Reminder when Fitbit detects that an exercise ends

When using the manual walk activity, I frequently forget to end/finish the activity .It would be awesome if, using the same logic for auto activity detection, a notification could be generated for a manual activity has not been manually finished, but the fitbit detects has probably been completed.

Not to actually finish the activity automatically, but to prompt the user with "it looks like you've finished your activity 10 minutes ago, is this correct?". Sort of like Netflix's " are you still watching?" prompt.

Hi @KtO87, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to set a reminder to turn off exercises. Thanks for sharing your feedback. I've moved it into a similar request.  A lot of users are asking for this option, I hope we receive updates soon.

Add ability to enable/disable a silent alarm if I am in the middle of a workout and 5 or 10 minutes of rest are detected. Sometimes I forget to "finish" my workout, then end up with a 4 or 5 hour workout, or even 12-14 hour, if I go to sleep. But if after 5 or 10 minutes of rest while still recording a workout I get an alarm, I can stop/finish it

Hi @clarios, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to set a reminder to avoid forgetting finishing your workout. Thanks for sharing your feedback. I've moved it into a similar request. You can also check this suggestion: Periodic reminder (vibrate) that versa is tracking an activity. I hope we receive updates soon.

The other thing that this helps is battery life. I was "walking" for 8 hours. It'd be nice if it noticed I stopped moving to just vibrate on my wrist as a nice reminder to turn it off. Super frustrating when you forget and drains the whole battery.

In addition, it would also be helpful to correct the duration of the logged exercise instead of just having to delete it. When it logs a work out that 13 hours long, the user should be able to modify it in the app to say that was really 30 minutes.

Life's distractions occur during exercise. It's the reason I woke up this morning apparently having done spinning for the last 11 hrs at an average heart rate of 64 bpm. Reminder is invaluable. The ability to EDIT the end time or duration is invaluable too. (I saw a thread where a lot of people want that but the company has rejected the idea.) Note: I'm using Fitbit app on Android.

When doing an exercise and I pause the exercise it would be nice if the activity is paused and/or stopped after a while.
Daily I am on a treadmill. I enable the treadmill on my watch and I often forget to end the treadmill exercise on my watch.

Hi Yojana.... sounds GREAT.   I HOPE this is developed and released.   I can't tell you how many times I've woke up and cursed myself for forgetting to stop the activity and thus my battery goes to 0... and I don't get sleep score the next morning.

can I get an update on this when the issue is resolved?

I would love this feature too. Just woke up and I hadn't looked at my watch since my work out yesterday night when I had manually started a Weights exercise. Slept with it still turned on - 14 hours logged and battery drained. It would be great if the Fitbit vibrates every once in a while to remind manual exercise tracking is turned on if it's active.

It would be really nice. I’m pretty good about manually indicating my workouts are starting, but very often forget to stop afterwards. In my mind, it would be ideal if I got a vibration to prompt me to stop recording once my heart rate returns to a normal zone. (I have the Ioniq.) that way, in case I’m resting but plan another set, I could choose to keep “rolling” or stop and record the second part manually.

I would be very worried by this feature without the ability to manually edit my activities. I already have gym trainings ending with a long walk home that I can't edit because android users are apparently second class residents...

Please add detection, reminders AND ability to edit trainings for all users

I feel exactly the same about the end of exercise prompt. I forget to stop it all the time, yet of course, get the hourly 250 steps prompts which are less important than accurately monitoring proper exercise sessions. With all the technology built into the Fitbit it seems nuts that the information on workout sessions usually ends up being compromised. I'd be happy for manual workout sessions, runs, in particular, to automatically end when you return to the starting point, with GPS built-in I can't understand why there wouldn't be an option for this.

Is there an update on this yet @YojanaFitbit

I wish this was a default behaviour. I very often forget to end the exercise and realise it 10 hours later... A step tracker should understand I'm not walking anymore 🙂 and ask me if I'm still exercising.

Hi @-NK-, thank you for sharing your comments. We don't have more details about this specific feature. I'll be updating the thread when we get more details. Sorry this is not available yet. To learn more about how Fitbit decides which suggestions get developed, visit our FAQs.

Almost 100% of the time, everyday I forget to end my manually initiated cycling, walking and other exercises on my Charge 4. I would like the option to have Fitbit automatically end the exercise if it no longer detects distance, motion or elevated heart rate depending upon the exercise type, for example outdoor cycling would be distance. Indoor cycling/exercise bike would be heart rate. I would like to be able to set a time that it waits before it ends the exercise, for example 10 minutes.

Trust me, this would make my Fitbit a lot more useful as, I will repeat, this happens every day.

Thanks!

And... The reason that I wanted to automatically end the exercises is because I sometimes ignore the vibration and wait for a while before I check my notifications on my Charge 4. I really don't want to be a slave to my trackers vibrations but rather use them for my convenience.

It seems strange that you can have a feature that automatically switches an exercise on when it detects one - but no feature to switch it off when that exercise appears to have ended.  Or at least give a notification to remind you to stop monitoring that particular exercise.

I regularly have that issue when I finish a walk - distracted by so many other things - and the Fitbit only buzzes when it loses GPS connection - often when I am in bed, asleep - several hours later.

This issue has been raised on numerous occasions - why is it taking Fitbit so long to address something which, on the face of it, would seem an easy fix?

Like others have mentioned, the only thing I really need is the ability to trim the end of a workout, walk, etc.  More than once I have forgotten to stop the workout and drove home which distorts the metrics, map, and reporting.

If they can’t do that simple amount of coding why not modify the app on the phone so I can manually change the incorrect duration of exercise and have it be reflected in the calories burned?  Seems like an obvious defect in the programming.

I just switched from Apple Watch to Fitbit and am disappointed that this feature is not on the Fitbit. I just recorded a 3 1/2 hour “workout” but it was really just me walking around the house after a walk. Not sure why there isn’t a reminder or at least able to edit workouts.
