Rowing/Stationary Rowing Machine Exercise Shortcut

Considering most of the important cardio equipment is represented in the Exercise list, I think it's more than justifiable to add a stationary rowing machine to the list. Almost every gym in America contains at least one or more Concept 2 rower as it is a total body and low impact method of Cardio. It's one of my favorites and I'm sure I am not the only user that is a bit disappointed that is not represented.

Kayak season will come to Minnesota eventually.   For the 9 months of winter though, it's an indoor rower as THE option.  Please add indoor rowing to activity tracking

Please create a "Rowing Machine" exercise option for the FitBit Ionic.

It's amazing how long Fitbit has been ignoring our requests to add rowing to the list of recognized/tracked activities... I'm currently considering updating from Blaze to Versa, but with such an attitude to our requests from Fitbit (it's been years!), I'm starting to think maybe I should switch to Garmin after all...

I fitbit & Garmin Fenix. I liked the swimming and rowing functions on the Garmin, but I like the swipe screen and community on the fitbit. I also like the water intake tracking but u don’t do good tracking. I still wish there was rowing, indoor rowing, editing available in fitbit.

This watch lends itself for paddling, kayaking and rowing. The watch being waterproof is why it was bought.

As a rowing coach, an app that allows me to track the rating, or cadence would be helpful. Something where I can tap, and the app tells me the projected number of taps per minute. Very helpful.

Yes a app tp measure strokes like the SUP app by garmin would be good

So I have 2 requests for improving the excercise app.

1 add rowing as an excercise option either outdoor or erg/indoor

2 add the ability to run the excercise app in the background so you can go back to the app menu. Mainly as I keep forgetting to re enable the HRM after starting a workout and the only way to leave that screen is complete a 3 second workout. If we can either exit as it runs in the background or add an enable/disable when tapping the heart icon would be a great addition

Yes I agree. I want to be able to label what workout I did. For example when I do weights i want to write a note with in the workout that I did abs and chest on Monday, and then label I did back and legs Tuesday so I can keep track of what I did that week.

I agree. Please add rowing as a trackable sport, with a method to provide step equivalents. As an alternative(or maybe in addition), total stroke count would be good.

great products! I had a Charge and now have a Charge 2.

I couldn't agree more!  A rowing app/selection is being asked for in HIGH demand.  Other monitors/watches offer this option, why is Fitbit behind?

Currently when I go for a row, I track the activity as a "Bike".  Distance, pace, map, Heart Rate over the workout: all these things seem the same.  I wish that I could edit the exercise type, but only runs and bike are allowed on GPS tracked exercises.  I know that it was a row.  But I would like to be able to label it as such.  Strokes, stroke rate would be great, but would require more programming/code writing I imagine. It seems as if I should be able to change the type of activity fairly easily.

Garmin has a SUP app which is great. Stroke count and rate come up. Great
for training.

My previous fitbit recently broke (hiking accident). But as rowing is my main sport I cannot justify buying another fitbit whilst there are other trackers such as Garmin and Polar that track rowing with GPS, stroke rate and cadence.

When are fitbit likely to action this issue. Rowing is one of the crossfit vital elements and you are limiting your own audience by not including it on any tracker.

Please add a way to include stationery rowing to the Fitbit exercise tracking automatically.

Hi

How are we progressing with the rowing app? Is there going to be one soon or in years? Rowing is my main sport and having had a fitbit for years and moving up the ranks to an ionic im now contmplating spending more money and changing to a Remix 5s!

So please please as id sooner stay with fitbit hurry up ☺

A lot of old and new comments to add for the rower, preferably specific to the Concept 2.  I bought the top of the line Fitbit to find out it had everything but rower tracking! LOL  So, any update on when it will happen or a reason why it won't?

Has there ever been an update/reply on adding the rower?  I have the Ionic and am disappointed it isn't an option, yet it has an elliptical? LOL

I agree on all points made.  Thanks for the suggestion to log as a bike workout. While imperfect, that's at least helpful.

In the Log2 page of Concept2, if you are going to edit profile / applications, you can synchronize your rowing activity with FitBit. You will have to remove the bracelet to row and then put it back on, when you synchronize the times of Concept2 it will automatically share it with your Fitbit
