Pregnancy setting/mode for more accurate data

Necessary:

Logging a pregnancy is a must, as is the ammenorheic period due to breastfeeding.  These drastically affect predictions making the app useless for many.  Eg. I have entered my data since 2011.  My periods are like clock work occurring every 27 days... but I have had 4 pregnancies in that time so the app is telling me that my peiods average every 104 days.

Useful:

Option to add basal body temp and ovulation data (eg. predictor strip).

It would be helpful for women if Fitbit added pregnancy option to the women’s health portion of the app including information about pregnancy and the fetus to help track both mother’s health and what to expect during a normal pregnancy. Health is important for everyone, including pregnant women and having information about pregnancy would be extremely beneficial.

Simply having a pregnancy option to select and perhaps count the weeks of pregnancy in that window instead of period/fertility tracking seems like a big oversight and missed opportunity.

Hi @TShopbell! Great suggestion, I've moved it into a similar request. We have a lot of users asking this feature! Keep sharing your ideas.

For the female health option we need to have a pregnancy and also nursing mother option! While your pregnant you have an elevated heart rate and different abilities along with a different caloric intake requirement.  My body thinks my health has decreased because my resting heart rate is elevated from pregnancy. With nursing, a woman also requires more calories and burns more calories per day just from nursing her baby and there are no option s available to modify this in settings or account for this change or add it to account for calories burned. I really think there are a lot of pregnant women using these devices and app along with new moms that nurse. We need representation and the ability to have the app reflect our stats and needs accurately.

Agree that a pregnancy mode would be so helpful! Love the idea about adjusting calorie goals. Also, any tweak to the weight section would be great, seeing the graph creep up is stressful to me, but a gentle guideline that I should be gaining some weight in pregnancy would make that feel better.

I find it strange that there is an option to track your periods, but no option to declare that your pregnant to turn those predictions off. Like, pregnancy is the whole point of having periods at all. The logical next step is to integrate a due date calculator, since in theory Fitbit already knows when my last period was... It should be easy. Women's heart rates change too.  Additionally, it shouldn't be hard to make the additional caloric intake section of the settings customizable, based off what each woman's doctor tells her it should be. I'm having triplets, and even in the first trimester I'm supposed to have an additional 300 calories a day. But of course my tracker sees the extra calories and increased heart rate and thinks I'm just porking and suffering from a decreased fitness score because of it. Even though I'm LOSING weight from the effort to support multiples.

If it helps, making a partnership with a company that already has a robust set of tools that Fitbit could integrate would be excellent. BabyCenter for one has a lot of good calculators and such and could help advise as to the adjustments of the tracker. There are even ideal weight gain charts out there that you can plug your pre pregnancy weight into and it will tell you what your ideal weight gain should be for each week of your pregnancy (it accounts for multiples too). These are all great types of tools that women already leverage... Why should we be going somewhere else when we can spend our money here at Fitbit? 😉

It bothers me that i can't track any pregnancy goals on my fitbit. I am gaining weight but there is no cheering me on that its only a small amount of weight. Or no badges for making it past 10k steps in the second trimester, things like that.

Next stop predicting your period to be every following day, even if it does not affect calculations, switching the app to being pregnant should make it stop telling people to watch their weight. You could even put a very general comment in the weight part saying most women gain 12 to 18 kilos during pregnancy, or something like that... Same for reduced steps or increased r

esting heartrate

You could even put a very general comment in the weight part saying most women gain 12 to 18 kilos during pregnancy, or something like that... Same for reduced steps or increased resting heartrate.

Then it could also increase your calorie budget based on the trimester you are in or whether you are breastfeeding, which also should not be a too complicated algorithm.

By the  way at the moment breastfeeding is listed under anticonception... You know that that is not reliable birth control at all right...

Agreed pregnancy and breastfeeding options all throughout the app would be great not just the period tracker.

Also if you have an iud, noraplant, or depot shots we should be able to put in info for new shots and such

I hate the fact that Fitbit lets you track your period/fertility, but does not have a way to let you tell it that you're pregnant! It seems like a simple fix to at least let you kick your period log into pregnancy mode should be fairly simple.

I think you need to develop a pregnancy mode for the app. Being 9 months pregnant I found it very difficult to feel motivated using this app during my entire pregnancy. I never put my weight in and my step count become lower due to how difficult my pregnancy became. But if the mode could encourage the person that would be great.

Under the calendar where you can track period and ovulation, It would be great to have a button to go in into pregnancy mode starting with conception all the way to due date and what to expect each term. A way to track each week/month.

I think this would be a really useful feature as everything promotes being healthy and active during pregnancy but reading everything across the internet can overload you a little bit when you already have a lot to take on. Using your fitbit to do this and track everything would be great and encourage more people to do this and would be straight forward to do for those who already use (and love!) their Fitbit!

I agree totally! Sadly I lost a set of twins so it showed me as being on my period for 4 weeks when really I miscarried the 1st twin and then the 2nd right after. Sadly Fitbit’s Women Health Tracker is really lacking as far as how a woman’s body works when pregnancy comes into play, birth control, or even the moods, discharge, etc. We need more options and ability to actually track our periods and our female health.

You should add a pregnancy feature for ladies. It’s rediculous that it tracks your period and fertile window but not pregnancy!!!

I can't "pause" the period tracker during my pregnancy. My goals also change while I am pregnant. I think there should be a pregnancy feature for those who need to change their goals accordingly as well as keep the period tracker accurate.

I would love to see some options to include calorie burn from breastfeeding. I have a toddler and only feed once or twice a now but ever since she was born it has been hard to know how many calories I should be taking on board .It would be really unique if you could add in different stages newborn/6-12m/12m-2yrs/onwards

And allow for mums who choose to part breastfeed/ part bottle feed. You could really market this at the mums getting their bodies back.
