Permanent heart rate display during workout

As a workout enthusiast I would like to view my heart rate on my Charge HR throughout my workout without having to hit the side button.  I would like to see an option that can be set to "keep display on during workouts".

Hi everybody

Sorry for my post. The feature is working. I was the problem.

Logging HR during exercise is OK. I was just not using correctly the gear.

Everything good. There are probably some measure that are not acurate but globally, the curb is consistent with the efforts.

Specilly thanks to Rafaekg, in order to change the order of display and so see HR first.

I am a personal trainer and just "came back" to fitbit with the Blaze.  I have owned every single previous tracker, including the Surge.  I gave up fitbits for 8 months because of the inaccuracy of the heart rate monitoring. I'm back with higher hopes and I need the Blaze to be just a little more AMAZING!

I need to be able to keep the screen lit while working out (duh, this should be a no brainer) AND while using the timers.  The constant blacking out of the screen doesn't show me what I need to see while I'm doing my own workouts and even worse, I have to wear a SECOND watch to run my classes!

Please make an update within the next 30 days to enable us to keep the screen ON during these times or I'll be sending this one back and giving up on fitbits!  I don't want to do that!!! 😃

A HIIT or interval timer would be nice too!  You should also be able to swipe the screen left and right to go out of features instead of hitting the left button all the time.

Thanks for your consideration. I appreciate it!

Coach Steph

I guess i should have did more research before buying the fitbit.  I thought the display stayed on too.  having the HR display on just during work out would be awesome. hope they make it happen!

So far am loving my Blaze, however, there are some small gripes which i thought would have been on the mind of the developers from the beginning.

While my workouts mostly consist of weightlifting I do cardio and HIIT. While weightlifting or HIIT I really need a countdown timer that I can set between my sets! With preferably a Vibration at 0 seconds to let me know I can begin again.

While talking about in a workout, why am I not able to backout of the session? Even when paused I cant back out. What is the purpose of this? I start a work out, and decide I want to do a fitstar ab workout. whelp, I cant back out....

Would love some more functionality please.

Can you please keep the heart rate on while exercising. I mountain bike and can't tap the watch with one hand while steering a bike up a technical uphill without crashing.

During workout modes, leaving the screen on is a must.

Not wasting half the screen with a pause button, and, instead, packing more information on a single screen is also a must. Having information like distance, pace, and HR on one (always on) screen from the time you select and exercise and hit start will save a lot of us from getting hit by cars.

Need a setting to keep the display on during workouts or even just on clock/heartrate screen. I want to monitor my heartrate constantly and can't do it when the screen keeps going black! May have to return my Blaze.

Having a continuous heart rate display is a feature that the Charge HR should provide.  With HR in the name of the device, I would expect anyone purchasing the Charge HR to be interested in their heart rate.

I would like to be able to continuously monitor my HR during exercise. I did this during cardiac rehab and would like to continue. Please consider this request seriously. Thank you.

It would help me to better flex my intensity be it to increase or decrease the intensity based on the target HR determined in my cardiac rehab program. Not having to push the button would just make it easier and more real time. In addition, I would have better info to report to the Dr.

Bye the way!  I didn't realize I book marked (I had fortunately!) this thread, as I was receiving nunerous notifications of new posts.  While searvhing for it I found many threads (complaints) scattered all through the Fitbit forums.  We probably would have many mor votes if folks found this thread!

C'mon fitbit. It's quite elementary that if someone buys that device he wants to see constantly his heart rate. Fix it asap! Who cares about the battery?!? I want to see how I'm doing without having to push the freaking button every time!

I have been a Surge user since its launch. And just got my Blaze for a couple of days and wore once to the gym for weights and treadmill.

The biggest disadvantage with Blaze is that the screen won't stay on during exercise modes. That means I have to keep turning my wrist or tapping the screen (which doesn't work all the times!) to see real time data like HR or calories burnt. Having to continue turning on the screen during exercises doesn't make sense and annoying.

I understand due to the fancier color screen, battery will be drained faster if the screen stays on, vs. Surge's monochrome screen. But can "screen on" be made an option during exercise modes? I don't mind charging the Blaze more frequently if it is a trade-off. But at least I get real time info during my workouts which is important to many fitness device users.

I totally agree! My fiance is making me wear the fitbit blaze for the social platform but the things that my other band (which I have on my other hand), the Microsoft Band 2. I was really hoping that when the Blaze came out, it would be compareable to the Band 2. I need a steady screen, especially when im doing HIIT Cardio. I dont have time to push a button or tap a screen to see how my metrics look when doing intense cardio.

I really like my Blaze. I agree that the screen should stay on when exercising. I'm a runner and cyclist and half the time the screen won't come on when running based on arm movements and only raising from a bent position. I'd also like to see pause and finish off the screen. When running with long sleeves these screen options tend to get pressed. I'd like to be able to customize what I see when I run and cycle. It would be nice to have average pace with distance.

Yes please, I can see why you'd want to create the longest lasting battery but give us the option or freedom to use this wonderful tool as we see fit. I appreciate the hard work you've taken to get this product into our hands but please make our investment worth it by creating the most finished and polished, functional product possible.

On my new Charge HR, it would be truly helpful to be able to keep HR visible for my whole Spin class. While exercising intensely, I do not want to see the time, but I really do want to see where my HR is.
Thank you!

Yes, I would also like the heart rate to be continuously displayed during exercise mode.

It's clear there is a desire for, and a need for continuous HR display. My question is what does fitbit think of all of our comments? Are they reading this forum? Do they care what we think, or is this just a platform to get our frustrations out? Come on fitbit let's see your response to our concerns!                                 dumbell

Great, great, great post and excellent point.  Makes the frustration worst of course!
