Samsung Health & Fitbit integration

Can we please have something that syncs our fit bit stats with our S Health stats? It's annoying to have multiple fitness platforms especially now that androids are becoming more and more popular as are fitness apps. It would be nice to do it all from one place.

The last sentence in your comment hallsdeeep is exactly what samsung is hoping/betting on

Everyone seems to think it's fitbit causing the issue. Fitbit is an open platform. Samsung could make it work tomorrow if they wanted to. As long as they can force people to switch to a gear, they won't make them compatible. Greed, pure and simple. If you buy a Gear, you're playing right into their hands.

Well in that case, Fitbit should atleast reply to this post and clarify
that it is not in their hands and we all need to approach samsung. Without
any clear idea, I being the customer of Fitbit, will approach to them only.

I finally gave up on using any FitBit services. My employer now syncs with half a dozen or so other apps, including Google Fit so now I can just use my phone to sync with the healthy rewards program through my employer's insurance plan without any of the BS from Fitbit or buying/carrying a second device. I'm tempted to remove Samsung Health as well, once I get the feel for Fit and make sure it does everything I need. ("Health Sync" synced all my data from Samsung to Google as well.)

But you cannot use phone everywhere. For example, when I play Tennis, I
cant carry phone with me. So you would need another device such as a fitbit
wristband or any other brand to easily use it during your workouts.

I left a review on the Samsung Health app page:

"Is there any chance of you guys syncing with fitbit? My company requires us to walk a certain number of steps and will only accept fitbit or garmin"

They replied:

"Hello Chris Magda! Thank you for giving Samsung Health a try. We truly appreciate your feedback. We will be forwarding your suggestion to the development team for further consideration."

Maybe we all need to suggest this on the Samsung app page.

Google Fit will work with Android Wear devices if you really need a second one. It just doesn't *require* a second one like FitBit does if already have your phone on you most of the time like I do. I hate having to remember to clip a fitbit to my belt every morning when I already have my phone on me all the time, even when running.

I just received my free contract gift if Samsung Gear Fit2 and i am loving it, especially as its all in 1 place now, not having to work between 2 apps and use Fit & Healthy to update some bits in Samsung Health, so much easier & fits into my life better. Will be keeping my fitbit for a back up just incase plus i bought the fitscales so will still use this item weekly.

You got the samsung gear 2 or what?

I have just received the Samsung Fit2 yes!!!!!!

I said i had purchased the fitscales so would still be using my fitbit so i could sync it with the scales once per week as i have no scales that work with my Samsung watch (yet) 😁

I've got the samsung s7 edge.  I have a fit bit which i love and perfer to use rather than my phone for tracking my steps.  It's annoying for S Health to tell me i've not done any exercise as I'm using my fit bit.  Please arrange a link between the 2 apps

You can link S Health under settings to link to the fitbit app.  It only does sleep tracking at the moment 🙂

I agree with this completely.  I use both the Fitbit and have an android phone.  I don't want to have to drop one but if I have to, it's going to be the Fitbit and I'll stick with the Samsung trackers.  Please hear our request for this and it will benefit everyone!!!  Fitbit is by far my favorite platform but...

Why is it no one is understanding that what your asking for is bad business for both samsung and fitbit. If you enable fitbit data on S health you would have NO REASON to BUY a samsung tracker, and the fitbit software would be obsolete for the fitbit company since you would use S HEALTH to track everything. I agree with all of you I have an S8+ and a Charge 2, but it is just not going to happen for MONEY reasons.

If that were really the case then why would FitBit allow *some* phones to be used as trackers? No need to buy their device when you can use their app for free with certain phones. I would have been happy with that option too on my Turbo 2 since it would sync with my insurance program. Since it won't track with my phone OR sync with an app that will, FitBit is gone for me.

I don't think it's as simple as money.  It's 2017 - all of my friends have multiple trackers so these companies aren't losing money on us.  I have three different trackers that I use for all different reasons.  I really like my Samsung Gear S2 for work and evening because it is a sharp looking watch but I use my Fitbit Blaze or Charge for hiking and walking.  We can't get enough technology and we are willing to pay for it!  I would even pay for a "premium" account if it meant I could sync all of the data in one place.

Send an email to samsung stating that you would pay extra for a "premium" account. You would get faster results/responses than posting on here.

I totally hear you - but phones are inaccurate so I don't think there are many people who would forfeit a tracker for their phone.  They may, however, trade it for one that is completely compatible with their phone's health app and ditch ones that aren't.  Also, if you forget your tracker (which I do a lot) it is nice to have a backup in the phone even though I know the step count is way off.  It would also be great to have a place where you could compete with friends that use Fitbit as well as some who use S Health. I understand that this is going to take some thought on all sides, but I think it would be a good faith effort on Fitbit's part to try to compromise knowing how many of us are asking.  Again, I would even pay to have this option.

Being able to sync my fitbit to my Galaxy7 would be AMAZING!! Can't believe this thread was started 2 years ago and it still hasn't happened!!
