New updated clip on tracker

I have had a One for 3 years now and love it but am a bit disappointed that some features are not available on it (e.g.. active mins per hour etc). Please can you make a new clip on fitbit with more features. I really don't want a wrist one at all.

Anyone else feel like we've just been thrown a bone?

@momice - That is exactly what they are doing.  The Inspire does not provide us what we want which is a clip on tracker that counts stairs.  This is not difficult as the One was just what everyone wants.  Now they are trying to appease us with a product that still does not have the features and we have to buy a separate clip.Come on Fitbit, get it together!

Exactly. They took their best tracker and have continued to put out lesser
trackers since then. If the One had floors climbed, why can't the Inspire

It’s odd Apple gets knocked for putting out their best product that’s expensive. Then the following year they release a better product at the same price, and last years model is cheaper with the same great features it had.

Fitbit seems to be trying to capture the people looking to spend less by offering less expensive devices by stripping them of features. I’m not sure that sounds like a great plan either.

@LizFitbit I don't agree with this thread status being changed to "Released". Unlike what you said, the Inspire may be "new" but it is not "updated". We lost a very important feature from the One, floor counting, and this is a downgrade.

Do you suggest that we create a new thread titled "New updated clip tracker with floor counting" so that Fitbit will better understand their customers?

Sjhowe, I agree. Seems they're spinning this to make it seem that we're satisfied with the Inspire but that's not the case. We all want the One as it was; an update that added the waterproof feature would be welcome, of course, but the One with stair counting and a clip included in the price is what people want.

I agree with the new thread idea. Make it a new suggested feature. While the Inspire may satisfy some people, it isn't really what we were asking for.

Hi everyone,

I created a new thread, New clip-on tracker with altimeter (stairs counting), in the hopes that Fitbit will understand our requests. I also hope that they don't try to merge my thread with this one...

@sjhowe I just clicked on the link and voted for it.  Let's see what happens with it.

I actually accidentally washed my One once and it survived and worked just
fine afterward.

I just clicked on the link too—thanks for starting a new thread and sharing it! I’m honestly surprised it hasn’t been merged into this thread yet. But maybe they can’t/won’t, since this feature request is already considered “released.” That’s ridiculous. And personally (though I don’t think they meant it that way), I’m kind of insulted they still made it a wrist tracker with an “option to purchase” a clip. It’s like the people who supposedly monitor feedback here completely missed the most basic things we were asking for.

Also: I find it funny moderators tell us time and again that wrist trackers won’t be as accurate if worn clipped (I wear a Charge 2HR clipped, out of exasperation) and it works perfectly, better even then when I tried it on my wrist. So if that’s the case, how is it that the Inspire can’t go from wrist to clip?

kemOx is right.

I, too, ended up with a Charge 2 so I could continue to track floors. It is way too big for my wrist and did not accurately count step or floors. Following the recommendation of others on this community, I bought clips designed for a competitor’s tracker. Worn as a clip-on, the Charge 2 is just as accurate as the dear, departed One.

So the steps and floors were more accurate worn as a clip than on the wrist, which is how the Charge 2 is marketed?

The Charge2 is marketed as a wrist device, but I've been wearing one clipped as well. I bought the clip for the Garmin Vivofit3. It's a tight fit. Then I realized I had an old Zip holder around, and it fits a little easier into that. The Charge2 is a little bit bigger than the One, but fits between the girls just fine. I feel it's accurate when worn clipped.

Hmm, I may have to get the Charge2 in case I lose my One or it eventually dies.

I just put the One in my pocket and it seems to track fine from there.

Well....... creating a new thread will just begin the game over. Fitbit has made it clear in so many ways they are uninterested (for whatever reason/s) in creating a like product to replace the Ultra or One. With marking this released, my interpretation is, move on people. This is very hard for me to swallow after 7 years (I think) of loving the company, products, challenges, badges, etc.... The Ultra and One have been game changers in my life. When my device dies, I will move onto something else or a new vendor. I think we are beating a dead horse into the ground.

I bought a 10-pack of clips for the Garmin Vivofit 3 on Amazon. The pack I bought is no longer listed but there are other Vivofit 3 clips available at reasonable prices.

To insert Charge 2, put the top in first and then carefully stretch the other end of the clip over the tracker (a bit tight). All data is visible and the button works even tho covered.

Oh and one more thing. I WILL NEVER WEAR A WRIST DEVICE. I may have to stuff a wrist device in my sock or attach it to my shoe, or something, but I am uninterested in a wrist or vital tracking or cel phone connected junk, etc...... Some people like to KISS, keep it simple stupid. How annoying your phone is beeping and dinging when stuff goes down. Just a simple device is all I want.

I'm really happy to hear about the Inspire as well as the option of clipping the Charge 2.  My One is still working after more than 5 years, plus I got a back-up, but this news is a relief.  I'm not going to wear something on my wrist all day, but I love a clip device.

Unfortunately I have to agree with you. I tend to think that fitbit has
moved beyond helping people and moved into the helping insurance companies
have a reason not to provide coverage. Again this is only my opinion, but I
foresee insurance companies saying if you don't wear a fitbit the cost of
coverage will be this. They could give a care about you as a person or your
circumstances, it is a for profit company. I don't think it is just fitbit
either.
