I have had a One for 3 years now and love it but am a bit disappointed that some features are not available on it (e.g.. active mins per hour etc). Please can you make a new clip on fitbit with more features. I really don't want a wrist one at all.
It would be nice if you made the INSPIRE HR available to the public. Even at your asking price of $100 our wellness and health plans deserve it just not a company.
Just bring back the One! That is what we all want and I am getting tired of Fitbit not caring about their customers that cannot or will not wear a wrist tracker.
If you go on Amazon and look up "Zippo pouches" they fit the Versa perfectly without the wristband on. You can get ones for belt loops or with a very secure metal clip (my choice). They are nice leather pouches, made for Zippo lighters. I turn the pouch backwards into my pocket just like I used to do with my Fitbit One. Still able now to use my Versa even when I cannot wear it on my wrist.
Yes, it works very well. Fitbit, when inquired on clips for the Versa, said to just carry it in my pocket and it was just as accurate. In this case it is simply clipped to my pocket and has done very well.

There is a 3rd party clip made specifically for the Alta (no floors option), or the Charge2/Charge3 fits into the clip made for the Zip or GarminVivofit3. All clips available inexpensively on Amazon. And I've done a bit of experimenting (still having a working One, wearing a clipped and wrist option too) and I think any Fitbit is fine worn clipped. So many people here clamoring for the Inspire ... it's just another wrist option that can be clipped. Just like the Alta and Charges which are available to everyone now. Unless Fitbit has something different in the software (like with wrist versions, it asks if you are going to wear it on your dominant or non-dominant hand, and I figure it knocks down the sensitivity on small movements if worn on the dominant hand) asking if the Inspire is worn clipped or on the wrist, I can't imagine it's any different than just clipping an Alta or Charge, or Versa, Versa is just bigger and more expensive ... but I still bet wrist wearers would appreciate a clip option too. My sons wear theirs ( a flex2 and a Blaze) on the wrist most of the time, but can't during basketball games. One son converts his to a clip (there is a 3rd party clip for the Flex2 too) and the other straps his around his ankle.
That "clip" is simply a magnetic holder, and it can come off quite easily, and be lost. We don't need something that we will lose. We need a CLIP on that will STAY on. I have a Flex 2 that I would consider to be a replacement for my one, IF THERE WAS A PROPER CLIP for it.
I've had a Fitbit One for years and very happy with it. I'm aware it will die sometime in the future but note they are discontinued. I don't want to wear a Fitbit on my wrist and prefer it hidden under my clothes. The only current Fitbit that can be worn like this is the Zip but it doesn't have all the features of the One (sleep, floors etc). Would you consider developing another non-wrist Fitbit with more features?
I work in food where I am not allowed to wear a watch, I would have to wash it everytime I washed my hands (which is a lot), not to mention the trackers are not heat rated high enough. The zip is great and all but it's very basic, the one has served me well but it is no longer being sold, maybe an upgraded version would help others like me who can't wear watches or simply don't like them.
Hi @rgreen126! Great suggestion, thanks for sharing those details. I've moved it into a similar request. Feel free to keep adding your comments in this thread!
The only non-wrist tracker that is currently available is the Zip, which is even older than the One and doesn't have sleep tracking on it (which is important to tracking overall health).
My One recently died and am searching for a replacement device. None of the current ones (pun not intended) fit the bill.
I agree 100%, the FItBit One was perfect, low profile and reliable. I hate that all the new models are bracelets -- I have very pretty jewelry of my own and don't like wearing electronics as jewelry
Fitbit recently sent an email to everyone listing the Do’s and Don’ts to maintain health. I think they need to see their own list of Do’s and Don’ts to staying relevant.
1. Don’t Ignore Your Customers
Sure, being aware of your customers is important. What’s more important is listening to the customers who got you to where you are today. And they need and want a suitable clip on based tracker.
2. Don’t Make Flagship Products Irrelevant
Fitbit started out with clip on trackers. Of course, technology changes and you need to keep up with the times but don’t forget where you started. Consider bringing back technology that you may not think is important but has a loyal following. Those day one customers can help make or break a company. Don’t forget to listen to what people are saying.
3. Do take the time to read, listen and take into account the community boards
This doesn’t mean to have people monitor it for irrelevant content or content you may not see as fit. Higher ups need to see what it is people are saying, what they are concerned about and why this community board exists in the first place. If you don’t want to hear the comments, good or bad, they you should not be in the business of dealing with consumers. Recent research shows, dissatisfied customers will tell 10 friends. Listening to your customers, and interacting with them, goes a long way.
4. Don’t Be Close Minded
It makes sense that you would tune out the frustrations of many. Especially when you feel as if the group is not all that large. Know that there are many more clip on tracker users that do not post on the community boards due to time, knowledge or the feeling that you just don’t care. If you are depriving yourself of the voice of the customer, you are depriving yourself of a huge market that is always a lot larger than you think.
5. Do Acknowledge the Needs for a Clip-On Tracker
Feeling deprived has sabotaged many a loyal customer. There are endless stories and suggestions as to why people cannot or will not wear a wrist based tracker. And, mentioning once again, the Zip does not cut it. And there’s nothing worse than having to say goodbye to a loyal friend (the One) and search out another company that may provide exactly what that customer base needs.
Learn more about how Fitbit One customers feel about not having an adequate clip-on tracker by reading your own community boards.
This article is not intended to irritate management but to educate them on the needs of others. Check with all customers and use this information to develop product lines that will substantially increase sales. Always check with your customers before discontinuing a product and see if it will really be missed and if it makes sense.
Gee @AuntieS You wrote an absolutely stellar post in here less than an hour ago, which landed in my email notifications (Dos and Don'ts of Staying a Relevant Company). I was going to come out here and tell you what a great post it was.
Only every time I tried to get to this thread from that email link, it told me the entire thread no longer existed. I found it the long way, but see that your wonderful post is not here.
Sunrider & AuntieS I agree with your posts. Auntie S. it was exceptional. Many great points. I wonder why it is disappeared? I have the post notification saved in my email.
Not sure why it keeps disappearing. I have posted it twice and it does not violate the policies of the forum. Maybe if I take out the formatting it will stay. Third time is a charm.
