Could you please make a Norwegian food database based on for example this: http://www.matvaretabellen.no/ ? If it' s difficult to get all countries' food databases in to the app, you could just make a separat attachment for each country to download to their Fitbit- app?
Hi everyone! I still cannot believe that this was requested back in January 2015. We're in May 2017 and still nothing has been done about this, particularly since other apps already have a food database for Norway...disappointing, Fitbit.
I've also stopped using mine. Importing the database isn't even that much work. If it hasn't been in two years it's because they don't consider it a priority.
Fitbit: And if you are low on developer capacity, feel free to hire me for the task.
I second a Norwegian food database. Two years since first request and still no explanation is disappointing. Why should Norwegian user choose fitbit, when the Norwegian customers is such a low priority? Atleast you could make an add on for the app for Norwegian user, or you could just make a separat attachment for each country to download to their Fitbit- app? Or as a MINIMUM add an empty database! If you had done that 2 years ago when the Norwegian db was first requested , it would have been quite rich and solid by now!
So what's the status? At this point it would be far better to allow user made food catalogues, rather than postponing it further. It is a huge letdown to be forced to use foreign catalogues when I know how easily it can be done. Let us scan the barcodes and manually punch in the nutritional facts and brand/name etc.
This fitbit Charge 2 is somehow incomplete as for year 2017, and it's kind of shocking that it's not in it's place. You should not base the demand just by the thumb up number on this community. The demand it's much much larger than the number of thumb up. If fitbit do not build a Norwegian database for Norwegian food, then let people making their own community food database. That cannot be so hard to make it user friendly with the food? By the review of the unit, this is some of the better both as unit and an app. But it's kind of a turn off, when Norwegian food database is missing for the fitbit unit.
It is really disappointing that there is no Norwegian database! I've submitted a bunch of foods via the scan+foto, but none of them seems to be added, a really waste of time.
I used to use the LoseIt app together with my beloved Pebble (+PlexFit). But since I wanted to add my pulse into the mix, I went for Fitbit.
I can still use LoseIt atm. to register my food consumption, but they keep saying that they will remove the fitbit integration for non paying customers.
So I'm trying to use fitbit to do it all, but it makes me sad that it's not that efficient.
Scanning a barcode VS writing much of it in manually is a huge difference in time consumption. And there is also the sad thing that I seem to get logged out a couple of times a day, which messes up my settings, and it takes time to download my personal food database again. It's super painful when you thought this was going to be one of the fast food registrations, since you already have the data punched in...
I can not atm. recommend fitbit to any one in Norway before you add a Norwegian food db.
Hi everyone, thanks for sharing this suggestion. In terms of an update, there aren't currently any plans to release this feature. Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us and we will let you know if anything changes.
I really hope you change your minds about not adding a Norwegian food database. As many people before me have shown, there is an already existing food database freely available on the internet. Please change your minds so that we can have a more full experience of what our fitbits can do.
We are now in May 2018 and still no Norwegian food database. Like many others have commented, this is much needed. Twice Fitbit has assured that this would relay through the right channels for review. I recently bought a fitbit aria 2 and fitbit Charge 2. Out of principal and expectation, fitbit’s reliability and service to they’re customers, I am considering returning the purchased items. Fitbit, you should at least reply a descent answer to your users and let us know if we can expect anything soon regarding the food database.
Unfortunately Fitbit have replied and said they have no plans to introduce a Norwegian database. It is a disgrace that this product is available on the market in Norway given its functionality is not available to its users. It should be made clear before purchase.
