Option to show Kilojoules in Dashboard and all apps

Many countries favour using Kilojoules instead of calouries for enrgy input and output. Please add the option to choose in all relevent dashboard areas.

Please make this happen soon. Please also consider to add a Megajoule option (where 1 MJ = 1,000 kJ). I think this might be easier to read and since all the values are estimates, people are likely not interested in displaying single kJs. Showing the energy values in Megajoules with one or two digits after the decimal point will be most comfortable to read.

Using joules makes it also more easy to get an idea of how much energy your body uses by being able to compare with values for various actions in the technical world.

Another for Kilojoules - I would use myfitnesspal and sync to fitbit but it only syncs summaries which defeats the purpose of analysis - would like to stick to one app.

Perhaps if you include kilojoules I would consider upgrading membership to premium - without it, not going to happen.

Agreed, I need to keep converting from Kilojoules to calories. This wouldn't be something very hard to add to the software, and I would have thought it would be standard for an international product.

Another vote for Kilojoules support.

Many of us outside the USA have our food information in Kilojoules. It can get pretty confusing always having to do the conversions.

I am constantly appalled by the lack of real world understanding that programmers have. Why hasn't fitbit implemented kilojoules in their app? Sorry fitbit but I am realy angry at your ludite mindset! Get your act together!

+1. I think this would be very helpful, other apps use kJ, even apps stated are compatible with Fitbit.

Hi Fitbit, your HR Charger is good, but could be better. 1). It needs a kilojoules or calorie option, not just calories. It takes a considerable amount of time to work out Kj's to cal and visa versa 2). I have found the heart rate is out by approx 8 beats. I have tested this on numerous occasions and it has been out of sync on all tests. Can I enter my normal resting heart rate so it is correct?

I, too, would love Fitbit to include a kilojoules option!

the first request for the kilojoules function appears to have been posted on 1st Jan 2014. It's now Dec 2015 and still no likojoule option.  Fitbit you are ignoring your customer base and sadly we don't know about the missing function until after purchase.  Maybe a warning in large bold print on the putside of the packaging stating 'kilojoules are not available on this device' would then give the purchaser the option of whether to continue with the purchase or look for another product that caters to their needs. Kilojoules please guys...soon.

I just got a fitbit one and am very surprised that even selecting Australia and having metric length and weight measurements, energy is measured in calories. Really! C'mon fitbit. Give us a software upgrade please.

Best suggestion I can give to people is to use MyFitnessPal for food logging.  You can set that program to KJ in all screens, and it syncs with FitBit.

I'm only just looking in to KJ logging myself and found this an amazing and unbelievable oversight.  Seriously.  It's 2015, everywhere outside of the US has been using metric for an unbelievably long time.  To not even support it is mind blowingly backwards thinking.

Thank you for that I’ll give it a go. So disappointing though as my son bought it for me as a gift and he’s as gutted as I am that a device that does not have a bargain basement price tag, doesn’t really meet the needs of the majority of people who buy it for the very reason they buy it. To help with fitness, weight control and tracking of energy etc. Although in all seriousness I personally find the caller ID on it it’s best feature!

+1 for kj in Australia. Totally stupid programmers. Great device. Very poor data presentation.

We can only hope all these comments raise eyebrows in all the right places and an update ensues.

I cannot believe there is not an option to change calories to kilojules!!! I am extremely disappointed that such a critical unit of measurement has been overlooked, especially when you are able to give us an option to use Metric measurements for Weight, Height & Water!!! Secondly you give people the ability to track their daily food intake so why isnt the Metric option available for Energy?? It just doesnt make sense. This is a huge failure and oversight, especially with the Charge HR being one of the most recent FitBit models. Come on, this is the 21st century - surely this setting isnt too hard to change??

Still no response from Fitbit? Kinda pathetic really.

A setting to display Kilojoules would really complete the Fitbit picture for me.

Please Please provide kilojoules as an option. Users in metric countries may have to find alternative brands.

Please add a kj option. At the very least, explain to us why the FitBit software architecture is unable to handle recording in kj rather than cal.

In New Zealand we are metric...In options I can convert other measurements to metric but not kJ ...calories is basically meaningless and when out and about it is difficult to convert while "on the fly". If you are going to market your product to metric countries there should be an option to convert all types of measurements including calories to kilojoules. I hope you will provide an update soon to address this anomoly.

I'd like to add my voice. I have just received a Charge HR as a gift and was pretty horrified that all units could be set to metric except energy. Nearly all food product labels and recipe books availabe in Australia (and other metric countries) list kilojoules not calories.  It is pretty regressive to have to convert back to imperial measurements. It is a minor enhancement and your products are not fully metric compatible until that is done. Come on fitbit, this is not a big ask.

Dear Fitbit. Just got this for Christmas assuming it would have a Kj feature and am extremely disappointed it does not. My world and point of reference of all energy input/output is Kj, to even obtain the calorie content is not always easy and requires manual conversion. It is insane that after so much feedback this is stil not an option (and that's the people that bother to write in). Please amend as soon as possible.

What a ridiculous oversight on the part of the developers! Please update (i'm sure the code will take all of 4 minutes to write). We want kj's!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe it's just too hard to communicate on forums. ...sign up user name etc etc. That said I am here. Just got fit bit for Christmas. Can't believe no kilojoules. If I knew this I would have not opened and sent back. Will email putting this on the Google play and Google plus forum. Very annoyed
