is about 1.5 years old with no formal response. In the meantime, Fitbit has come out with new devices which have this feature.

Owners of previously released products such as the Charge or Charge HR seem to be out of luck. This is very disappointing.

Based on the lack of response by Fitbit to this extremely popular thread, I can only conclude the following (in no particular order):

- this is the wrong thread in which to make this request (and thus Fitbit is unaware)
- Fitbit feels it has answered this request by creating products with this feature
- it isn't possible to retroactively create this feature

I'm disappointed that, for owners of the Charge and Charge HR, on one from Fitbit has responded to give us a straight answer.

Sigh.

@nimue,

Try setting calendar appointments in place of labeled notifications. Friends of mine with the Alta do this with some success.

I'm not sure I knew that Alta had calendar appointments. How do I do that?

Please can you add this function?

I love silent alarms - as an ME/CFS sufferer, they help with my pacing & to manage my routine.

It would be great if the name/label could then scroll across the screen like Bluetooth-Caller-ID.

Fingers crossed!

Thanks
