New updated clip on tracker

I have had a One for 3 years now and love it but am a bit disappointed that some features are not available on it (e.g.. active mins per hour etc). Please can you make a new clip on fitbit with more features. I really don't want a wrist one at all.

Hi, I am interested in the Fitbit Zip but my only reservations are the fact that the bluetooth feature is automatically on and cannot be turned off, and that the pedometer only tracks steps, distance, and calories but does not track flights climbed. If Fitbit came out with a product similar to the Zip (clip-on device) or modified the Zip, to have a Bluetooth feature that could be turned on and off (so the bluetooth radiation would not be constantly on throughout the day while wearing the device, and could be turned on and off at will, like on a smartphone) and also a feature to track the amount of flights climbed (about 10 ft in elevation, and only going up and not down), I would definitely buy the product. At the moment, I am hesitant to purchase without these two features. Thank you!

Thank you! That is great!!!

The Bluetooth is only listening for a request to sync. At one time with the Zip the bluetooth was only on when the screen was. I'm not sure how it now works but could setup the zip again to test it out.

Please, please listen to the desperate voices of the Fitbit One community and either re-release it or release a more updated one.  I just was selling an unfit friend on the idea of buying one yesterday and then found out they'd been discontinued.  I was really shocked as it's an incredible device that's like an extension of my body - I would be lost without it.

Regarding the lack of visibility when it's in a pocket rather than being on your wrist, I get mine out all the time to show people and show them the amazing app on my phone.  They are always impressed! I never show off my watch (although it's quite nice).

If you could release something small and perfectly formed that we could use like the one, but maybe with a different name (and waterproof), it would be wonderful.  People are always misplacing theirs, so you would have more repeat buyers than for the wrist-based products, which rarely if ever, get lost.  Many people also buy a back-up 'just in case' and others still, buy them as presents for friends/family.  There is definitely a market for clip-on/pocketable fitness trackers connected to a great app and community.  It's just a case of targeting and tapping into it.

As many people have pointed out, wrist-based trackers only, cut out large sectors of society who are not allowed to wear them at work due to health and safety issues, people with allergies, amputees... as well as people who just don't like the idea of something on their wrists and prefer the reliability of a torso/pocket-based device.

Thank you for reading this.

I would like a clip on tracker with a rechargeable battery, display to shows step count, and ability to track stairs.  The form factor should be slim and unobtrusive like the Fitbit One used to be.  None of your existing options (e.g. Zip, Flex 2) meet my needs (even with 3rd party options).

Welcome, sheilajean. No arguments here!

My Fitbit One has officially died a watery death in the washing machine. I'm so disappointed to see that the company does not make a discreet wearable tracker for those of us who don't want to wear something on our wrists. The Zip is much larger and not as nice as the One. I am a loyal Fitbit customer, and have been using your devices since they came out, but will not be buying another Fitbit as there isn't one available that I feel comfortable wearing.

I'm planning to replace my One with an Alta and then buy this clip from
Amazon to wear it clipped to my bra instead of on my wrist. Might be a good
option for others.

Only the fitbit Alta doesn't track flights of stairs like the One did

I also like the stair climbing feature in Fitbit, but I don't think it's
all that accurate. Last week, I had a day where my One counted 34 flight of
stairs for me. I'm quite certain I was nowhere near that total -- my best
explanation is that it was a very windy day and I walked into the wind
quite a bit. Not sure how many stairs count as a flight (is 6 enough?);
I've seen times where I get credited for 1 flight after climbing 23 stairs
(in 2 flights).

My main interest is something that counts steps, is reasonably accurate,
lasts for a long time and most importantly lives in my pocket rather than
on my wrist.

The stair tracker is pretty accurate. My friends and I use it on hikes and it’s been within 100 feet elevation gain! It’ll really suck when my One dies and I’m left without a tracker.

Interesting. I wonder how it will work. Thanks.

The issue I have with the Alta is that it does not count stairs. FitBit
has acknowledged on social media how popular the One is. So, it just makes
me wonder even more why not keep a huge user base happy. Guess it is back
to posting on social media again. I

Folks, what's wrong with the Zip? I have it and wear it on my waist and it is NOT big. I can't imagine wanting anything smaller or I could not see it and would certainly lose it. I realize it only counts steps. I'm not interested in stairs, because all stairs have different numbers of steps in each level of stairs. I walk up one set of stairs with six steps, then another with ten steps, and another with even less. Counting stairs is not important to me, but total steps is important. I don't want to wear anything on my wrist either because it is not accurate, because I play piano and I knit. Wearing my Zip in my pocket or on my waist is great. I do not need anything to track my sleep because my C-Pap machine does that for me. It is much more accurate than any wearable device which tracks movements.

Honestly, I am with you guys who don't understand why Fitbit has pulled the One. Please Tweet about it and RT any tweets about it! Fitbit refuses to answer any questions about why it was pulled and get this -- I spoke to their customer service in Philippines (rude and unhelpful) and they actually have a bunch of Ones that they will provide to people who have them already under warranty. I was a bit supporter of Fitbit in the past and only had good experiences with them...this is not the case anymore. They have been rude and unhelpful and shady to say the least.

The problem with the Zip is if you are a lady and you're not wearing a belt or trousers or have pockets...I wear a lot of dresses to work and wear the One clipped to my bra. The Zip is too cumbersome for that. I also want stairs counted.

I'm seriously considering the Garmin VivoFit3 and buying a clip-on case for under  $10 on Amazon. That is what a friend of mine does and she said, though it is designed for wrist motion, it has been extremely accurate in counting her steps when wearing it clipped to her bra.  PLUS , it is cheaper than Fitbit.  I still want my One, but when my last One dies, I'm going in a different direction.  I'm extremely disappointed. 😞

You could also by a fitbit and a clip on case.

No... because the Fitbits (within my "under $130" budget) are to be worn on the wrist, and if you're pushing a stroller, like I do every single day for my workout, it will not register your steps because you're not swinging your arms.

I need something affordable that has the same technology as the One. And I am done with a company that can't hear its customers' concerns. I'll move on. I am not wasting my time with this company any more.

Your making no sense, the VivoFit3 is also a wrist based option, it also has the same drawbacks as Fitbits

The Zip was my first Fitbit. My main issue with it was that I was having to replace the batteries quite often, much sooner than should have been necessary. It got to expensive. The One is rechargeable.

Would like to see a clip on tracker that tracks floors climbed and sleep. Maybe name it One 2

I have had a fitbit ONE for over 5 years.  Love it's simplicity and small size that fits on my body just about anywhere.   About a year ago I thought I had lost it and purchased another one, only to find my first one in my closet.  I never activated the newer one, but since I lost the original one yesterday, I had to activate the replacement.  Going through support to set up the newer one, I found out that the ONE is being discontinued.  So sad to hear this that I had to comment and pass along my comments to fitbit.  If the fitbit ONE is no longer going to be sold, please make sure that a suitable replacement is in the works.  Looking at other comments on the site, it appears that the other non wrist trackers seem to have issues.  I think what everyone so likes about the fitbit ONE is its small size, easy of use and quick charge, NON WRIST wearable option.  If fitbit wants user feedback on a redesign, they can contact me or any one of the others who have listed their concerns.  I just need a tracker to log steps, exercise, stairs, calories and some other simple stuff.  I don't own or want any apple or android watch, I like a traditional time piece and dislike bracelets period.

I am really disappointed that the One has been discontinued. I would like something that retains the following characteristics from the One:

- Clip-on Tracker

- Altimeter

- USB Charger

- Ideally, something with the same battery life (could go over a week without recharging)

None of the currently available trackers seem to have all these features (even when counting clips provided by third party companies).

Wish you would come up with a waterproof tracker that is clip on...maybe a versa with a clip option? I’m a true One lover and am heartbroken you decided not to make it anymore. I hope you come up with another clip on option as I’m unable to wear anything on my wrist. 💔💔
