New updated clip on tracker

I have had a One for 3 years now and love it but am a bit disappointed that some features are not available on it (e.g.. active mins per hour etc). Please can you make a new clip on fitbit with more features. I really don't want a wrist one at all.

@Lovestofly

I'm right there with you.  Step counting, stair counting, and sleep tracking are deal breakers for me.  Any device I get in the future has to have those three.  The Zip is worthless and a battery hog.

I currently have the One. It works great as a pedometer, but lacks the newer features like heart rate and reminders to be active. I’d like a clip device that has the enhanced features. I don’t want to have to conspicuously wear my device around my wrist

Just wanted to add a vote for bringing back a clip-on tracker!  I loved the One.  I'm on my third one.  The first one accidentally went swimming, and the second one fell off when I was running.  I backtracked, but couldn't find it.  So I guess my only suggestion would be waterproof and neon!

I also would like to vote for bringing back One or a new clip on tracker. I have been one of the first customers of FitBit. Over the years not only I purchased several devices for myself I also gifted to my family and friends. I don't wear wristbands, not even watches. No matter how sophisticated the new features are if I can't clip the device on I can't use it. So, fitbit, you have a ton of wrist devices, you are smart people, why is it so hard to support one more a lot of your customers are asking for?

I agree, I was one of their first customers and have bought at least 16 Fitbits over the years for myself and others.  So sad that they could not care less about us or our loyalty.

Happy.

When I was picking my first tracker, I choose Fitbit specifically for the One, it had so many features in a clip on form. The clip on form is very important to me.  All the other companies clip ons were so basic, and required the dreaded watch battery replaced ever so often. The wrist band ones are so big, and if your regular activities don't allow wrist jewelry not practical.  I was so pleased that fitbit had a true option for those of us who cant wear wrist items all the time but want more than a pedometer.   Literally everyone I know that has/had a one loves/loved it.

Please consider bringing a new clip on back to your product line that does more than steps, the one was perfection as far as I'm concerned.  Maybe you could make a wrist one that is convertible to a clip on but shows data without going to the phone.

Agree with the posts about Fitbit having  nothing comparable to the Fitbit One. It is stunning to me they chose to keep the Zip. Went through 2 of those pieces of junk (battery lasting less than a week, not rechargeable, not tracking stairs, etc) before getting my One. Seems obvious that there are many like me who  want neither something that has to go on the wrist nor junk like the Zip. I’m not going to purchase something I have to modify. Will hope Fitbit listens and develops something new that is clip on, recharable, has updated features, can track stairs and is waterproof. Will keep looking for an acceptable alternative to my One, lost to accidental dip in the pool (R.I.P.)

I would like to suggest a device with all of the following nonnegotiable features plus additional ones that would be compatible : 1. clip on or clip on option, 2. rechargeable, 3. water resistant or waterproof, 4. able to track stairs/elevation

Another long time Fitbit user wanting a decent clip on option Zip is NOT an acceptable option. Would appreciate Fitbit rep explaining rational for keeping the worthless Zip over the highly desirable One.

So, it looks like my One literally just gave up the ghost in my hands a few minutes ago. As such, I decided to go searching for it's untimely replacement. Right now, there's someone selling certified refurbished One trackers on Amazon for approximately $150. It's more than the original price of $99 for the tracker, but much less than the over $200 that I've seen for "new" versions. Alternatively, I see that Amazon has the Alta HR for $109, the regular Alta for $79, and a clip almost identical to the One's that fits both for about $7. The Alta HR won't give you steps, which I really really like, but I guess if you can't swing the $150 price point for the refurbished One, it's an option. Personally, I'm going to give the refurbished a try, and maybe see if they can refurbish the clip that just died.

Hedgieaggie, don't waste your money. It's a software brick. As soon as the one gets the new software it won't work either.

Sounds like Fitbit is trying to force us to use their wrist based trackers.  Sorry Fitbit, not buying into it.  There are a few other companies starting to make decent clip on trackers.  They are not up to the standards of the One yet but they are on their way.

Actually, @shellmybelle, mine didn't die because of a software brick. Mine had been slowly don't for a while, and it's done the same thing my last One and the Ultra before it did of the button stopped responding to touch. I've noticed that that's the death knell for mine, as they soon stop being able to be charged afterwards. My suspicion is that after years of wearing a not water resistant device against my skin, the moisture eventually kills the tiny circuit board inside. This being said, if the refurbished one doesn't work, I'll just send it back for a refund

Hedgieaggie, My One died, actually a few did, and I got a refurbished more than  a year ago from a local Ebayer.  It's been perfect for me.  No problems with updates or anything.  I made a leather snapped pocket for mine, and wear that on the belt loop of my breeches or jeans.  I have it in an after mkt clip but after loosing so many in the barn from the rubber stretching out, I made a little 2 snap leather pocket for it.

The wrist based trackers are not even remotely close to being accurate.  A compiled list of all the comments on when a wrist based tracker doesn't count your steps was sent to the CEO, the VP of Operations and the COO.  Another example is if you live in a cold climate.  Your hands are always in your pocket while walking.  Not sure how they think that a wrist based tracker is a good option there.

Who are the other firms making clip on trackers? My experience with the Charge2 so far leaves me very disappointed, even when I wear it on my belt. Not nearly as accurate or as simple to use as my Ultra
