Pregnancy setting/mode for more accurate data

Necessary:

Logging a pregnancy is a must, as is the ammenorheic period due to breastfeeding.  These drastically affect predictions making the app useless for many.  Eg. I have entered my data since 2011.  My periods are like clock work occurring every 27 days... but I have had 4 pregnancies in that time so the app is telling me that my peiods average every 104 days.

Useful:

Option to add basal body temp and ovulation data (eg. predictor strip).

Agree that Pregnancy and Breastfeeding g should be options. Although just I've had my second baby and don't expect to have any more, I anticipate i will be breastfeeding for a couple of years, and with my first child my periods didn't return until she was 17months old. My youngest is now four month, so that's a year oo being told by my Fitbit that my period is due today.

Of course weigbt diet and exercise differ when pregnant and postnatally so these things would be an excellent addition.

The Fit Bit needs to be able to adjust to a woman's needed weight gain during pregnancy and recalibrate readings of heart rate, sleep and activity. Being a pregnant woman is a completely different health state from what the device currently monitors.

Fitbit’s “Female Health” tracking (come on guys, it’s 2018, be inclusive and call it Cycle Tracking) absolutely needs pregnancy and breastfeeding options and the ability to have those statuses increase your expected calorie expenditure.  I get that this isn’t a fertility app, but it is a FITNESS app, and knowing how many calories you need to take in is critical to meeting your fitness goals—whether that’s weight loss, weight gain, or maintenance.

I think it would be great to be able to designate if you are pregnant in the app. Then with you marking yes, it would turn off the period tracker, and highlight trackers such as heart rate, water consumption, steps, and maybe other things to track during pregnancy.

Pregnancy really needs to be an option on the female health tracker. A) it’ll screw up our normal cycle predictions on what IS built into the app, which sort of defeats the purpose of it, and b) most of us go through pregnancy, why wouldn’t it be automatically included as an option? So much changes during that time and it DOES alter our data.

If it’s not going to be an included option, I vote for a way to shut it off completely and take it OFF my Charge 3 screen (not just the app, which I’d done before upgrading to the 3). There are plenty of other trackers that do a more complete job. Either do it right or don’t do it at all 🤷🏼‍:female_sign: (Sounds meaner than I mean it but seriously, it’s telling me I’ll get my period in x days and trust me, I’m definitely not).

I had a Fitbit Charge when I was pregnant with my first, and there was a pregnancy setting.  Not sure where it went.  Fitbit should recognize that a woman's body and fitness is a bit different while carrying a child and breastfeeding.  I saw some posts before about how every woman's body was different, so they couldn't generalize to a pregnant woman on added calories / recommended steps, etc.  But this is true for everyone, so its not an excuse.  Everyone is different and Fitbit does fine generalizing for everyone except pregnant women?  That doesn't make sense.

Add a pregnancy / breastfeeding option!

Agree, otherwise this watch is not too useful during pregnancy

So the female tracking app allows you to log things like the nature of your ‘fluids’ as well as all sorts of other things but no option to record that you’re pregnant?! This means I’m turning to other apps for helpful information about pregnancy. It also means my Fitbit is no longer in tune with my body - e.g resting heart rates increase during pregnancy but Fitbit just tells me I’m slowly getting less fit which is a real annoyance. How many women are there in the world who are pregnant at any one time? There MUST be a market for this. Please develop something - this is a HUGE gap in the female tracking feature!

I’m seeing I’m far from the only person with the issue of your fertility tracking not giving us a pregnancy option. Since it’s important to our doctors that we track health especially in early pregnancy, it’s very inconvenient we’re unable to add custom notes or disable our cycle. For now I’ve disabled predications and changed my cycle length to the max 100 days so I don’t have to see the clutter, but it would still be helpful to add my own notes so I can keep health and wellness all in one place.  I also think it’s ridiculous to offer a “morning after pill” quick-add but nothing relating to ovulation or pregnancy tests. Again, even a custom notes option would solve this.

Hello Fitbit,

Could you please give us some action plan with timelines for implementing this module? As far as I can see the idea has been raised many many times and it's just crucial for women in certain age to have possibility to track their pregnancy (and afterwards - breastfeeding etc.) along with weight and pulse evaluation.

Also this should be where you aim too since you aspire for your products to be medical devices.

Best regards,

Agata

As part of this also please add an option to track an end to your pregnancy so if it ends early etc. It doesn’t affect the cycle length.

Would love to be able to have an option to add in your pregnancy to have the period tracking not messed up all I can do is say “not yet” because I haven’t gotten the period, but I believe the fertility date is accurate which is awesome. On the right track! Would love a section for pregnant people would make food tracking look like we’re not so fat, some tops on exercise for pregnant women would be amazing, not a lot of women are allowed to do certain activities or they’re required to do more.

I agree i cant help but feel fitbit is backwards and male profiled... im currently 12 weeks preganant and carrying twins. My HR used to be 65 resting and now 75... my HR went from excellent to moderate... that's unacceptable... as thankfully i know my body os pushing more blood around and working harder to support 3 lives not 1... think its wrong tbh that your app tells me I'm so unfit. Get crackimg on working to a solution.. asap. Else you will lose a customer.

I appreciate the Female Health section of Fitbit, but since there is a quite a bit more to female health than tracking and predicting periods, the tile isn’t as useful as it could be. Additionally, the heart rate and cardio fitness section is very inaccurate and discouraging if you are pregnant. Your blood volume doubles during pregnancy, so your resting heart rate is naturally higher and the amount of oxygen used during exercise drastically changes as well. My cardio fitness score is currently “fair to average” instead of “good” simply because of my pregnancy heart rate. It would be great to see a reflection of how my body is working during pregnancy, rather than a disappointing comparison to my non pregnant self.

Please add pregnancy tracking. I’ve Been a loyal Fitbit user for years but find it very frustrating that there is no option for a pregnancy mode. My health stats have gone way done and I find it more fustrading and sad when I sync. Please! Please! Add a pregnancy mode

I totally agree!  There should be a button to click in the "Female Health Tracking and Trends" tab to indicate that you're pregnant.  This should convert your cycle predictions into weeks of pregnancy from your date of last ovulation.  It should also alter: 1) the cardio fitness scores so you're compared to pregnant women while you're pregnant and 2) sleep benchmarks, which can be very different during pregnancy.

It'd be great to toggle between pre- and during-pregnancy health stats, such as sleep patterns, weight gain, and heart rate (mine went up about 18 points in a week and was my first evidence that I was pregnant--even before the missed period).

It’s CRAZY that there’s no way to even put in the female health tracker that you’re pregnant. That’s what period tracking and fertility tracking is all about!

Ultimately, there are tons of tweaks to make for pregnant bodies, but just to be able to input it as an option would be a good start.
