Rowing/Stationary Rowing Machine Exercise Shortcut

Considering most of the important cardio equipment is represented in the Exercise list, I think it's more than justifiable to add a stationary rowing machine to the list. Almost every gym in America contains at least one or more Concept 2 rower as it is a total body and low impact method of Cardio. It's one of my favorites and I'm sure I am not the only user that is a bit disappointed that is not represented.

Please add rowing to the activities. It is a great sport!

I would also like this feature to be available on the Charge 2. Steps doens't matter, the calories burned do.

Please please add stationary rowing to the shortcuts as I always do this as part of my gym regime and it would be nice to be able to accurately record my efforts. Thanks in advance 🙂

Yes!  Please Please Please add tracking rowing (on water or off) to the fitbit.  The FitBit is "smart" enough to auto detect when you are on an elliptical, walking, running or biking (although when I do road trips it usually logs some of that driving time as biking and also thinks I'm riding a bike when I'm mowing the lawn...).  Couldn't the same type of technology be used to track rowing since it is also a rhythmic excercise like running, walking, elliptical or biking?  Or at a minimum sync with ErgData (Concept2. Inc.) until the FitBit can auto detect.

Please add rowing machine to the list of exercises that can be added to the charge 2 on the next update.

Anything you can do to accommodate those of us who use a stationary rower would be awesome!  Seems like the request has been around a bit.  Thanks in advance!

Please add rowing - I use PM5 & row on water. I know the charge HR used to pick up my strokes as steps -  but I want to be able to add them as recognised steps on my Charge 2.

also fully waterproof would help ( did manage to capsize & HR survived -  kept my hand above water as much as I could!!!!).

PLEASE , PLEASE, PLEASE!

Yes, I can't understand why they didn't make the Charge 2 waterproof. Even a $10 Casio s waterproof to 100 ft. The Surge ans Blaze are both waterproof to a degree.

To have a rowing machine &/or static cycle machine shortcut is essential for those of us who must spend a majority of our exercise time with 'low-impact' exercises.

I realise that mostly the Fitbit range is about 'stepping', which means that 'low-impact' exercise really falls straight outside that, but if you want this device to be a true 'fitness tracker', then please include this capability!

Cheers

Dear Fitbit, see the comments of all users, when can we start?

From what I can see, this is where FitBit lets users post suggestions so that Fitbit don't actually have to do anything. I have not seen any evidence that FitBit read these suggestions or have made any single software or firmware change based on them. It would be great to get an actual FitBit response to suggest that they actually read the suggestions, as it's very obvious this is something the user base wants, but I will be pleasantly surprised.

I think the real reason they do nothing in response to this thread is that the useless piece of plastic doesn't work at all on a rower. It won't monitor heartbeat or activity when rowing.... probably due to wrist position when rowing. I sent mine back!!!!!

If you want to track your rowing results get a Garmin vivosmart hr with the heart rate monitor. It tracks strokes and calories burn the hrm strap overrides the watch and gives the best reading. Yesterday i burned more than 700 calories in 60 minutes rowing. I've retired my Fitbit. Anyone want to buy mine?

Yes, I've heard that Garmin is very good. My son uses one and has no
complaints. Mostly, though, I'm impressed that you row for 60 minutes! Even
if I had time, I think I would be hard-pressed to row that long. Woohoo!
I'm entering my minutes/calories manually because I use the online logbook
for my Concept 2 ergometer. The Fitbit platform is mostly just for steps.
They need to up their game. Onward and upward.

If you want response, give them a lousy rating on the AppStore – they still won’t do anything about it, but you will at least get an acknowledgement from them, LOL!

They suck. I've tossed their crappy watch in the trash. Very poorly managed company. Such a shame!
