Remove unearned step and floor badges

Recently, my family and I rented a bunch of Jeeps and took them over some mountain passes in the Colorado Rockies. It was an amazing time. I had my Fitbit with me.

The roads were basically constructed of boulders and therefore pretty ...bouncy. At the end of both days, my Fitbit had registered 100+ flights of stairs. The second day I got my first 150 Flights badge. I would love, love, LOVE to have the badges for these days revoked. I didn't actually earn them and I don't like the idea of having a badge I didn't earn. And 150 flights of stairs is a tough one to earn legitimately. 😞

Can you all implement a way on the backend so that users can petition to have unearned badges removed?

We need to get @DerrickFitbit to update this.

Please contact.fitbit.com and they will be glad to remove those badges, they removed mine.

When I spoke with them they told me that they couldn't remove them.

Yes for two years they have been telling me that but last week I sent another request and here is the outcome. Would it not have been better to have tried, then instead of questioning you could have reported success.

Hi!  It would be great to be able to remove badges that we didn't earn ourselves.   Earning badges from driving has left me unmotivated and bummed out. Please help!   For such a strong company, I know you can do this 🙂

love!!

@Ambelina16 my badges came when Fitbit said I walked half way across the USA in a 30 minute period.. Did you contact tyem? Like I show in the post above yours, they removed my badges.

I earned every daily distance badge while I was sleeping shortly after starting my fitbit account, even before I had bought a fitbit and I would love to be able to remove the badges I did not earn. The badges are a great feature but if I can't earn them what is the point? This feed is ancient in tech years and this should not be a problem still. Please fix it already.

I would like the option to delete a badge I did not earn. I was editing my current weight and weight goal and accidentally forgot a digit and it thought I lost 135 pounds when in fact I did not. So it gave me a weight goal set badge.

you can actually delete the weight ones, all you need to do is to access fibtit.com/badges/all and you hover with your mouse to get the info on the badge, after that you can click on the trash can to delete them. @S.Murdock

Setting up our new fitbit scales it registered that I have lost 50 plus dogs while that would be nice I now have loads of badges I have not earned help.....

@Southampton then simply go to https://www.fitbit.com/badges/all

Click on the weight badge that you want to remove, the cluck the garbage can. You have always been able to remove weight badges. This request is about step and floor badges. Currently we have to contact Fitbit to remove them. Not a big deal just an extra step needrd

Well to me they keep denying me even when i ask support. So i don't know if
i just fell on a rare a****** fitbit supporter or what, but having the same
reasons and motivation than everyone else in this forum, the last time i
asked i was told "we currently do not remove floor badges" and that was
it.

Not sure why this feature is so complicated to impliment, but it really
sucks, cause i'm stepping up my activity these days, and i will still
never reach this retarded floor badge number earned whilst standing on the
back of a 4x4 driving uphill.

Have just asked about deleting Badges and was told it was not possible - although I could delete my account and re-register via the same email address and start again in 48 hours, if I so wished.

It was suggested that I might make a suggestion via the Community about deleting badges, but when I got here I discovered that people have been asking for this for since early 2014 (over three years ago).

Maybe I shall email them direct and make a request?

Hello everyone,

I recently had the similar issue with weight badges (I got more than I should get...), so I wrote to the Fitbit Support on Twitter and they replied me the link (http://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1139/#Delete), where is step by step tutorial how to delete weight badges. Without resetting the account and losing them all.

I thank them very much for their help, hope it will help you too. 🙂

Yes @221B, that is still correct for weight loss badges, however a user still needs to contact fitbit to have step and floor badges removed.

I went back and forth with them, first weekly tyen monthly, then back to weekly. for a year and a half. Every time they closed my case i opened another one and responded to all the case numbers.

See my post above for the results.

It would be very helpful to be able to start over without having to delete an account or create a new one. I had an old fitbit that I borrowed and created and account.  Then gave it back.  I finally got my own and set it up.  I have badges and lifetime steps that aren't mine.  However I didn't realize those were there since I am very new to it.  I have data now that I don't want to lose in the last 2 days.  Not a huge deal, but I don't see the harm in letting us do that.  It's out data why not just let us reset any part of it if we want.

I would really like to have this feature.  I was logging my weight one day and didn't notice that I left the hundreds place off so my fitbit thinks I lost 200 pounds in 3 weeks..

@Stoneleet this request is specifically about step and floor hadges, a user has always been able to remove weight badges. See the help doc at http://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1139/?q=Badges&l=en_US&fs=Search&pn=1#Delete

I accidentally entered my weight as 23 when I was trying to type in 230. So now I have all of these unearned badges when I probably should not have been able to enter 23 as my weight in the first place please let me delete them 🙂

I cant beleive if this is such a wanted request how after 3 years that it only has 229 votes. Isnt anybody advertising this request in their sig?

Krsty26
First Steps

@Rich_Laue It is because the only people who need it are the ones who have a glitch in their Fitbit or a very odd circumstance. Just because the design flaw doesn't effect everyone does not mean it should be ignored.

So what im suggesting is to advertise!

Now if you do have false badges then please contact.fitbit.com they are able to remove them for you

Another vote for deleting badges.  I earned all the step badges to 100k/day when my Zip went wonky for 2 days in 2013, and I would like to remove each badge from 30K and up.

I would have trouble determining which of the Lifetime Distances badges to delete, because I'm assuming a combination of the step badges feeds into earning these Lifetime Distances.

What I would like to see if deleting of steps within a day, and have it automatically adjust the badges accordingly.  Don't know if that far-reaching idea would ever hit the sound barrier, since even 'simple' deletion of badges seems ungodly.

Earning badges now don't mean much to me after earning all the Daily Step badges. The Lifetime Distances badges don't hold mean much either. having just gotten a Charge 2, earning flight badges are ok, but it's not like I climb literal mountains daily.

I would also like to earn badges I didn't earn-- a 5 hour drive on a bumpy road resulted in a roller-coaster badge.  While it alerted me to the mistake, and I was able to delete the steps, deleting the steps didn't delete the badge.  The badge should be tied to the activity, so if something changes for the day, then the badge should change.  Thanks
