bracchi5, I am not aware of any improvements with the AP to allow for logging of Glucose levels or any other readings those of us that need to track certain health indicators.
When I started this I was unable to locate a thread specific to tracking Glucose readings. If the other thread is more your speed then I recommend following that one.
I agee they are similar but one requires Fitbit to develop hardware, I am willing to manually enter the values, I already own a BP cuff and glucose meter.
I am tired of waiting for an answer one way or another. Christmas is coming and my Fitbit face plate is cracked and I am moving on to another device. Blood pressure recording is very important to me so there you have it! Norm Overbay
With the advent of more Telemedicine, it would behoove the medical community as well as companies such as FitBit to blend their expertise and technology to be able to sync wonderful features such as heart rate, possible blood pressure, daily workouts, sleep patterns, etc., while in a follow up Doctor’s appointment. My husband has had cancer and manyof the numerous follow up appointments consist of: weight, Blood pressure, and 2 minutes with either Physician Assistant and/or Physician. It just seems to make sense in time spent for the medical professional to sign on to a HIPPA protected sight and connect with patient via computer. This would save patient drive time, physician’s time as well as some how; share this important DATA which is available via FITBIT. If blood pressure could be added, this would fulfill many follow up appointments for many health issues that do not require a long period of time. Additionally, you would be talking to Health professional via protected internet connection link.
I havebought several HRs in the past and now have a Charge 3 which I am very happy with, However, I would have bought 3 of them if manual tracking of blood pressure was included.
I have a wife and friend who both struggle with blood pressure (on meds) but they can't see the point of being able to see all the other stats on the fitbit app, but not being able to spot trends in blood pressure.
My friend has to wear a blood pressure tracker from morning to night, but he has to laboriously copy down the data to a spreadsheeet to compare it with the activities recorded by his Charge HR to see if there is any correlation.
High blood pressure kills, you used to have this feature and with an aging population you should morally bring it back.
Maybe you don't want to go down the road of trying to incorporate a blood pressure monitor into the devices, but some day you might !
In the meantime, for all those people who have blood pressure monitoring equipment, ( we have an Omrom cuff type device) for goodness sake let us store it in the same place as all the other data,
The added cost of adding a little server space and reinstating a bit of software that was previously in the app would make a lot of people happier, healthier and probably sell more devices.
Come on Fitbit, for once, do the right thing

I understand the limitations for glucose monitors built into the device with the strict testing that must be done as well as legislative and medical approval makes it hard to develop a physical tester.
But it would be nice if you could code a 'manual log' log into the dashboard on the app and website for those of us who need to keep an eye on blood sugar levels along with all the activities, weight loss, food and more that keep those levels low.
It is the one thing that Samsung's S Health has over you in their app that makes their app my primary and yours the secondary.
Hey @GoofyGangster! Thank you for sharing your idea about manually logging blood sugar/glucose. This feature suggestion already exist, this is why I moved your suggestion here. Do not forget to vote/give kudos.
Tracking my blood pressure is an essential reality for me. Manual tracking is fine--I manually track most things in this app--food, my period, water, etc. Lacking this feature makes me use S Health as my primary app instead of Fitbit and makes me reluctant to purchase another fitbit device. This is such an easy thing to add and an essential component of managing a healthy lifestyle. Being able. To set BP goals would also be great.
YOU SHOULD REALLY PUT A BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKING ABLILITY ON THE FITBIT. WHEN WORKING OUTDOORS IN THE HEAT IT WOULD HELP SO I WOULDN'T HAVE TO KEEP RUNNING INSIDE TO CHECK IT EVERY SO OFTEN TO MAKE SURE I WON'T STROKE OUT! BY THE WAY MY HUSBAND HAD A STROKE AFTER MOWING IN THE HEAT FOR 4 HOURS. SO I THINK THAT FEATURE WOULD BE LIFE SAVING.
I support this post 100%. I was interested in the Fitbit Charge 3, but have decided against purchasing one as I need a tracker with a Blood Pressure monitor function. Many far cheaper trackers include this function, so why not Fitbit?
I don't know how to search for one. Please let me know what you find. I would love to trade mine in for one that does blood pressure. Thank you very much.
I googled Fitness Tracker with Blood Pressure Monitor, I’m still looking, will let you know what I find. Very disappointed that the latest Fitbit - Charge 3 hasn’t got one.
Hi everyone thanks for sharing this suggestion. This is being discussed although I do not have a firm commitment or timeline at the moment. Do continue to vote for this feature suggestion whilst it’s under consideration. Please note that if something is under consideration and chosen for development, it can be a while until it's released or until I have any news to share. Please watch this space for any updates! Thanks for your patience.
Hi @ErinJeffreys, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us, this feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your post here as it is under consideration.
My friend is struggling to convince his doctor to give him medication even though his blood pressure went to 214 / 117, the doctor quoting "white coat syndrome" where blood pressure increases when an individual is faced by a health professioal.
As mentioned before, being able to record BP manually on the device would allow trends to be demonstrated to the Doctor in a simple effective manner, much easier than trying to plot them on graph paper, which although I have a Masters in Computing and i am capable of, not everyone else is.
A suggestion, the addition of a simple customiseable module capable of recording of up to twin values would solve most of these request
( similar to the weight trends and lean vs fat trend graphical representations)
The same basic programming block could be used for recording various manual observations,
Several pre-configured versions could be made available. ( examples discussed are Blood pressure, glucose level etc.) but it need not be restricted to these, a customisable version could also record for example (T3) and (T4) thyroid levels over time
The biggest obstacle I can see programming wise is allocating extra data fields to the user (hopefully the original programmers made allowances for future expansion) The rest is just relatively simple programming.
In future as sensors are developed some of these could be made to automatically enter the data,
In fact Fitbit might decide to partner up with BP or Glucose monitor manufacturers to transfer data.
Be that as it may, I don't pretend to be an expert in healthcare but as the owner of an Electronics Company with a Masters in Computing, I really think this could be a big boost to the marketability of the existing product.
