Is anyone at FitBit listening! It can't be that hard to do. You've done it with weight, distance etc. Are most of your sales in the US? Give us the choice of kilojoules or calories.
KJ is a necessity for anyone outside of the US. What a huge oversight. As recent user of the fitbit products, it is frustrating that such a simple conversion is not possible, the only thing stopping me from reffering this to new clients at work.
It's SUCH a pain having to convert it myself because no food here has calouries printed on packaging... just kilojoules... it really ruins the convenience factor and makes people less inclined to record food intake...
It's been at least 20 months since this has been suggested to Fitbit and they are fully aware of the request. It's a very easy thing for them to add (FitCalc added it in their last update after I asked them to.) They are fully aware that in many countries other than the US, food mostly only has kilojoule information on the packaging, not calories. The only reply I have seen is that it's a great idea. Erm, we know that. That's why we suggested it.
The only conclusion I can draw from all this is that they are deliberately ignoring our requests for kilojoules and therefore the chances of them being added in the future are slim to nothing. If this is true, this is completely juvenile, selfish, arrogant and disrespectful behaviour from a so-called professional company. Quite frankly, it wouldn't surprise me (and I half expected it anyway) due to the poor design, faults and glitches present throughout the entire operation. A great idea poorly handled.
A five dollar watch would give me more benefit than I get from this piece of overpriced junk. Ban me if you wish. I couldn't care less.
This is a really frustrating lack of a feature, having just bought a Charge HR and Aria I must say it's pretty odd that we are given metric options for everything except food - especially given it's such a simple conversion!
You might be surprised to know that nearly every country on the planet officially uses kilojoules. Whilst Australia switched over to the metric system, and thus from using calories to kilojoules in the 70’s confusion still abounds. It’s likely that the main reason we still hear about calories is because it’s the measure the U.S. and U.K. still use and given their dominance in popular culture, it’s a term we find difficult to escape in Australia.
I'm wondering why you don't support kilojoules in your options for units? It is the scientific standard unit of measurement for energy, and is a straight forward conversion from calories.
In my opinion the lack of this feature is a big let down of an otherwise great app, and it is the reason I keep gravitating back to Lifesum. It seems like such a simple thing to do, I'm honestly bewildered.
PLEASE add the option to use kilojoules instead of calories. All your other conversions are in place, so why did you leave this critical one out? The EU, AUstralian, New Zealand - in fact most of the world other than the US - use kilojoules, so it's a major limitation on your system not having this option available. Thanks. (P.S. Your system won't allow me to vote on the existing 'calories to kilojoules' threads, so I'm registering the idea this way instead.)
I cannot believe that after 18 months of users voting for this feature, that even though 94% of the entire planet (that is every single countryEXCEPT for Burma, Liberia and the USA) use KILOJOULES, that Fitbit, are still refusing to include this - when it is a very, small, and trivial conversion from Calories they could do very easily.
Can this be fixed because we now, finally have an Australian database of food (in KILOJOULES), so why should we all continue to use an excell spreadsheet or calculator every single meal, when it's just one field?
I would like to vote that when tracking food items on fitbit that a majority of foods bought in supermarkets only have kilojoules on the nutritional panels and majority of countries around the world have adopted the metric system so why are they still asking for calories
Please consider installing KJ units as well as calorie in nutrition functionality - for all those users in Australia. It would've good to be able to KJ as an option in personal set up.

Seriously. This isn't hard. It's basic arithmetic to convert. Please stop alienating customers who live in countries with this unit of measure!!!! Makes the whole experience cumbersome!
I must say I was disappointed to discover no kilojoules option, and then even more disappointed to discover that the issue has been around for quite some time, is surely easy to address, and yet the response has been so limited. The former problem is an annoyance, but the latter issue leaves a bad taste about the responsiveness of the company and makes me less enthusiastic about word-of-mouth promotion.
What's the issue guys? Please release an update to fix the calorie/kj conversion issue. This is really annoying and is a common frustration for anyone using the metric system.

really want to have calories converted to kilojoules for us aussies using fitbits. very frustrating when all our food is measured in kilojoules, makes using the food log futile as have to convert everything and takes too long using up valuable exercise time!!!!
For users outside of USA we would appreciate being able to use kj instead of calories and an easier way of loading grams and mls instead of ounces and cl.
