Rowing/Stationary Rowing Machine Exercise Shortcut

Considering most of the important cardio equipment is represented in the Exercise list, I think it's more than justifiable to add a stationary rowing machine to the list. Almost every gym in America contains at least one or more Concept 2 rower as it is a total body and low impact method of Cardio. It's one of my favorites and I'm sure I am not the only user that is a bit disappointed that is not represented.

Please add rowing to Fitbit charge 2. It would make the device complete
Also a pause function in exercise would be helpful. Real life and exercise includes interruptions and starting again defeats the object

When picking my fitbit I used you test on your website. It asked what sort of exercise and what was important to me and then recommended the charge 2. I use alot of gym based equipment and the rowing machine is basic gym equipment and is not on the list, was disappointed with this.
Please please add rowing machines.

I own a concept 2 rower and try to row 10K meters 4-5 times a week.  It would be nice if I could have a rowing shortcut, rather than having to use the generic "workout"

I agree completely!  I don't have a concept 2 so I wouldn't start with being that specific but can we have Rowing please!

It would be good to have Rowing Machine added as an Exercise Shotcut for the Charge 2

Dear Fitbit,

The rowing machine is called an "erg".

It is used for stationary rowing exercises. It is becoming more and more popular with all ages, especially with older people who are looking for low-impact exercise alternatives.

Thanks, I know you'll come through!

I use a Concept2 with PM5 and it would be great if these two tracking systems could be linked so that credit for rowing exercise could be added automatically to my Charge 2.  Having a meaningful "Rowing" category in the exercise choices would be a great achievement for the Fitbit Team.

Definitely. I use the generic "workout" label at the moment but it would be great to label it more specifically. Not sure if there'd be any way to track stroke rate too?

Just wanted to add my voice to the crowd. I'd love to add a rowing feature on there. I broke my hip and just cannot do extensive walking, and running is out of the question, so my main go-to is rowing. Like others have commented, the calorie count for rowing on the Fitbit Charge 2 is way off. The heart rate monitor is mostly accurate, but sometimes I know it is too low. I'm willing to live with occasional inaccuracy because I'm not expecting the Charge HR to be a scientific instrument. It is great for the price and features and the main thing is that by tracking my exercise, it keeps me motivated. Still, it would be nice to have a rowing erg feature...

I was about to make this suggestion myself as this is one of the main things that annoys me at the moment. There definitely should be an indoor rowing option on the Fitbit Charge 2 - I mainly use a Concept 2 rower when working out and find it extremely annoying and baffling that it isn't on the Charge 2. It's the perfect exercise for a wrist mounted motion tracker to actually be able to easily detect and monitor - It makes no sense at all why they haven't added this feature - not only should it be in the shortcuts menu, but it should also be auto-detected. The watch should be able to record and analyse things like stroke rate , speed etc. vs HR. At the moment, if you want to row this device is useless.

I'm 52 years old, 14st 10lb, and after 30 years of rugby my knees are too shot to run.

Instead I have a Concept 2 rower which I use 5 times a week.

So c'mon fitbit, give us the feature please!

Rowing is my primary workout, this would be a great feature.

Yes, I know this sounds like a broken records, there are tons of suggestions of this kind. But since there seems to be no reaction, I add mine.

It would be really great to have that! Thank you!

I've used/owned a Concept 2 since late 1980'summer. Single best piece of workout gear.in the world. Either Fitbit or Concept 2 need to get on the same page and make rowing a part of the workout option. I have it on my phone but it would be great to have my workout sync automatically.
