Option to disable 'Water lock'

Many folks are reporting that water lock comes on when not desired. I experience this multiple times a day with my brand new Inspire 2. I do not even have Swim set as an exercise and I don't need or want the water lock function. If the button issue cannot be easily fixed, a simple solution is an option in Settings to disable the function.

PLEASE give us an option to disable Waterlock.  It is the worst feature.  It prompts me 20 times a day, and I do not want to use it.  Then, I wind up accidentally turning on Waterlock and my notifications go into DND.  It's extremely frustrating.  I do not want to use this feature, so please give us the option to get rid of it if we do not want it.  I have tried everything from loosening my wrist strap to finally taking it off when working out because it's so annoying.

Absolutely need a way to disable the water lock.  I don't swim and will never use my Inspire 2 in the shower.  I replaced my Alta HR with this because it was only staying charged two days before needing to be charged again.  I've only had this 24 hours and I'm ready to go back to my Alta and just charge it every night.  The Inspire is constantly asking me to turn on water lock.  And, it's a pain to get out of needing two hands (one with on my wrist and other hand to push both side buttons to get out of it.  Was very excited with my Inspire until realized this.  I see these requests to disable have been going on for months.  Just fix it!  Obviously you are frustrating your customers.

Just adding my vote to creating an ability to disable waterlok notification.  Several times a day my wrist buzzes with this, and the remedy is unclear.  Concerned that if I tap screen I will lock it.

Please allow us to disable this, or at least set it so that it has a different trigger.

As someone else pointed out: the "workaround" of wearing higher and looser effectively disables the heartrate monitor so that's hardly a legitimate fix.

Also I think this is what's draining my battery. It's supposed to last 7-10 days, right? I put my inspire on in the morning 4 days ago with a fully charged battery and it's already down to 32%.

Waterlock is driving me utterly round the bend. It’s as useful as a chocolate teapot and as crazy as a bag of hammers. If this thing is not removed soon my Fitbit is going in the Fitbin.

Fitbit keeps saying that if it gets enough votes, it will address this issue and to watch the space for news.  But how many votes do you consider "enough"?  And why do you make it so hard to log in and "watch this space" for news?  BTW... as others have pointed out, even one vote is indicative of more than one unhappy customer since not everyone has the tenacity to get through your multi-layered process for commenting or voting.

There's another 5 page thread about it too - https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Inspire-2/Why-my-Inspire-2-keeps-activating-Water-Lock/td-p/4815638  You would think *someone* from the company would notice and do something about it.

Over the months this has been infuriating me, I think there's 2 things that will solve the problem:

1. Make the clock face/time the default screen as it's supposed to be like a watch instead of the pointless Water Lock. If people want Water Lock, they can find it just like I manage to find my steps/mileage each day. Alternatively let us set our own default screen.

2. Make the screen not quite so sensitive. I'm fed up with being woken up by it flashing in my face.

Hopefully, one day, someone from Fitbit will help us.

I turned on the button lock in the settings and that helped. The water lock doesn't come on very often now.

I Have Also Done That. However It Still Pops On For No Reason. Maybe Not As Often But It Still Does And It Should Not Pop Up At All. Especially When A Person Isn't Near Water..

Water lock is so annoying! I’m seriously considering returning my inspire 2. Please Fitbit, make this where it can be disabled!

Please add option to disable water lock. I just received my inspire 2 as a replacement for my Alta which no longer functions. I keep my Fitbit on at night to track my sleep. Last night was the worse nights sleep I’ve had in a long time because the water lock warning buzzer kept activating. I had no idea why the alarm kept going off until I researched it this morning. This feature is very annoying and not needed.

We’ve been asking for this to be disabled for a year now and we are just ignored. I’d suggest returning it as soon as possible
I’m going to try my luck retuning mine as it’s clearly not fit for purpose. Google bought Fitbit and really don’t seem to care. Last one I’ll ever buy, the frustration is off the scale (probably putting my heart rate up !)

I just got my Fitbit Inspire 2 and it is great ... EXCEPT for the Water Lock feature which I cannot disable.  Please give users the option to disable this feature in Settings.  The Water Lock activates multiple times a day and it is very annoying.

I have tried to return my fitbit the day after I bought it at argos and was told I had to speak to fitbit. They said it works ok and I should wear it further up my arm. So now it doesn't register my heartbeat correctly.

Come on fitbit just give us the option to turn off waterlock

Agreed, the buttons are sensitive but that's important. I agree the water lock was a great idea, but isn't working for everyday wear. What about removing it from the function of the side buttons and putting it in settings or as a separate screen stopping up.

Over and over people have complained about the water lock and unwanted buzzing and notifications. The settings suppose to allow to disable and able these  notifications and features do not disable notifications at all.

The waterlock issue is hopeless. One place asks for you opinion and suggestions and when  (jogger) suggested an excellent solution after nothing FIT BIT has suggested and the number of owners has continued  to increase the response was a terse legal document telling all users that FitBit did not want suggestions or would they consider them... It was hard to decide wether to laugh at this demand or go find a competitors product and encourage others  to post their FitBit product issues on  sites like Amazon, PC magazine or Consumer Reports!

Having working in R & D and setting quality assurance standards and testing procedures in the past in similar fields in some cases found it almost unbelievable that a rep would insult and threaten frustrate customers and especially those with excellent possible solutions! I do not know the other user just have received notification of their responses thru my email.

Even funnier is the answer to the complaint of reduced battery life. If we could disable waterlock, buzzing and continual notifications-we  have contacted FitBitt about don't you think we would disable them? That has been the major complaint in the user forum you can't. They are the battery sucking problem.

I WOULD like my defective Inspire 2 replaced by a product that works! The Inspire 2 is an annoying obviously defective device that rarely functions properly and as customer after customer has  written time and time again does not function as advertised.

I have (as many others) have contacted the lovely patient customer reps. They try but can not fix a previous poorly designed and functioning product! They are there to help with operator issues and questions and information not to offer frustrated users fixes to design and defective equipment repairs. Technical support and design departments need to address these repetitive  problems , redesign and reprogram as necessary provide the user with a different FIT BIT produce until the major dysfunctions in the Inspire 2 have been dealt with and replaced or corrected. It also seems that FitBit  should consider suggestions by users that are effected and have bothered to take the time to contact you with possible corrections and upgrades the respect they deserve and consider the possibility that they may be giving you an working idea you have not considered.

I have nothing new to add to this thread. Like everybody else, I'm extremely irritated with the Water Lock constantly activating and I can't find a way around it. Wearing it looser or higher is a ludicrous recommendation from the manufacturer. I'm not quite at the toss it point but I know I will replace this with something else that doesn't annoy the dickens out of me 2 dozen or more times Every. Single. Day. Not cool, Fitbit. Not cool at all.

This is driving me crazy too - I've only had it 3 days after losing my original Inspire fitbit.

Please, please add a disable button.
