Rowing/Stationary Rowing Machine Exercise Shortcut

Considering most of the important cardio equipment is represented in the Exercise list, I think it's more than justifiable to add a stationary rowing machine to the list. Almost every gym in America contains at least one or more Concept 2 rower as it is a total body and low impact method of Cardio. It's one of my favorites and I'm sure I am not the only user that is a bit disappointed that is not represented.

Yes, please add rowing! I use a Concept 2 indoors and row a little outdoors, would be cool to sync with Concept 2 data, but even generic rowing would be great!

This is one of the most popular fitness trackers. Shouldn't there be options for every type of workout? Please add rowing.

Last week I buy charge 2 and offered one to my wife as well, we have a waterower at home but  we can't log rowing not even manually this is very annoying since we both row dozens of KM per week .. 😞 can you make an update to the app at least to enable manually capture of rowing .. I understand that automatic detection is not easy .. but manual would fit my needs .. and the needs of many users as well ...

Please add rowing to the list of fitbit exercises... (excerpt from Josh Crosby, ultra endurance athlete)

"Rowing works 9 major muscle groups: quads, hamstrings, glutes, lats, core, shoulders, triceps, back and biceps. In addition rowing is an amazing cardio workout. Low Impact – Rowing is great for injury prevention, rehab and runners because it is a low impact alternative to other activities."

Fitbit needs to recognize rowing as an exercise, as it is growing in popularity. Thanks.

Please add stationary rowing to the excercise shortcuts.  At least two other people have fitbit charge2's  in my class and we all agree

I strongly support this request.  All previous discussions on this subject have been marked solved, by various moderators that think the solution is to manually enter the row.  Please do not mark this thread as solved, unless the feature is added.

I use a concept2 rower with rowpro5.  My training regimen has distance based rows and time based rows.  I wear a chest strap because  rowpro needs realtime heart rate data, but I have noticed that the heart rate data from my blaze is just as accurate.  Kudos to the fitbit analytics team - a huge improvement over the last year!!  Also, when my rowing "form" is spot on, there is a correlation between steps, and strokes.

I am currently manually entering my rows, using the rowpro log data.  The log summary displays duration, distance, and calories, but not start time.  The start time is buried in rowpro data files.  That is why it is a headache manually entering rows.

I would like the capability to start and end a "rowing" session from my blaze, and also have the capability to manually enter the  distance associated with the row, at some later point in time.  Being able to manually add the distance is really important, otherwise recording the row would have little value to me.  Why - because if my row was distance based (500m, 1000m, etc) I need to know what the distance was, and because if my row was time based (15min, 30min, 40min) I need to know how far I went.

Exactly cBitFit.. there is a lot of information to log, stroke rate, distance, intensity, heartreate etc ...
It's ridiculous to log this as jogging with only one or two fields... even a rowing icon is not complicated to create...

Another vote for adding rowing machine workouts!

I am a 71 year old male and have been an avid rower for over 4 years.  It has done wonders to keep my back fit and to work my cardio.  I just get the Charge 2 and was disappointed that it did no have rowing and would not track steps (rowing strokes).  Should have this as an option for activity and be able to add distance rowed.

Yes, yes, yes.  I want to thank all of you for speaking out for Stationary Rowing.  It should be on the list of Exercise Shortcuts.  No fun trying to make an entry into my cellphone shaking and breathing hard after my workout.  And if that isn't enough, I have to hope I remember to get my HR reading average so I can make a somewhat complete entry.
